Hello eveyone, I’m kind of in a dilemma here.
Backstory
Last year February my husband and I applied for a visit visa to Canada hoping we would give birth there as I was already 2 months pregnant. However the visa didn’t come out till June this year. After we got our passport stamped we had to apply for our one year old baby’s visiting visa as well as I had already had a baby since last year July..
I got an admission to study in Canada for January 2024 and I want to apply for my study visa now. It’s just me and my son that are going my husband is staying back in Nigeria (although we both have visiting visa) . My issue here is my baby’s visiting visa that we applied for in July isn’t out yet. Should I go ahead and apply for my study visa alone without attaching him since his visit visa application is still on going? What if I get the study visa and his visit visa is still not out. I’m really confused. Help me out guys

In my own opinion, State in your sop that you intend to travel with your son. If and when your visa is approved and his own isn't approved yet, you can raise a webform on that application with an LOE stating you planned to travel with your son.
Either this or you do another visit visa application along with yours which will automatically have one withdrawn or you withdraw the first one yourself and submit a new one along with your study permit application. I will personally go for the first option

Go ahead and reapply with a new Gckey details. Register and open one. Do you have your UCI number? If u do, once you fill in the imm forms and submit, it will link up all your previous details on their database together

You don't have to sign anything. Put the date save, and that's all. As long as it's electronically submitted applications.

I got medical request from IRCC 29th Aug; I did the medicals on 31st Aug. My profile was updated to Medicals passed on 2nd Sept. Then I noticed that on my profile under Eligibility- we are reviewing if u meet eligibility requirements and under background check shows - we are processing your background check.
I thot the Eligibility and background check would hv been done b4 dey send me medical request?

Some ppl have had request for passport submission and still had their eligibility and back ground in progress. Nothing to be worried about. Fingers crossed. Congratulations are in order.

Please I just got admission to a 2 year program in a school in BC. Where do I start? I am new to this thread.

Do I need to show proof of funds for the entire 2 years for my visa to be approved?

I intend to pay my year 1 school fees before I apply for visa. Will that help?

Paying 1 year will help your application strongly. You need a solid SOP so as to get it right once and for all.

As for showing the full pof for 2 years. It depends. If you are self sponsored then you have to show the full 2 years. If you are sponsored, you, you can show part and use your sop to convince them on capacity of your sponsor to adequately pay for subsequent remaining part with strong supporting docs. Though most ppl in order to be on safe side show complete 2 years.

Good afternoon Everyone, I'm a silent reader here. I just got a request from IRCC to submit my passport. A big thanks to everyone and most especially Zubizareta for his help in regards to my SOP writtings and review.

Please I really need your help/Opinions about this. My 10yrs biometric is expiring June/July 2024 and my program is valid for two years study. And I have been asked to submit my passport to complete my application, my thoughts is that I don't know if I will still be giving the two years study visa since my Biometric will be expiring June/July 2024. If otherwise please what can I do to tackle this.

guys good morning, quick questions does using GIC avoid being asked about source of funds, just heard about GIC tryin to understand its Pros & Cons

There is a way you will use your SOP to word it, the source wouldn't be scrutinized much because you have demonstrated the availability of those funds by doing that GIC which is the primary aim and what Ircc is looking out for- to ensure the funds u showed aren't for demonstrative purposes but indeed available.
Be ready to put strong economic ties and explain with reasonable supporting docs for source of funds and reasons why such person sponsored/provided the funds in the case of sponsorship. But we have seen instances when some supporting docs were skipped in situations when GIC and Tuition was paid and PPR was granted.

I paid half of the tuition and I also printed a proof of funds of 20m for a 2yrs course

If the funds were enough, then possibly you did explain lump sums or didn't properly document your application with proper supporting docs to show proof of source of money in your account.

Hello house if one is being sponsored and sponsor has dedicated every funds needed into ones account,the tuition fee and living expenses, under the IMM form the fund available for study option..does one need to add the sponsors account closing statement amount to it or it wud just be the applicant closing amount since needed fund has been sent to it

I am sure you know the answer to this now judging from the notes you just received. The source of funds have to be explained. So add every financial docs from your uncle.

Am just concerned about age.can a 30 year old still be sponsored by his dad.Am married with a daughter and I don't owe a business buh I just join my father business 2021 and just on a pay roll..have paid first semester fee buh he wud be sending second semester fee and living expenses into my account and I wud also add my little savings to it..am just confused cos some pple are saying i shd go as self sponsor since he has sent all the money ..

Seems you like getting worried and worked up unnecessarily because this your question has been answered here. Your dad is your sponsor. He should write a sponsorship letter and get it notarized. Also do gift deed for the money sent to you and ensure all supporting docs to prove how your dad got the funds are genuine. That's all.

The literal meaning of self sponsor is clear. If your dad or relative is bringing 80% of funds then he is your sponsor. But why are you worried if you aren't self sponsored except you have been working or doing business for a while then it's expected you significantly contribute to your education.

If it's himself sponsoring you as an individual then non letterhead is ideal

Your application lacked supporting docs from supporting docs to show how your dad accumulated his funds or source of his funds.
You didn't put your own supporting docs to show source of funds in your own acct

Seems you used company corporate acct for your dad. So there was doubt if the funds will be available as you didn't demonstrate that. There were also probably lumps sums. So basically its poor documentation and supporting docs.
Also in your reapplication, make a move to demonstrate the availability of these funds. Either oaying part tuition or balance of tuition or GIC
