Exactly what I think. If you check well, the so called mail was addressed to agents. But I will call customer care this morning and update the house here.

Good evening guys, quick question. For a family of 3, (wife, husband and a 1year old) with wife as primary applicant and the rest as dependant.

Will 30M be CONVENIENTLY sufficient as proof of fund? 25 in wife’s and 5 in husbands accounts.

Note that first semester tuition of about 10k has already been paid excluding the available 30M and it’s a 1 year course.

Also note they have a duplex in Lagos they reside as home tie. Suggestions will be appreciated.. many thanks

It's simple. Your wife is the legal status holder as the student here. Go to the border with her documents once she is enrolled as a student and flagpole. Your visit visa will be converted to sowp at the border there.

Since you have planned to defer, why not wait for the new updated loa to be out before submitting your application

My Mother who is my sponsor has a different surname from mine because I changed my surname when I wrote my SSCE to my father's first name but my mom, sister, and brother use my father's last name and I am the only one using my father's first name. In resolving this conflict of name, I swore an affidavit for a change of name and I also have a newspaper publication. I am also planning to make my mother swear an affidavit of relationship, and also submit pictures of my mother and me with scan picture of my first SSCE result which shows i was using my father's last name initially. This whole conflict of the name was due to my birth certificate which has my father's first as my last name.
Pls i need help, thanks in advance

I guess your LOE will be different from SOP, If yes then attach the LOE on the pof section as you said.

Since you have no plan of joining anytime soon, let her apply alone. Ofcourse when she is traveling, she travels with your baby that doesn't need the visa to even enter in the first place so no need including her in the application. When you wife gets to Canada and becomes a legal status holder, she can invite you and you apply for your visit visa. With that, it will make your pof effectively used for only her application and also use you and your child has home ties

Do we still need pof for 3 or just her? ( my partner) and secondly would it ben a problem that she is leaving behind her child for a certificate?

You will still need a pof of 3k living expenses for your daughter even if she doesn't need visa to enter. US passport will not cover her bills.
If it's a joint application, you will still need to show sufficient pof for yourself as well or rather more on your economic ties and what you do.

Yes you can apply with 3 months SOA. The budget depends on your tuition but looking at it, it should cover for a 1 year program


You just have to find convincing home ties for your application. The e commerce can be used in a way to show home ties.

You would also have to find a way to relate the tech course to the e commerce business. Basically the SOP will do that.
Your chances of getting visa approval just like for everyone lies in your SOP, pof, career progression, home and economic ties.

Question 1 on POF as follows : (1) Land docs worth 23M ; (2) 37M cash ; (3) Car docs worth 1.5 and Jewelry worth 400k.

Question 2 on Home ties : (1) Business incorporation documents, (2) Letter showing Leave from business , (3) letter of study leave received from office job ( I have a 9 to 5 as well) and (4) Parents and siblings (In hindsight, I realized the agent didnt submit the birth certificates of my parents & siblings, he just mentioned them in the SOP)

Question 3 on Other documents

Police certificate
Admission letter for a full time Msc program showing program duration which is 2 years
Proof of part payment of tuition (7900Cad out of total of 47000CAD)
Completed biometrics

I did NOT submit
Medicals (not yet requested)
Flight tickets

When did you submit? Reason I asked is to know if you used the old or new rate. If you submitted after the new rate had come in place, then your pof is far from sufficient.
You need about 63,100 cad which is about 36.6million. So give or take, you ought to have submitted pof of about 45m especially if you are a self sponsor.

Hope It's Letter of Acceptance you submitted and not just admission letter??

If you have submitted the application then you can only send it to ircc via webforms

So guys, a friend of mine who got admitted to Conestoga just last week. Got a call from the agent that was processing his Visitors Visa in 2021( he applied September 2021 and did his biometrics then and got tired of waiting then decided to go for studies instead) telling him his visa has been approved but some documents have expired this and that. And sent him his GcKey page which he forwarded to me and it shows the Visa was approved since April 26 but the Agent read it July 13th, this past Thursday.
Now the agent is busy saying trash..that he has till Friday to get his passport stamped but he needs to renew some documents this and that.

I shaa told him I don’t know anything about Visiting visa.
So the question now is… Can he still get that visa stamped on his passport? Seeing that it’s almost 3 months since approval.
Secondly, now he has admission… what should he do? Go ahead and apply for Student’s visa?
Plus he doesn’t have access to his GcKey but he was able to see his UCI and Application number from the picture the agent sent to him.
Thirdly, I asked him to tell the agent that he wants to study now and not visit.. The agent told him it’s not a problem, that all he needs to do is to enter Canada then their guy over there will help him secure admission and the pay is 750k (on top admission wey he don get here already).

Please what’s the best approach in this situation? Should he use the Visitors visa and travel? And what about his admission that he applied from Nigeria? Or get the visa stamped on his passport and still do a new application for Students visa?
And can he still get his passport stamped or is it too late?

First I doubt he can submit his passport straight away without reaching out to ircc via mails and webforms first and getting their consent.
What possible documents does he want to renew for a visit visa. Probably still trying to squeeze out some cash from the guy.

This is what he should do. He should sent webform and mails to ircc using his application number and UCI and attaching a LOE explaining why he didn't submit his passport all this while and plead to be reissued a fresh passport request. This is my opinion as I haven't personally seen one with a case like this before.

He should go ahead and apply for his study permit using a new Gckey acct. His new application will be linked with his old UCI used in visit visa application as long as the details he will fill in the immigration forms tallies with the previous ones he filled during the visit visa application. Ircc will automatically merge both info.

I will advise he ditch the idea of traveling with visit visa with intention to apply for study visa from Canada. He stands a higher chance applying from Nigeria because of home ties. So since he is still in Nigeria, let him apply from Nigeria. He should still go ahead and reach out to ircc with regards to the passport submission request I stated above.

If he cab successfully get his visit visa stamped, that shouldn't stop him from applying for the study visa in Nigeria. Remember both applications are independent of each other and he will also tell the VO in his study application that he plans to immediately leave Canada after his study. So it makes sense to still have his multiple visit visa stamped and valid. Goodluck to him.

Proof of funds is not an issue though: 75m naira in the corporate account and 25m in personal account. But he does not pay himself from the business monthly......he runs the business with few staff (3 workers).

Home ties: 6 duplexes in different locations and over 10 undeveloped plots of land in choice locations in Nigeria, key leader of his church, his company.


Kindly look into this profile and give your professional advice on how to go about the admission and study permit for the main applicant and his family.

Best bet is to go for PGD in Project or even business management.
The second choice has almost zero chance to fly as he has Been in business of building materials sales for over 10 years.
Since you said POF isn't a challenge, hope he picks a school with reasonable tuition.
He has to have a very solid economical and home ties to convince the VO why they will all come Back after the program. So the SOP must be very solid covering all areas of purpose of travel/career progression, pof, economical and home ties.

As for school, it depends on budget basically and he should watch out for schools and their initial deposit after admission seat has been secured.

You can do the application yourself. You can get help with the sop if you can't do that yourself then use information here to actually do the application yourself. Though the sop will guide you on supporting documents to attach to your application.

Depends on what you are referring to school deposit. Once offered admission, any school will require you deposit an initial amount to show commitment that you have accepted the admission and secured your seat for that program. Atleast as little as 500cad. However, some school end there and will not require for any other deposit till your visa is approved, while some will set a further deadline to make further deposit that could be as high as a semester tuition regardless of your visa been approved or not
