Lucky's case is an embodiment of everything that is wrong with Nigeria. He stole EDO blind and was let go by a corrupt EFCC and an even more corrupt judge. No jail term. Yet a 'yahoo boy' gets jail time without option of fine for $250 fraud. All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others. |

Governor Nyesom Wike in the early hours of (Saturday) today mobilised to stop alleged attempt by men of the Department of State Security, DSS and the Police to abduct a Judge at his number 35/84B residence, Forces Avenue, Port Harcourt. The governor who fielded questions from newsmen in front of the Judge’s residence said he was manhandled by men of the DSS and the Police who came to whisk the judge away. “What has happened this night it is unfortunate. Even in military government it has never happened like this, you listen to people. That is why we are here. I said not under my watch will I allow this type of activity take place. “The DSS, Police they cocked their guns and said they will shoot me. And I told them I have never heard this type of thing happen before. Again this is to show that more of this will come. Wondering why the security men will choose 1 am to storm the residence of the judge the governor said their action portend danger for the nation’s democracy. He said all he expected the security men to have done was to invite the judge, adding that if he had ignored the invitation then other legal steps should have been taken. Continuing, he said he did not bother to know the name of the judge but he only had to come out to stop the attempted abduction of the judge because as Chief Security of the state he would not allow such lawlessness take place in his state. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/10/breaking-news-wike-resists-police-as-dss-attempt-to-abduct-judge-manhandled/ Mynd44 Lalasticlala

motherfucker:I am a graduate who, in lieu of govt or private employment, created employment for myself and others. NO LEVEL OF UNEMPLOYMENT WOULD MAKE ME GO INTO CRIME. UNEMPLOYMENT IS NOT AN EXCUSE! If you do the crime, get ready to do the time. Happy New month! |
Really? Great news! I pray the kidnappers get caught and punished quickly. I wish the kidnappee a quick recovery from the emotional stress she suffered. Kudos to the NPF (if they really had a hand in her release). In other news, Happy New month to all Nairalanders and their loved ones. May you all harvest your blessings this month. |
The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has raised the alarm over the alleged redeployment of the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Finihan Adeoye, allegedly on the instruction of Governor Adams Oshiomhole. The party described the removal of the police commissioner as one done in “controversial circumstances,” especially as it came a few days to the governorship election scheduled for next Wednesday. The Publicity Secretary, Edo PDP, Chris Nehikhare, in a statement on Tuesday evening, alleged that the governor influenced Adeoye’s redeployment over a disagreement on the use of police personnel before and during the poll. Adeoye had resumed office on September 5, after his predecessor, Chris Ezike, was redeployed to the Police College in Lagos. The Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, Theodore Okafor, neither confirmed nor denied the report when he was contacted for comment. Okafor said that he had not received any signal in connection with the development. When asked if the police commissioner was still in charge of the command, the PPRO said, “My CP is still in charge. I do not know what they are talking about.” However, the opposition party alleged that the governor had taken offence that the commissioner was not in support of the recent arrests and detention of its (PDP) members. The statement read, “Mr. Finihan Adeoye, sources say, had proved difficult about deploying policemen on the eve of the election and on the day of election, in a manner that would affect the conduct and outcome of the election. “The disposition of the commissioner is said to have made the governor uncomfortable. This had made him to appeal to higher authorities, from where the order for the removal of Mr. Adeoye was given.” But the state government denied the allegation, saying that it had no control over the structure of the police. In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Kassim Afegbua, it said, “We are not the Nigeria Police Force. The force is an institution that has its own command structure under the supervision of the Inspector-General of Police. “We could not have played any role in who becomes the Commissioner of Police. It is purely police affairs.” The state government accused the PDP of bastardising the security agency. The statement added, “Under the APC change agenda, we are not only allowing military and paramilitary institutions to run professionally, we are building a new police institution that would be responsive to the challenges of modern policing.” punchng.com/pdp-blames-oshiomhole-edo-cp-removal/ |
Alexander Okere, Benin The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Godwin Obaseki, on Thursday, said that he would emerge victorious by a wide margin in the Edo State governorship election scheduled for September 28. Obaseki, who disclosed this during an interview with journalists in Benin, the state capital, explained that there were indications across the state that the APC would win by 75 per cent. “From all the feelers we are getting from across the state, the indications are that we will win by 75 per cent. That is what the Gallup poll I monitored last night indicated. Particularly in Edo-South, things have improved quite significantly from the last poll that we received.” The APC candidate also stated that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party had become jittery due to the rate of defections from the opposition party, especially in Edo- Central, which many regarded as one of the PDP’s “stronghold”. He explained, “Edo-Central has been very interesting. The amount of defections from the PDP has, essentially, crumbled the opposition party in the centre and even their strongholds. They are becoming very jittery. “Edo-North is essentially open to us, apart from a few units in Akoko-Edo and one unit in Owan- East. So, from what we can see today, barring any unforeseen circumstances, barring violence that would scare people from the poll and barring any attempt by the opposition party to cause disruption in some highly populated voting units so that the results from those units would be inconclusive, we believe that we are very comfortable.” Obaseki, who raised concerns about the alleged movement of suspected militants into the state, however, expressed confidence in the ability of security agencies to forestall any interference with the election process. He said, “Well, we were worried but we are no longer worried because if you were in Benin yesterday, you should have seen the demonstration of force by the combined team of military and police, essentially trying to reassure the people that the security situation in the state is intact. “We also are very encouraged by the arrests that are being made across the state. You will recall that two nights ago, some militants who were being lodged in some hotels were arrested and I hope the investigations will lead to more arrests. “I know that, based on reports and petitions, security forces are on the alert in the riverine areas, particularly along the River Niger and in places like Agenebode, where they planned to import militants from Idah (Kogi State) across the water. This plot is being financed by one of the well-known PDP leaders from the area.” http://punchng.com/apc-will-trounce-pdp-obaseki/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 |
