Some salient and not so salient points were raised which should be thought provoking.

Please do not bother to read because Ozodi Thomas Osuji has been declared persona non grata at Ngo- Okpuala supposedly his village.

I somehow managed to capture the gist of his drivel. I adopted a "quatitative method approach" to read it (read every third paragraph); it always works for me because the writer normally repeats his core idea every now and then.

My conclusion? MR Osuji is a classical "intellectual parasite". Such thrives on nothing more than sophistry, and cannot exist outside of their hosts- true geniuses like Achebe. The Osujis have to feed off these true genuises by resolutely attacking them. If they don't do that, they die.

His "piece" is nothing more than the ranting of a demented ant waiting for an end to his pitiable existence which can come in form of an insecticide, or even a suicide.

Why should one dissenting view out of 50 million views cause some people unusual wet dream The barage of affirmative replies supporting the OSU of a man (By the way, he is living his name)confirms that the message passed by the highly respected prof actually sunk in. That's the only feedback this post can give.

Abegi read the message and leave the messenger, it doesn't matter if you like Osuji or not but many of the points he raised are valid and should be thought provoking. I don't know why Igbos keep making more enemies for themselves especially politically. Achebe's book will definitely do no good to the course of Igbos either socially or politically because it is full of lies, bitterness and distortion of facts.

Re: Achebe's Book Is "Fictitous, Full Of Lies" - Ozodi Thomas Osuji by awodman: 7:42pm On Nov 10, 2012
nku5: Osuji is a reject and sociopath. Naturally he wll be appreciated by the enemy.

Mr. Ozodi Thomas Osuji wrote an article titled “False Sense of Victimization in Achebe’s Worldview”, which was published on the Nigerian Internet portal Nigeriavillagesquare.com. This article dated 15th October 2008, was a supposed response to Achebe’s Lecture marking the Guardian Silver Jubilee at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs in Lagos; in which the legend recapitulated his relationship with Nigeria. Osuji’s pedestrian attempts to contribute a voice to such a discourse would have been wonderful if its contributions were an intelligent analysis or a logical and factual rebuttal of Achebe’s position. But Osuji on the contrary achieved only a wooden advertisement of his schizophrenia. What that piece lacked in merits, it made up for with a mishmash of cheap innuendoes, false scholarship, self-loathing and a pathological attempt to throw Lilliputian darts at the tallest African in the house of literature. The pseudo-intellectual diarrhoea, which he dumped on those pages, was a lewd masturbation to assuage his psychological priapism. And from this psychological imbalance, no one can save him and his heritage of stupidity.

It has long been a personal principle never to dignify fools like Osuji with an essay-length rebuttal. This lies in the fact that there is no need joining issues with the ranting of depraved scoundrels, who, as congenital attention-starved underachievers are pathologically allergic to the achievements of genius resident in others. My stand here equally flows from some many veritable reasons. First and foremost, the truth will never convince a mind impervious to reason, or one in the thralls of intellectual leprosy, like Osuji’s. Secondly, I have forever found other preoccupations pertinent than to treasure the irreverent conversations of this fool. This is a man, who was quite early introduced to his own insignificance, than he graduated into an underachiever per excellence. This is a mentally deformed man, with nothing more than a subsisting inferiority complex. The stupidity, with which he was favoured by nature, makes him think highly of his congenital allergy to reason. He thinks highly of his monumental indisposition and pathological rejection of his intellectual superiors. This guy is neither sensible nor agreeable. His society is irksome, and his occupations senile.

But responding to his latest gaffe became necessary because few simpletons have cut so an unglamorous a figure in their notorious tendency to capture falsehoods from the jaws of truth, like Osuji has grown adept at doing. I am responding to Osuji’s latest celebration of ignorance also because of the fact that I nurse a derisive disrespect for pretentiousness. And the more he pretended to scholarship; the more his disabilities annoy and amply misinform other closet idiots of his ilk, who are wont to cheerlead his madness, or run the risk of running with the diet of falsehoods, which generate the kind of intellectual constipation required to smear a giant like Achebe. Suffice it to note that as there exists always an eager cast of spectators and captive audience for any dressing-up game or idiotic presentation, there is equally an appreciative audience for any doggerel performance, where an idiot chooses to show his undeodorized anus in broad public view.

We are finally called upon to battle a mad man because of the danger he poses to the unwary. His mismanagement of his diseased mind, and the toxic falsehoods generated therefrom, runs the risk of corrupting public place with the malodorous lies. The silence of men of conviction seems to have empowered the audacious impunity of Osuji’s madness. The stream of outrageously nonsensical spoofs oozing from his sick head would have been taken as some soft porn for the lewd minds, who masturbate at his pseudo-intellectual obscenities, save for the fact that the unenlightened Nigerian accidents resident in his worldview, take his logical obscenities as kosher for their mental instabilities. What Ozodi Osuji lacked in taste and polish, he made up for in ignorance and envious denigration of others. That is why we have decided to give him a rejoinder.

Abeg nku5 my man..dem supose draw line 4 U̶̲̥̅̊ and osuji ooo.See english

Osu - a term used for outcasts in the Igbo society best describes this man because he is on the outcast side in this matter. I tell you, no full blooded easterner (not even Igbo)can fault Acbebe's assertion. I was wandering aloud whether the OSU in his name was a mere coincidence. Who knows, he might be fighting back at the larger Igbo society. For emphasis, what Achebe said in his book has been the opinion of the average Igbo man. This opinion has been continuosly passed on to the youger generations and they've been noting it. What Achebe did was to document the obvious and only posterity, not the sentiments of a section of Nigeria can change that.

Any reasonable person knows that things have not been done fairly or on merit in this country since the late 60's (Igbos being wronged or not is besides point), and all we ask for is for everyone to be treated fairly, and for effort and handwork to count for something in this country.

[Under the watch of Hausas and Yorubas Nigeria became the corruption capital of the world. Virtually nothing gets done in Nigeria without someone bribing someone. You simply have to bribe to get what you want. If you want the rag-tagged policeman at a road side check point to let you pass you have to bribe him; if you want to obtain a form from a government office you have to bribe the clerk dispensing the supposed free form; if you want the officials in the ministry of your business interest to do something for you, you have to bribe them; if you want contract to do some work for the government you have to bribe whoever awards the contract; if you want to become a member of the legislature or executive or judiciary you have to pay your dues (to the power brokers of Nigeria); if you want to attend a university in Nigeria or obtain a job at one of her forth rate universities you have to bribe someone there.

The enumeration of what is wrong with Nigeria can go on and on but the point is that nothing gets done correctly in this shithouse called Nigeria.
If abominable things took place under the watch of Hausas and Yorubas who are to be blamed for them but Hausas and Yorubas? If as the CIA predicts Nigeria is scheduled to disintegrate and it disintegrates who is responsible for her disintegration? Certainly it is not Igbos (with their only half a year of ruler-ship of Nigeria) who are responsible for the anticipated collapse of Nigeria.
There is oil in the Niger Delta; Northerners and Westerners have their eyes set on stealing that oil, and they are doing so. They actually went to war to bring the East back to Nigeria not because they give a hoot for Igbos welfare but to have access to the cash cow oil. These people subsequently pretend to have a government in Nigeria but actually what they do is provide enough security for them to have opportunity to maximize their looting of what does not belong to them, Southern oil revenue.
It is oil money that keeps the cabal of thieves in place and when there is no more oil to steal they would have no revenue to pay for their goons-squad (military) that enables them to steal to their hearts content and thereafter like the cowards they are would flee from power as Nigeria collapses.

I have a sneaking suspicion that if Igbos had ruled Nigeria for any substantial number of years that they would have made a difference. See, in the three years they were in their own enclave, Biafra, they actually made some technological innovations, a first for the benighted black race.

But we would never know if Igbos would have made a positive difference in Nigeria’s fate. Talking about what could have been is wishful thinking.
What is empirical is that Hausas and Yorubas ruled Nigeria and ran her to the ground. [/b[b]]The necessary conclusion is that they are not capable of ruling modern polities; they are disastrous in governance (yet Hausas fancy themselves born to rule and see Yorubas as born to be bureaucrats and Igbos as born to be petty traders).
This is too bad for the black race for it goes to reinforce the perception that the black man can only have sex, produce children he does not take care of, eat and dance but not do anything that contributes to science and technology and human progress in general.

I am DISSAPOINTED at Seun and his Moderators. 99% of these post should have been HIDDEN. What is the correlation between the post and the ethnic war going on right now.

Nigeria is a failed state and no wonder we have high level of unemplyment in this country. To even think that most of these people are supposed graduates and iundergraduates yet having conversations like motor park touts and street miscreants.

People who always find faults in a tribe or religion by condemning them hardly ever go far in life.

Look at the likes of Dangote, Babangida, Obasanjo, Adenuga, Dantata, Harry Akande, and the others, this men knew how to get along with every single ethnic group and religion all to get what they want when they want it.

Most of you have let sentiments kept you poor and lonely, later you will be wuick to blame the government for your failure in life.

NONESENSE!!!

I hate commenting on topics like this one, it usually ends with our brothers from the east debunking the claims of their fellow easterner who has supposedly gone against their mind state. Rather than being objective, they resort to rhetoric balderdash and you'd also find my brothers from the west capitalizing off of the situation rather than being analytical.[/size]

Anyways, Achebe's work got floored, should one be looking forward to a rejoinder?
