Im seriously surprised at the level of response I got when I raise the question of hunting for a job in dubai.... Almost all of laughed and im wondering what the cause of that is.

Is it that I cant get a job in a travel company in dubai or even a travel agent job

Is it a question of not been qualified to obtain a job in that sector

I love to take risks and trust me those negative responses propels me to wanna venture into that same industry....

So please throw me more stones. Lemme hear ur views : cc @monchouchou

My dear am fine thanks, i don't know why people keep giving anyhow advice the way they feel like.

Anyone that tells you he or she lives in Al baraha is not responsible and shouldn't be taken serious.

If you are looking for cheap apartment or studio doesn't mean you should go and live where you cant sleep peacefully.

You guys please be wise.............I have made it clear drumma searching for an apartment that 1500 aed or 2000 aed will not get him a studio that so he better thinks twice.

He better budgets from 4000 aed and Above.

I live in a Glass house so i dont throw stones smiley tongue

But seriously why are you saying that, ofcos you can be anything you want to be and also get any job you wish if you are fit education wise and God's favor also.

There is nothing impossible. Jobs are everywhere, all you have to do is to come over and be on ground before you can be certain to secure one or two as the case may be.

There is the believe in Dubai that you can only get menial jobs like security office boy factory worker etc. It does not mean you can't get a job in a travel company. You can, it's just that it can be hard. But a lot also depends on how you present yourself, your cv, experience etc. Plenty people come to Dubai to get well paying jobs but end up with menial job. Indians are very patriotic and they seem to be running the show in most places here. An Indian boss will consider there own first before any other person irrespective of qwalification/experience..... it's just the way it is.

There is truth in what they say but with determination, proper planning.......

It is very very possible to get any and I mean ANY kind of job you want in Dubai. However it is also very difficult. You will be competing with people from other nationalities and you will also be fighting against racism . But with proper qualification and God on your side you can get the job you want.

Regarding menial jobs, that's what is easy to get especially since it's the jobs that come from agents and the exchange of 'brown envelopes'. It does not mean that's the only kind of job you can get in Dubai.

Regarding accommodation, go on dubbizle and you will get a proper idea of how much a good self contain will cost in Dubai.

In my quest to find out why Al Baraha is considered bad, I stumbled on this article. Although the article is old, lengthy and didn't say much about Al Baraha, it tells a lot about different neighbourhoods in the UAE and the sweet part of it was that it was written by a Nigerian. If you enjoy reading, read and learn http://globetrotter82..nl/2009/01/dubai-uncovered.html?m=1

my question is, what happens in Al Baraha?
Re: QATAR And UAE General Visa Enquiries by drumma(m): 3:41pm On Sep 20, 2014
Thank you all for your contributions concerning the job prospect.... Ur advise will help alot.... Just to buttress my point on the job issue... I believe im very equipped qualification wise as i have B.sc/IATA FOUNDATION AND MANAGEMENT levels which is the professional exam acknowledged in the industry globally and coupled with my 5yrs experience in the travel industry here in Nigeria I have a strong believe it will be hard for any one to dust me in an interview. i have also scheduled another ticketing training in dubai with AlSharaf aviation school just to show them that i also did something in dubai

I believe im well prepared for the journey im embarking on so im well prepared for the unknown.

As you can see from the blog post, apparently Al baraha was the most policed neighbourhood in Dubai, lol. Obviously nothing good goes on there........

I am of the view that a legal resident shouldn't be afraid of the police or do they unlawfully harass people living in the neighbourhood? my only interest there is the fact that it is within a walkable distance to Deira which happens to be the centre of hustles with large Nigerian community.

So the best way is to be on ground then, instead of just sending CVs from naija. But 4000aed for Accommodation isn't beans at all. Is there anyway to get a reduced price in downtown dubai, or the possibility of 3 sharing a 2 bed flat or thereabout

If you intend to get to your final destination in peace without hurdles it is advisable to be with your passport at all times incase of the unforeseen.

Yungmilio2:
getting a Dubai visa is damn easy compare to you getting admitted in a Federal Uni in Nigeria
.
no doubt you still a young lad.
you going to hussle in Dubai with your Olevel result.
let's forget about Luck for now.. statistically
you getting a Nice job with Nice pay is just 1%.
don't think you can cope with that for two years.
if Luck no show. in the next 5years nothing is guaranteed.
you with no field of specialization. you can only get menial jobs
salespersons, security guard etc.
or join those in loading and offloading
....
school for now should be your number one priority
build your future gradually
get your cert. then go hussle with or without your kpali.
..
congratulation bout ur admission ish
go do your registration
hope engr? so that you can join them in QATAR years later for construction #wC2022

Hi ....you can start by applying for jobs right from the UK. Do you have working experience? If yes then that is a plus.

I have work experience as an IT professional in a oil and gas firm, then as an electrical engineer in a manufacturing firm. Now I'm studying subsea engineering with concentration in pipeline design and asset risk management.

That's great. You might not need come to the UAE and start applying. Like I mentioned in my previous post start applying right from there, there are oil and gas companies.....try the ones in Abu Dhabi - adnoc, adco, gasco, and the others.

People have gotten jobs right from the UK with our green pali (naija passport). They value western education and experience ..... you've got both. Package yourself well and you'll be smiling with a fat salary. There was some post on the earlier pages in this section on companies in Abu Dhabi, you might want to search to find the post if it's not lost

Did the Abu Dhabi jobs page go with the tsunami? Also all these top oil coys aren't they for UAE nationals only? Can anyone shed light on this
