The only thing nice about this picture is that brings back memories. I am very saddened that this picture is recent. It should be some old possibly black and white picture dated earlier than 1999.. Showing that students still have to provide sitting desks in classrooms which they ferry on their heads at the beginning and end of term in 2013 is very annoying . Yet govt is talking about free and compulsory education. Are we going forward, backwards or not moving at all. Govt has to be more responsible. If govt cannot provide desks, chalkboards, etc. I wonder what its providing. Something to think about.

My brother, stop trying to defend the indefensible. I schooled at Holy family college, abak not quite far from where that picture was taken. One could see the abak prisons fence behind there. I too used to carry desks on my head but not to my house but to the assembly hall where it will kept under lock and key till the beginning of the next term. That desk was provided by my parents not govt. I am saying Govt should provide desks for students for Gods sake. is it too much to ask? I left hfc for fgc ik, there fg provided desks. I didn't have to bring my desk from home! See the difference? There the desks were conjoined making it difficult for anyone to steal. Why would anyone want another man kid (because you said yours won't) carry desks across roads at the end of every term. We have to progress as a society and hold whosoever is holding office-president, minister, governor, commissioner, principal, class teacher, etc accountable.

AKS Govt should save The ICT park project,It is Saddening that the place has become a farm cassava plantation. the present administration should look into completing this project as a lot of money was sunk into it by the past administration. this project should be resuscitated.

Lagos/benin metro 2.Jos 3.Port Harcourt/aba metro 4.Kano 5.calabar/akwa ibom metropolis and everything else in between including villages should be wiped out ,move everyone to the cities,even cemeteries should be refurbished with new cross tombs and flowers .when i travel from jos city to port harcourt city on a 6 lane freeway, all i want to see is vast hilly grasslands with giraffes and palm trees and occasionally gas station etc not some dirty villages,towns and forest and random dirty people and scenery everywhere.I want to see Porthacourt city lights 8 miles away when i'm coming to the city,i want to see a welcome sign detailing the population of that city,I want to see an educated,healthy,tall and fit patrol officer on the toll, not some illiterate,skinny,red eyed officer with oversized uniform.to all those who are in awe of those pictures let me tell you guys a parable,I liken Nigeria to a house that was being flooded by an open tap and the inhabitants kept making progress scooping the water out yet the tap(the source of the flood) was still on,all of their progress was in vain.show me the projects in the photos in 7 years and I will remind you that the calabar airport and stadium,abuja stadium,benin expressway,Nigerian airways etc where once said to be first of its kind in africa.
Everything I have said is my opinion based on observation,sorry i am a perfectionist and critical and I love Justice,fairness,liberty,cooperation,unity and progress thats my political party and nothing else ,everyone has their opinion you don't have to agree with mine,thats it from me,thanks.

I agree with majority of your points. I believe most times tribalism, nepotism, and trivial politics clouds the judgement of our public office holders. I do believe the private sector, entrepreneurs can apply finesse and perfection in some of the projects they undertake.

for instance, the picture of domingo specialist hospital above isn't appealing to me. It looks like a boarding house for secondary school students that's if I am not overstating the fact. It wouldn't be difficult to have a specialist hospital constructed with glass.....looking magnificent. Glass construction may be expensive initially but it is cheaper to maintain.

in terms of promoting tourism, I believe governments and individuals need to think outside the box in terms of inventing something creative that will drive and make people fly thousands of miles to spend their cash and stay in exotic hotels. It's not just about building 5 star hotels and an entertainment center. It's thinking outside the box that has made countries like UAE, singapore, thailand, brazil, the appeal of tourists around the world...

I am a perfectionist and even though the projects above are not at par with the allocations of the state, I must say the governor should be given a 4/10 for not entirely neglecting the state unlike some of his peers.
