i tink dat u guys are already in error here, u have faild to know dat these network operators do puchase bandwith too,perharps 2or3 terrabit of downlink, plus u must know dat bb fones not dsame as android, they are internet base fones wich rely heavily on d blackberry server for data-compresion,so dey don cos trafic congestion nor overloadin d local mtn and co servers, dat is why if mtn block d accespoint, bb fones are not restricted from blackberry.net,

google should make a server for android wich should b integrated into d device OS and a pre-intalled vpn client just like RIM
bb not only offer data compresion wich reduce workload presure between netwoks,but it also ofer data encription @ dsame time
dat is why bb fones enjoy unlimited internet,so dey are not stupid atall.

dis is wat u guys should do, contineu ur rebelion while u wait 4 d bbm app wich will b made available dis sumer 4 all platfom apk ios sisx + more, maybe mtn fit give una jara,but dont tink dat android will bcome directly proportional to bb intems of data management,becos dat is d unic diference between bb & oda device.

I did nothing. I was downloading a video and with counting MB, I was able to note this fact. Actually, the 5MB free from Glo will not disconnect at 5MB. Once you are connected, just continue browsing and you may be surprised to pull 40MB. Don't disconnect your browser once you connected, just allow to disconnect on its own. Thank you.

It seem we are getting out of focus in this trend. We need to remind ourselves the reason for this movement.
1. This movement is geared towards getting greater value for data plan subscription on all mobile platform atleast we should get Gigs for 1k subscription and not just 200mb(which is ridiculous)
2.If u join this movement half way please go back to the front page and read the first post. This movement is for all mobile platforms and tablets in relation to the point number 1 and we are not in contest with "BB USERS"
3.This movement is to show symbol for a better nigeria where people get value for their money, compared to other countries around the world, we nigerians are being exthorted by these telecom operators(over 5k for 3gig data is cruel)
finally remember MTN came into this country selling SIM CARDS for as high as 30-40k which is sell for just 100naira today, billing us per minute even if its just a second flash for 40naira, SMS for 20naira tnx to GLO who pioneered a change, sincerely what we are asking for here is nothing compared to whats going on in the world. We still pay 5naira pes SMS, do you know SMS is free in advance countries. Please we shouldnt be distracted fighting ourselves, lets remain focused on our key point. together we will have a huge success. Thanks

First, i am in full support of the protest but you guys should consider this facts.

1. Data pulled by blackberry.net is not coming from any of this network providers but from blackberry servers, I don't know how they sort it out but that is the fact.

2. Mtn has now cut down the data for the BBC to 350MB I can confirm that

bottom line : if anything positive is expected then it shouldn't be a protest on data for Android devices but general reduction in the prices of data in Nigeria. We deserve unlimited data plan even as cheap as 3k.

If we narrow the protest to Android devices, in respect to blackberry devices then it's already a failed protest.


a friend was discussing how other African countries are enjoying unlimited and cheap data..... this are the kind of information we should research on and hold as facts.
this is d most sense making post amongst a few others

u mean u don't know the difference between end to end compression on the BBM and browser on BlackBerry devices as opposed to data compression?


I just need you to explain how u connect to those magic BlackBerry servers without this mtn bandwidth

and how connections to those servers are different from connections to any other website which incidentally are also located on servers.
