Immatex: It greatly beats my imagination why people still worship Ibori and call all manner of good names when it is know worldwide that this is an accomplished thief. Some have asked that the government find a way to bring home so he can serve his sentence in the comfort of his villa. The other day his birthday was celebrated with fun-fair by some shameless cohorts. So my question is: Why do we Nigeria celebrate big criminals but are the first to kill small thieves You can imagine, even the supposed Man of God at Ibori's birthday was openly calling on the president to help bring Ibori home. |
Re: Ibori Hid Assets In Oando - British Prosecutor by Nobody: 8:10pm On Sep 16, 2013 |
No facts were presented and Nigerians have jumped to conclusions. Only in Nigeria do we stone businessmen without hearing all sides of the story, and celebrate criminals who've been caught with their hands in the pot. The other time, the media claimed subsidies paid to oil companies was a 'benefit' rather than a debt from doing legal business. Now, people are jumping hastily again. A man who does not read is no different from a man who cannot read. The point of going to school is the ability to analyse information properly. If we can't do that, we might as well all be illiterate. |

PvtParts:i didn't say tinubu single handedly developed lagos bcoz nobody can do that but it takes an effective leader to develop a state like lagos. I wonder why you didn't face the issues raised instead of insulting a tribe which is sign of low intellect. I believe that every state is benefitting frm the oil so if some states decide to be prudent with the amount given to them, is that a crime! Please, no responsible or sane individual(s) would insult others for his failure. |

This topic is wrong. Ibori laundered money through Oando obviously. A lot of launderer's do this. A well established company with that financial capacity will move money around for the individual and may get a percentage for the job. He didnt hide anything with Oando. I guess anything for hits. . Who is the illiterate that created the title of this thread. OP or Mods. |

SLIDE waxie: ode! @SLIDE waxie. Ad hominem attacks show a very shallow & pathetic mentality. A good argument will always bow to a superior one. Name callings, abuses or personal attacks are unnecessary if you possess an informed and better proof disputing the other commenter's position. If you have information that Oando and its ilks are not fronts for corrupt politicians as being alleged by the British government, here's a good chance to educate the rest of us but dragging other peoples' names & comments in the mud will leave you too muddied. Now, as to the topic at hand, I've always wondered why despite this company Oando's almost desperate efforts to be listed on the London Stock Exchange, the LSE adamantly refused. The listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) was a step towards being eventually listed on the LSE but the experience on the JSE has been fraught with serious challenges. If Oando penetrates the City's financial hub, its financial challenges would virtually be over & the movement of funds such as Ibori's, as has now been revealed, would be a child's play. If the company's hands were clean, how come it engaged a lawyer (more like a firm of solicitors) on a watching brief. With this disclosure, it's more likely that it has kissed its obsession with the LSE bye bye. It was during the controversial Ndidi-Okereke's tenure that many dubious hanky pankies took place on the NSE, which reverberations are still being felt. Many of the companies in the oil & gas sector were ridiculously quoted high & if thus were a responsible government, many of the executives of the companies should be languishing in jail right now. But this is Nigeria. 1 Like |

Their is already oil block waiting for him immediately he is released. Unless he dies there, nothing stopping Ibori from becoming one of the richest PDP member if he returns. What of Bode George? Is he not an ex convict? He is active PDP leader South East and it's environs. Ibori has nothing to fear when he returns because he already is feeding fat in prison and his wife and mistress will be out and waiting for him to return so that two of them can share him. As far as Nigeria is concerned, only a common man is a criminal. We celebrate criminality in Nigeria hence all politicians in Nigeria are all corrupt. That is why in politics, decent men like Pat Utomi's and their lieks cannot win any election as far as PDP remains in power. Iboru has a ticket 2016 when he comes out and ONLY DEATH can stop him from wining election in Nigeria. That is Nigerian politics for you. |
