Jesus praised a poor widow who offered the smallest of coins in contrast with the rich who gave big sum in the Temple. Jesus taught that real giving must come from the heart. A gift that is given with a grudge or for display loses most of its merits. But a gift given out of love, with a spirit of generosity and sacrifice, is invaluable. The amount or size of the gift doesn't matter as much as the cost to the giver. Jesus praised her generosity because she gave all she had, and everything she had to leave on. What we offer may look very small and not worth much, but if we put all we have at the Lord's disposal, no matter how insignificant it may seem, then God can do with it and with us what is beyond our reckoning. As we begin this week, may the Lord grant us a generous hearts! Amen!!

One disturbing post i've read in a while, from one who says he is a Catholic.

God help us.

Good morning, all. Hope you had a wonderful celebration yesterday.

Just to share something that the Priest shared with us during the homily after the procession.

During the procession, one of the traffic conductors with us yelled at a danfo (commercial bus) driver that had come close to the Blessed Sacrament, in yoruba: "wo ibi ti onlo!" (Watch where you are going!)

And the danfo driver surprisingly replied with a smile: "oju Olorun ni mo nwo" (It's God's face I'm looking at).

Anybody who has ever been in Lagos would know that that is the last kind of response and countenance you'd expect from a danfo driver who was prevented from moving in the Lagos Sunday afternoon sun.

For me, I will spend at least 15mins today at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, looking at God's face. Will you find time to do that when you can?

some dnt knw bt feel and think they do thereby teach what they tink is the church teaching e.g i met a guy hu thought immaculate conception means the virgin birth of christ.
sum do knw bt cant/dnt knw hw to teach it.

It happens once in a year and we have to celebrate it as such, today is actually the beginning of a new year in your life.
