All powerful and merciful Father, You are the God of
Justice, Love and Peace. You rule over all the Nations
on earth. Power and Might are in Your hands and No
one can withstand You.

We present Our country Nigeria before You. We praise
and thank You for You are the source of all We have
and are. We are sorry for all the sins We have
committed and for the good deeds We failed to do. In
Your Loving forgiveness, keep Us safe from the
punishments We deserve.

Lord, We are weighed down
not only by uncertainties, but also by moral, economic
and political problems.
Listen to the cries of your people who confidently turn
to you. God of infinite goodness, Our strength in
adversity, Our health in weakness, Our comfort in
sorrow, Be merciful to Us Your people.

Spare this
Nation Nigeria from chaos, anarchy and doom. Bless

:
Prayer for the nation and people of Nigeria.

Father God, we thank you for Your fidelity to the people of Nigeria.
We thank You Lord that, despite manifold conflicts, Nigeria is still one nation –
a nation rich and diverse in languages and cultures.
We thank You for endowing the land and peoples of Nigeria with an abundance of human and natural resources, for this surely is "a land flowing with milk and honey".
We thank You Father for those parts of Nigeria where religious freedom and freedoms of the press, expression and association are respected, and we pray these continue to be upheld and promoted throughout the nation.
We implore You Lord to eradicate all acts of injustice, bribery and corruption that blight the peoples of Nigeria; acts that leave many people hungry, sick, ignorant and defenceless, and that leave a nation trapped in stagnation.
Father we ask that every Nigerian should imbibe a true spirit of patriotism. We pray that Christians and Muslims alike will collaborate in nation-building by embracing the positive values found in their faiths, especially love, compassion, justice and peace.
We praise You Lord for an expanding local Church, and we pray for an outpouring of your grace such that the mission of the Church in Nigeria abounds in love, so that the Gospel might penetrate the hearts of all Nigerians, and even those in nations beyond.
We pray especially for the formation of youth and the provision of a new generation of fervent and faithful priests.
Finally Lord, we thank You for those brothers and sisters in Nigeria who have paid the ultimate price for their faith, through the sacrifice of their lives. We ask you to strengthen, comfort and console their loved ones in their absence, and to
bring renewed faith, hope and love through the shedding of their blood. We pray that the flame of their witness may burn bright and never be extinguished.
Blessed Mary, Queen of Nigeria, we implore you to advocate a New Pentecost through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon this great nation of Nigeria.
We make our prayer through Christ, Our Lord.
Amen.

nation at her Golden Jubilee of Independence (September 17, 2010)

Help us to fight corruption, ethnic conflict/ tribalism; terrorism and religious segregation/ intimidation. So confused I don't have a special hymn. As a chorister, I love every hymn. cry

But I want something reflective, `meditative' and also prayerful.

I'm divided between:-

1. The King of Love, my Sheperd is.

2. I Need thee Every hour.

3. Jerusalem, my Happy Home.

4. Nearer my God to thee

5. There's not a friend like a lowly Jesus.

6. As I kneel Before you.

7. Jesus, keep me near the cross.

8. Ancient Words

9. Alleluia Sing to Jesus

10. Yield Not to Temptation

1 Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain;
Free to all, a healing stream,
Flows from Calv'ry's mountain.

Refrain:
In the cross, in the cross
Be my glory ever,
Till my ransomed soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

2 Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and mercy found me;
There the Bright and Morning Star
Shed His beams around me.
[Refrain]

3 Near the cross! O lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day
With its shadow o'er me.
[Refrain]

4 Near the cross! I'll watch and wait,
Hoping, trusting ever;
Till I reach the golden strand,
Just beyond the river.
[Refrain]

Last day of the novena; Day 21

By the special grace of God, Today the 30th of May marks the end of our novena and we are praying specially for [size=16pt]Aizenosa, PriceOfGarri and Fembleez1/Eunice[/size].

Novena prayers

O God, infinite beauty. Wretched as we are, we approach in humility your throne, with thanksgiving and pettition. Thanksgiving for the numerous mercies received from you, and petition for the many needs that weigh heavily on us. Look kindly upon our prayers, especially that of Aizenosa,PriceOfGarri and Fembleez1/Eunice who we pray for today, and of mine(you may add yours), through the merits of the passion of your son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for us dearest mother Mary, as we offer you this ten roses of hail mary, with eyes filled with hope and fillial love. Amen.

10 Hail Marys.

Psalm 138
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness,for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame.
When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me.
May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord,when they hear what you have decreed.
May they sing of the ways of the Lord, for the glory of the Lord is great.
Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life.
You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.
The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands.

Special request for Aizenosa ...Psalm 7.

O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:
lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
O LORD my God, if I have done this;
if there be iniquity in my hands;
if I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me;
(yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy)
let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth,
and lay mine honor in the dust.
Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies:
and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.
So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.
The LORD shall judge the people:
judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness,
and according to mine integrity that is in me.
Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just:
for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins. Rev. 2.23
My defense is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
If he turn not, he will whet his sword;
he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death;
he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
Behold, he travaileth with iniquity,
and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness:
and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

Special request for PriceOfGarri. Psalm 118

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good;because his mercy endureth for ever.
Let Israel now say,
that his mercy endureth for ever.
Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
Let them now that fear the LORD say,
that his mercy endureth for ever.
I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.
The LORD is on my side; I will not fear:
what can man do unto me?
The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
All nations compassed me about:
but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.
They compassed me about,yea, they compassed me about:
but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
They compassed me about like bees;
they are quenched as the fire of thorns:
for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.
The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
The right hand of the LORD is exalted:
the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
The LORD hath chastened me sore:
but he hath not given me over unto death.
Open to me the gates of righteousness:
I will go into them,
and I will praise the LORD: this gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.
I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me,
and art become my salvation.
The stone which the builders refused
is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD's doing;
it is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Save now, O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
God is the LORD, which hath showed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords,
even unto the horns of the altar.
Thou art my God, and I will praise thee:
thou art my God, I will exalt thee.
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Amen

Special hymn for Fembleez1/Eunice.

1 Jesus, keep me near the cross,

I've not heard this before however I'm not surprised.

I met a woman that just delivered her second child(boy). This lady had car filled with toys that she wanted to give to anyone that wants them. I'm not talking about small small toys ;the type they managed to buy for Ubenedictus in 1968, nah not those ones. I mean very expensive toys like pianos, baby laptops, all sorts.

Kamsy: Aww congratulations on ur new born
Neighbor(pointing at a car full of nice toys ): Thanks. I'm trying to clean up and I'm giving these away
Kamsy(thinking chai I wish I can hijack these o and sell give to Salc cheesy) : Really? These r beautiful and expensive toys! Why? Didn't u just have another baby?
Neighbor: Yea I had a boy.
Kamsy(looking at her lost): I don't understand
Neighbor: these are girls toys, they're pink pink
Kamsy: shocked

The conversation left me kinda confused. On baby toys too?
On a good day Wetin concern small pikin with gay pink n no pink. In 1969 when Syncan was born, colors didn't matter much

Nlers will say end time things. Hence I expect more of these wierd conversations embarassed

lol,

a little correction, they didn't buy toys for me, they bought "yege yege" (it is an interesting equipment that makes sound when shaken), at the time toys were too expensive and my family couldn't really afford them with a smile. Actually my mum named me "born into a good life" in faith not because it was the reality at the time.
I later met those plastic non-detachable toys when I was about 7yrs (they made them with plastic head and they looked dressed) we punched holes in their head and fixed then with grass an then later with attachment. Later came the detachable clothable toys but by then we had passed the toy age.

Toy na for agebor children

There's not a Friend like the lowly Jesus:
No, not one! no, not one!
None else could heal all our souls' diseases:
No, not one! no, not one!

Jesus knows all about our struggles;
He will guide 'til the day is done:
There's not a Friend like the lowly Jesus:
No, not one! no, not one!

No friend like Him is so high and holy,
No, not one! no, not one!
And yet no friend is so meek and lowly,
No, not one! no, not one!

There's not an hour that He is not near us,
No, not one! no, not one!
No night so dark, but His love can cheer us,
No, not one! no, not one!

Did ever saint find this Friend forsake him?
No, not one! no, not one!
Or sinner find that He would not take him?
No, not one! no, not one!

Was e'er a gift like the Savior given?
No, not one! no, not one!
Will He refuse us the bliss of heaven?
No, not one! no, not one!

If there's any rule against repeating this hymn, I would've broken it many times already grin very inspirational and on point

There is God o...

I won't be the first shocked

Growing up and until this day, I've always been taught that Jesus was poor; Born in a manger, Was the son of a carpenter. He was homeless sef embarassed
In his own words Matt 8:20 the son of man has nowhere to lay his head.
When the tax collectors came to collect half shekel from him, he didn't seem to have it but had to perform miracle to raise one.

(24 When they reached Capernaum, the collectors of the half-shekel came to Peter and said, 'Does your master not pay the half-shekel?'

25 'Yes,' he replied, and went into the house. But before he could speak, Jesus said, 'Simon, what is your opinion? From whom do earthly kings take toll or tribute? From their sons or from foreigners?'

26 And when he replied, 'From foreigners,' Jesus said, 'Well then, the sons are exempt.

27 However, so that we shall not be the downfall of others, go to the lake and cast a hook; take the first fish that rises, open its mouth and there you will find a shekel; take it and give it to them for me and for yourself.')

But what I hear these days is that Jesus was very rich. The argument is that "for Roman soldiers to cast lots for his garment, it means it must have been very expensive. And for him to afford such, he had to be very rich".

Now is there any chance that they cast lots just because it was already meant to be so? Is there a chance they cast lots because there was no point tearing it to pieces n sharing it?

Ok Even if the garment was as expensive as they paint it, Is it enough to conclude that some is very rich just because of what they're wearing? Have we not seen people wearing expensive clothes even when their account is in red? Syncan is one example cheesy Wait until u see my sister Salc in church on Sundays,you'll understand what I mean cheesy

I need clarification on this from brethren o incase I'm missing something

I believe the lot the soldiers cast for Jesus' cloth has nothing to do with it being expensive or not but the fulfilment of Ps 22:18,
