would we be needing three different fabrics of which two will be the same pattern but different colors for the third dress
Re: DIY (do It Yourself) & Sew Along by goforwardagu: 1:49pm On Jul 08, 2014
hello,am in tooo oh

on the voting, since the 3 gowns av the same silhouette only different in their sleeves,

i think you should just go ahead and teach the basic shift dress and can explain the differences while teaching.

are we using pattern or freehand?

lastly u r very pretty grin

The third dress has more vote but guess what we will make the first and the 3rd as I would want to make something different for myself.

For those who can sew, Pls. Post pix of your fabrics while I start with those that can't sew.

The first thing to do is, take your full measurement for top, dress, skirt.

MEASUREMENT.

Length
Shoulder
Sleeve length
Roundsleeve
Half length
Waist
Hips
Neck
Arm
Armhole
Nipple to nipple
Shoulder to under bust
Shoulder to nipple point

HOW TO TAKE MEASUREMENT.

Bust: Place the measuring tape across your nipples and measure around the largest part of your chest. Be sure to keep the tape parallel to the floor.

Chest: Place the measuring tape just under your breasts/pecs and measure around the torso while keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Waist: Place the measuring tape about a 1/2 inch above your bellybutton (at the narrowest part of your waist) to measure around your torso. When measuring your waist, exhale and measure before inhaling again.

Hips: Place the measuring tape across the widest part of your hips/buttocks and measure all the way around while keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Upper arm: Measure around the largest part of each arm (above the elbow).

Forearm: Measure around the largest part of each arm (below the elbow).

Neck: Measure around the largest part of the neck.
