The one suggested by iclass has a lot going on, would not fit/flatter all body types and might scare away beginners wink

I vote for something which is slightly off-shoulder with princess seam and a flared peplum at the waist line.

Hmm all styles are good but let's consider the time and skill level wen sending pix as we all know it's ember season and lots of designers and tailors are very busy, we should do something simple and easy to teach and understand by all.

Am Ok with whichever it's decided.
Re: DIY (do It Yourself) & Sew Along by kemesty(f): 8:21pm On Nov 22, 2014
I go with arakulture's suggestion. My hands are really full this period. Let's make something easier probably with a peplum at the base since most of us are just beginning to sew.
You become pro with constant practice and making and correcting mistakes. So let's not be in a rush as it can cause more confusion than learning.
Having a basic knowledge can help you manipulate complex styles. I will upload pics later.

Let's do dat@ kemestry....go ahead with d training dear..

Also, still expecting pix for our skirt oooo, I know most of us are busy but d point of this thread is to do simple Diy dat people can easily follow not necessarily sewing alone but simple stuff u can do urself and be proud of but I notice most of us are silent observers and we only comment for us to learn certain stuff and refuse to make effort with d projects.

Pls. My peeps let's make effort. I run a very busy schedule and deadlines as a fashion designer and I still check in here every now and then.

The dress has three blocks
-the main body of dress
-the peplum which is at the base and of course
-the sleeves
This is a way of introduction to make learning easier and understanding simple.
We are starting with the main body of the dress.
Please post pics of your fabrics, take measurements and let's roll.

Re: DIY (do It Yourself) & Sew Along by Nobody: 8:09pm On Nov 27, 2014
I stock all kinds of fabrics from chiffon, silk, lace, Ankara, cotton etc and can also get for u if I don't have. Thx @ bimbam.

The fabric u saw it's called cord lace / guipire lace, they comes in different grades and prices and they have no fix price so the price varies from how seller A buys and seller B buys.

Price from 4k per yard upwards for d high ones and 2500 upwards for d medium types and d low grades from 1500 up

So u see there us something for everyone.

Hi everyone
For those using lace fabric for this project would as well need to line the lace with tafeta or satin fabric in addition to the lining you will use.
Materials needed for this blouse
* lining
* tafeta / satin ( for those who are making this blouse with lace)
* matching thread
* zip
* lots of patience
Here's my fabric
