Nigeria lack maintenance culture. I blame to authorities who spend money to build without also contracting out the Maintenance of such projects. I mean Maintenance should always be included in the contract. In fact giving it to a separate company to will even be better or the ones that did it initially.

Terrible..... Recently visited Nigeria and i must say i was not impressed at all.....

Yes, a few things have changed but still, the basics are still not up to the required standard.....

Toilets in the departure lounge wasn't bad, apart from the lack of toilet rolls... it was clean and cleaners were about doing their job.

The departure lounge itself is a mess.....

The shops in the duty free zone still lacks the appeal...

A bit of an improvement around the customs area.


Coming in, the queues weren't orderly, needs better management

There needs to be more than one or two conveyor belts ... for Gods sake, i waited over an hour to get a second piece of luggage

The arrival and departure halls need to be sorted out......

And the touting and disorderliness outside of the airport premises needs to be better managed.

It is a national disgrace the state of that airport and the pace at which reforms and works are being done.

I always say this! Nigerian politicians understand the psychology of Nigerians. All they do is cosmetic development which only lasts for a short term before it fades away. Then another regime will come and use it as a campaign agenda. Nobody should blame the contractors. After the quotation for the project has been given and the amount disbursed, they have to settle certain individuals with more than 60% of the money. Now how do you want a standard job when it is done with less than half the required amount?

When the remodeling work is complete, the international terminal would have a total of 9 baggage carousels/conveyor belts.

I hope these conveyor systems won't be sounding like lister diesel generators like the current one when they finish sir. Having 9 systems running like the current one may make one think the aircraft landed in a production factory instead of an airport.

The work at that airport is an eyesore.
In a country where things even pretend to work (not that it works),the woman and the contractor who was awarded that job will be defending themselves in the court of law and on their way to jail. I went to pee in the bathroom a week after the departure was declared open with fanfare and the urinals were leaking,the floor was flooded and two of the urinals were closed to the public as they were out of order. This was barely a week after the launch.
