I'm an academic, so in my academic circles, I freely discuss about my irreligiousity and I'm notorious for shutting religious academics up in my school. To their credit, they're much easier to debate than folks on Nairaland because they are scientifically minded, and are given to reason.

Whenever I visit my parent's home though, I'm a closet atheist, not because my family will harm me, but because my mama is quite the drama queen, so I don't want to ruffle her feathers because no matter what, mummy is mummy, if you know what I mean...

I try as much as possible to hide and blend in because I live a very conservative society.
Then I started meeting people with like minds, you will be surprised with the number of young Nigeria that don't give a Bleep about religion, all they need is just the right medium.

My parent are not that super religious, hence it is easy to tell them I dknt observe five daily prayers again because I don't believe in Religion. My mother we always say " keep to yourself son, dont go around telling people".

My only problem is with my fiance, she is deep and it will take time before grasp my religious view....I can seriously understand her and I'm already to accommodate that.

I have very good friens I can always talk to about religion. luckily my best friend was also a born muslim but he is seeing things from my that perspective now... we just laugh over religious simon now

Every body knows am irreligious, parents ,friends, teachers, but I dear not refute or challenge a respected deep rooted religionists head on, they will skin me alive with their gullible ,unreasonable mindset. Am always alone ,never met any one offline with the same views on religion.

One time I tried atheism and found it boring as hell......they had no holidays so that's why I gave up on them pointless atheists.

I doubt if these Atheists are known by their families and friends, as to their religious stance.

My colleagues are all awear that am not a religions person...we had uncountless religions debates in the office so when issues that has to do with religion spring up like they want to go for prayer,I will be excepted.

My mum is not aware am agnostic don't want to break her heart she is a deaconess in Assemblies of God
