My dad is well known almost all over the Assemblies of God churches in Aba. An Organist by profession, a music tutor and a Trinity College of Music graduate, he'd be more than heart broken to learn that one of his sons(his favourite) is an agnostic.

The wickedness humans do to each other is enough evidence that there's no heaven/hell..

I think everyone who considers him or herself my friend knows. My folks know too, but it's a grown up family so not much probs there. I'm past my militant atheist phase so now in conversation and interactions with others, work or otherwise I don't bring it up else if absolutely necessary. I just try to be the voice of reason... rational thought during discussions but I now very much try to keep the arguments healthy; agree to disagree kind of thing. The "Mrs" knows and I think we're doing the meet each other half way kind of thing.

I had always had doubts about God since my early teens. I was also fascinated with world history as an adolescent and so I realized that before Yahweh and Allah there were so many others. Now I do not see what goodies are exclusive to born again Christians or devout muslims, good health, wealth, happiness? I think there are happy Hindus and Buddhist as well. I remain a discreet agnostic till the day I see angels dropping outta the skies blowing trumpets.

This is what false religion has done to many. All the so-called atheists and agnostics were "converted" by false religions' bad fruitage so they have come to see religion in the negative light. Many of them still know that there is 'a God'. That is why under severe illhealth, intense suffering, uncertainty, death of loved ones you often hear atheists cry out: "Oh God, please help me". In essence many "neo-atheists" have nothing against their maker. Their religions of birth have simply failed in letting them know Him.

For now, I wish them luck till the day something will make them know that there is God.

Although I'm not an atheist per say...I'm no where near religious. Matter of fact, I despise religion.
Everyone around me knows about me being an Agnostic-deist. Why would I hide it?

My dad is a pastor incharge of a Rccg parish, my mom and siblings all hold respective posts in the church. I am the "black sheep" and I have never hidden it. My dad has come to terms with it, my mom doesn't care. My siblings even join me in mocking religion sometimes. I know two of them who will eventually break free. My wife is a Muslim she doesn't even bother me, at least I buy ram for her sallah celebrations annually. That one don reach.

with civilization, african traditional religion would have by now modernised like christianity, islamic and budaism, but because we are to low in reasoning, we were made to understand that all those time, we have been worshiping lucifer just because we were sacrifising some chicken, goats and sheeps to an imaginary god. But none of us question their bible where it was written that Abraham, moses, elijah and so on made some rituals too, let me not even quote some places where humans were sacrificed in that their bible.
