Anaskie: All that is besides the point.. statements such as the ones OBA made have deepened hatred and can/will cause some deaths within and outside Lagos. will add salt on a festering wound. we know yorubas hate igbos vice-versa but people go about their business because no one is pouring petrol into the fire. but now that this illiterate OBA who cannot learn from the OBA of benin on tact and wisdom has off-loaded a tanker of PMS on the issue.. he will burn with it. 5 Likes 3 Shares |

EggovinMma: My Igbo brothers & sisters still angry at the recent utterances from the Oba of Lagos should read this. He has indirectly apologised through another monarch and I think this should suffice. I believe he does not want to do this himself so as not to be seen as weak by his subjects and this is understandable. Please let us accept this proxy apology and move on. Let there be peace and God bless us all. In another development, some Yoruba monarchs asked Igbo people to forgive the Oba adding that Yoruba and Igbo will continue living peacefully side by side. The Yoruba traditional rulers made their position known yesterday as they hosted Igbo leaders from different parts of Lagos, Vanguard provides. Oba Kayode Akinyemi, the Alabirun of Ikare, speaking on behalf of seven other Obas, insisted that Akiolu’s statement, which generated many angry reactions, should be seen as a slip of the tongue. Gordian Dimojiaku, the Eze-Ndigbo of Amuwo-Oriade, said he had been present at the meeting when the Oba made the comment. Dimojiaku noted that the speaker did not mean any harm to Igbo. http://www.naij.com/417718-nigerian-security-taking-action-on-oba-akiolu.html 2 Likes |

Good one. A petition should also be made to International Criminal Court of Justice. Unfortunately for the Oba, the Chairman of the National Human Right Commission in Nigeria is an Igbo man. This matter must be treated with all the seriousness it deserves because if the election result do not go the Oba's way, the Igbos will suffer for it. It is better to scream now than to soft peddle the issue. The Oba spoke ignorantly, however, his followers are as ignorant as himself and may carry out his bidding, in the view of pleasing their monarch. This matter must be resolve squarely to avoid future confrontations. People should learn to go and read the constitution, the supreme law of the land and understand the provisions contained in it. I guess the Oba would be wondering how come his statement is creating so much tension in the country. If he likes he should not apologize or retract his statement, however, he must know that the blood of every Igbo resident in Lagos is on his head and the family of any Igbo man that dies after the election has the right to take the Oba to court. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

On one point, I am not sorry for the Oba. He was a PDP person from time. That is why Jagaban and Buhari are not even coming to his aid. Don Jazzy said it all, that he uttered that foolish statement to make Ambode lose Lagos. I'm glad he's landing in his own pit. I never liked Oba of Lagos from time. He speaks from both sides of the mouth like a good Nigerian Police man that he was would do. He can never be like Alafin of Oyo. Secondly, the igbos in Lagos are not helping matter. They need to pray and really pray Ambode does not win because that will set the end for the hospitality of the Yorubas to the Igbos in Lagos. There will be no help from the center because the Northerners do not even want to hear anything Igbos. So thread carefully. You are now in a minority party and you need to be wise. The Yorubas and Hausas in Lagos are already planning to vote Ambode so JK will only need a miracle this time and with the hatred brewing Yorubas are becoming united to vote JK out and Ambode in. 6 Likes 1 Share |

ElekeNtioba: What crime will you say the Oba committed when you get there? You've probably used more inciteful statements than him. You are giving yourself online relevance. Just watch lagos politics in 4D. You will be dissapointed when even Agabje will go to his palace and prosptrate like panla. Besides Haque does not deal with magun, juju, gbetugbetu ayelala and their brothers Ok go to Haque and tell us later how it turned out. 3 Likes |

This is y I so much respect the Oba of Benin. That dude has earned the respect of all His subjects to the fullest. Respect is reciprocal. The Oba of Lagos just lowered His personality for all and sundry to throw insults at Him. It unfortunate! His threat is not only Socially unacceptable but morally unthinkable, ethically regrettable and legally contestable. The last, being the reason for this tread. His statement is like is a glowing splint of fire waiting for fuel... you could either be fanning the flames or quenching it. Be warned! 5 Likes 1 Share |

Jwonder4eva: Sometimes i wonder how foolishly sturbborn some people can be. The Oba has said He was quoted out of context APC has disociated itself from the Oba Tinubu had apologized and even explined in details how igbos hve been favoured by APC these 16yrs Ambode has distant himself from the speech. Wat else do they want? Now look at this post implying that the Oba of Lagos is ... The opc is now threatening fire on anyone that abuses the Oba. look here friends, you cant abuse the oba as you abused Jonathan and i imploy all igbos to maintain a status quo bevause if trouble starts, they will pray to turn bavk the hands of time.BE WARNED A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE REASONABLE 4 Likes |
