Did the court injunction say that frcn didn't have legal backing rather they said its witch hunt...Now why won't subsequent probe be seen as witch hunt too...onuku

That you rushed to court to stop probe. does it make you innocent?... what are you hiding?...what don't you want us to see and hear?...ewu

Why has sanusi being submitting his annual reports to frcn if you think they have no legal backing...anumanu

Reply me with insults again and I will let you see that I won't "struggle" to insult you more...afoanu like u

Hehehehe... Let me first start by insulting you formally - Your brain would have better use as food for Clifford Orji than on your head!

Now back to the matter, does EFCC being a federal agency mean it is saddled with the responsibility of making accounting standards and regulations as it relates to the accounting profession? NO! EFCC investigates financial crimes like the one Sanusi is alleged to have committed. It's stupid, idiotic and foolish to think FRCN was investigating any financial crime when that is outside its purview. Rather, GEJ was bent on using anything to push Sanusi away. If he's serious, the EFCC should have investigated it and should still be investigating it.

You and that protection seeking hypocrite should start putting your brains to better use.

Fine...let's go this way...

1)Emphasis by buhari has been only on NNPC...so it means he's not interested in others...

Yes, emphasis is on NNPC and everyone knows why. The noise generated by the NNPC scandal didn't start today. So, you cannot fault GMB for that. The focus should be on the fact that Nigerians demanded a probe of the allegation, GEJ contracted PWC for a forensic audit and the "audit" report is ready for implementation of the findings.

Whynotthetruth:
2)Buhari by his own words has acquitted sanusi just like he did for abacha...so do I need any other evidence to see where he's going?...
I do not get what you mean by Buhari acquitted Sanusi. Was Sanusi indicted by anyone or by PWC?[/quote]

Whynotthetruth:
3)Sanusi is now part of his voice echoing NNPc but ignoring CBN...is CBN a minor agency here...The world sees CBN more than they see NNPC so CBN should be clean first....if CBN fails, Nigeria dies...if NPC fails, Nigeria is merely in coma....

4)On appeal, Jonathan can't appeal because of national security...sanusi has been made emir before any appeal can ensue....emir is sacred to Hausa/Fulani both politically, religiously and economically...We are living witness to what happened when a special adviser issued just a query to late emir bayero...

It is wicked for anyone to say Sanusi is GMB's voice. When SLS raised the alarm on NNPC unremitted money, not a single Nigerian had known if GMB will be president or not. In the case of CBN, I earlier pointed out that SLS got a High Court judgment against prosecution. The FG had a choice to appeal the judgment even before SLS became emir but it chose not to. So, whose fault is this? And I equally submitted that GMB will eventually sanitize CBN in his fight against corruption but he may not probe GEJ/FG's case against SLS because that case is already dead since FG failed to challenge the court's decision.

Whynotthetruth:
5)In all, we have NNPC probe report and we have CBN probe report...let buhari visit the two reports because they are all under Jonathan administration...Nothing more...
He cannot be blind to one report and pick the other...that's selective prosecution and selective justice...

Let's be sincere to ourselves, there was nothing like a probe report on CBN. The FRC is not empowered by law to probe CBN. If SLS had actually committed any crime, FG/GEJ should have used EFCC to prosecute him. Besides, GEJ/FG displayed their naivety and crude way of witch-hunting by only starting to establish any financial misdeeds against SLS after he had revealed the NNPC unremitted money. The way the show was handled betrayed their sincerity.

Whynotthetruth:
6)Note that sanusi stopped deeper investigation into his probe with the court injunction... let buhari do deeper investigation into NNPC and into CBN...shikena

I trust GMB to do what is required in any sector found lacking. Like I said, GEJ/FG had the chance to continue the case through appeal but never deemed it necessary.

The summary is, GMB has not started any probe nor said he will re-probe NNPC but that he will look into the probe report.

NNPC/CBN/NDDC/NPA/FIRS/Customs and many other such big agencies/corporations will at one time or the other be specially looked into by GMB's administration whether we like it or not because the incoming president, more than anyone of us knows where the main corruption killing Nigeria is taking place.
Without looking at the books of those corporations, where or how do you think the government intend to plug the leakages they've been talking of?

FEAR YE NOT FOR GMB WILL BE JUST WITH ALL. Nigeria first before anything else.

As much as Barcanista tries to prove Brilliant, I can not help but believing he is truly dull. An articulate person will know that the case held no ground in court. It was a clear case of witch hunt.

GEJ and co. his the report to hide their stolen funds. Then Barcanista brings up an accusatory document and failed to read the defense of the report.

If Barcanista was countering Emir Sanusi's defense, it might make sense. But, to bring an allege report, is the height of dullness and act to deceive nairalanders.

It is this kind of people that advised GEJ during his reign and campaign that made him lose his respect and election.

Its people like you that will say NASS have no power to investigate. Investigation, Probe and Prosecution are 3 different things!

@BARCNISTA

Ur write up is indeed silly at best. FRCN is not an investigating authority by virtue of the law establishing her. FRCN is charged with checking, regulating/encouraging strict adherence to acceptable accounting/auditing standard in Nigeria. FRCN indicting Sanusi is way off her jurisdiction n d timing is questionable. FG indictment letter was hurriedly written on d heels of 20b NNPC scandal- long after FRCN report was submitted to FG. Sanusi claimed in saw the FRCN indictment letter for the first time along side d suspension letter. FG did not dispute this claim. Is this how Govt operate?

During the Famous ASUU strike - FG used the intervention project executed by CBN as a bargaining chip with ASUU. Some of the accusations of financial recklessness were based on Sanusi fund this projects. The money never went into Sanusi account nor private pocket like cronies of ur pay master GEJ. GEJ has never suspended or sacked any of his corrupt cronies even when d accusation re in d public domain.

CBN annual income grew more than 60% ( u can check this figures for urself) under Sanusi supervision. FG indictment of Sanusi on increase of recurrent expenditure is sadistic, myopic and clueless. Recurrent expenditure increase precipitated the rise in total generated revenue - a large chunk of which was funneled to FG account. Again Gej n Gang stole them all.

People like Barcanista re responsible for d retrogressive gear Nigeria is driving on now - Sanusi is no longer CBN governor now - What is ur clueless pay master waiting for? Has he prosecuted him if FRCN indictment is true? The court stopped d FRCN from investigating cos she lack the power by law establishing her. Gej should use the relevant agencies charged with such responsibilities(Police, EFCC, ICPC) to investigate.

Your Sanusi is not just a thief but a liar! Did he respond to frcn allegations against him when he was asked to or not? It was when it became clear to him that his game was up that he raised nonsense alarm of $20b just to divert attention. Why didn't he elect to prove his innocence rather than run from probe?

Btw: all supervisory body including FRC have power to investigate but need Prosecuting Agencies to prosecute.

@barcanista let me start with the conclusion "if they see nothing wrong with....." This shows you're working for a paymaster, not a patriot working for the interest of Nigerians you claim.. Your post should therefore be disregarded

On the case of FRCN, it was very clear that the institution had found Sanusi guilty even before investigation, what then did they want to investigate when they had already written to the president asking him to suspend Sanusi for fraud "even without investigation"? This was what the Lagos court based its judgement on.. You already know this anyway, but this clarification is meant for the unsuspecting whom this your article is meant for

On the case of Professor Yemi Osinbajo's "professional" services to Sanusi's witch-hunt, you of all people should know that it is "ethically" wrong to blame a lawyer for offering professional services to a client who approaches them, especially when they believe Their client is being witch haunted, i believe you're simply acting out the remaining part of the hate documentary on Osinbajo which the law court stopped the PDP from releasing before the election

On the issue of the missing $20 billion dollars, we both have seen the report of PWC which stated unequivocally "This report cannot be trusted" and also "The CBN refused to open its books for audit".. What more could've been more relieving for you and I if the CBN had opened its books so we may see the extent of Sanusi's crime as being alleged by FRCN?

Conclusion: This article is malicious, intended to deceive the unsuspecting public and aimed at diverting the attention of the good people of Nigeria from what is possible to be one of the greatest frauds perpetrated by a sitting democratic government in the history of Nigeria using Nigeria's major source of livelihood at the moment. The article should therefore be ignored and disregarded as a cheap blackmail targeted at the incoming government of Buhari.

God Bless Nigeria.

Since I was born, I have never witness the kind of hypocrisy, double standard and demonisation that is currently perpetrated by Muhammadu Buhari, the APC, Alhaji Sanusi, Osinbajo and their "good governance crusaders" against the person of President Goodluck Jonathan, Allison Madekwe, and other government officials.

Alhajis Buhari and Sanusi and APC have been going about using every platform to talk about a "missing $20b", cheered by their hypocritical followers that pride themselves as good governance crusaders. They have deliberately gone blind over the fraud of CBN under Sanusi as outlined by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria report in February 2014.

Sanusi Indicted And Removed For Fraud
According to the report (see below) Sanusi was indicted for Gross Misconduct that bothers on fraud and financial recklessness among other offence. The FRCN subsequently advised Mr President to remove Lamido Sanusi from office for further investigation and probe after the explanation of Sanusi appeared more like a tale and outrightly illogical according to FRCN. The council indicates that the explanation provided by Sanusi is “a clear display of incompetence, nonchalance, fraud, wastefulness, and abuse of due process and deliberate efforts to misrepresent facts on the part of the leadership of the CBN.”

The council advised the President to exercise the powers conferred on him by Section 11(2)(f) of the CBN Act 2007 or invoke Section 11(2)(c) of the said Act “and cause the governor and the deputy governors to cease from holding office in the CBN.”

April 2014: VP-elect Yemi Osibanjo Filed Case To Stop Sanusi Probe
Rather than Sanusi to prove his innocence in court, he filed a case in Federal High Court, Lagos to STOP FRCN and Other Security Agencies from investigating and prosecuting him through three Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, Dr. Kanyinsola Ajayi and Kola Awodien.
http://www.theguardianmobile.com/readNewsItem1.php?nid=24587

13 May 2014: Lagos Judge Tshoho Grants Sanusi Prayers
High Court Judge John Tshoho rather than uphold the constitutional powers of FRCN to investigate probe Sanusi, he granted the prayers of Lamido Sanusi and BARRED FRCN from further investigation or probing Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. In his own words...
“Prejudice is very pronounced in the language of that document. The language of the briefing note (transmitted by the FRCN to the presidency) conveys a sense of the defendant desperately goading the presidency to deal with the plaintiff,”
“The plaintiff submitting himself for investigation (by FRCN) is like the cockroach finding itself in the midst of fowls. Such a cockroach cannot be innocent,”.

http://www.tv360nigeria.com/?p=11923

Despite the fact the President Jonathan commissioned PWC to audit NNPC books to ascertain the veracity or otherwise of Sanusi's claim, Buhari, APC, Sanusi and their online agents that parade themselves as good governance and anticorruption apostles have been crying blue murder but refused to comment on the FRCN report nor the APC's VP elect role in shielding Sanusi for probe.

April 26, 2015: Buhari's Display of Hypocrisy
In his usual hypocrisy, General Buahri vowed to re-visit the $20b allegation but said NOTHING about the FRCN report. In his own word... “Imagine a situation where the former CBN governor who by God ‘s grace would later become the  Emir of Kano raised an  issue of missing billions of money, not in Naira but in Dollars, $20 billion.
“What happened, instead of investigating to know whether it was true that the money was missing or not, they simply found a reason to remove him. So these are the issues we are talking about…"

Contrary to the lies of Alhaji Buhari, Sanusi wasn't removed because he raised alarm, he was removed because he was indicted by FRCN. Jonathan also never kept mute, he commissioned PWC to audit the books. Buhari was also blind to talk about prosecuting Sanusi for the CBN fraud. Perhaps the Emir is as "incorruptible" as him(Buhari)

Lamido Sanusi and Stella Oduah
The so-called APC and their praise-singers have never for once called for the revisiting of the FRCN report, oh because it doesn't favor them. Ironically, these people were quick to call for the ouster of Stella Oduah that was indicted for "lesser" offence but demonised Goodluck Jonathan for suspending Sanusi that has lots of indictment on his neck.

Conclusion
Buhari, Sanusi and APC can continue in their hypocritical path of self-deception, but every attempt to twist history, intimidate or demonise Dr. Goodluck Ebelemi Azikiwe Jonathan shall be fully resisted. Since they see nothing wrong in the fraud of CBN under Sanusi of which they are beneficiaries, then they should see nothing wrong in whatever happens in NNPC or any Agency under Jonathan irrespective of whether or not any money is missing.

May God Help Us All...
And yet. His still moving around nigeria freely with royalty, even when his not covered by immunity. That's very funny of the Gov't.
If they truly have these evidences, what are they waiting for!
Come out and clarify better on the subsidy on kerosene in the last 5years, considering during these period kerosene was sold to the public at 150, 160/ ltr.
Your conclusion is surprising.
We talking of cleaning the system but your bring or diging up faults of their's. Like I said if they did hav evidences against them, prosecute them with immediate effect, and also investigate his allegations not dig 1 to cover another.

Good. But where did you get the erroneous impression that GMB's fight against corruption will be selective?
The NNPC probe may actually indict more Northerners than Southerners.

Like GMB said, he doesn't intend to start probing all past cases of corruption but what has been probed and which reports are available, he will work to implement recommendations of such reports. If anyone will oppose this, the question should be why were those investigations launched then?

With the way the corruption war will be fought, I expect that many Hausas, Igbos, Yorubas, Ijaws and other nationalities will be affected. I do not mind if it consumes my tribesmen provided they've been properly tried.

Now to the CBN case, there was a High Court judgement to stop the prosecution. Why did FG fail to appeal the judgment if it was not satisfied? Why must we now want to blackmail GMB with that case since it is closed, according to our legal procedures?

Please leave sentiment aside and let's see how the elected president prosecute the war against corruption and institutionalized stealing.

GBAM!!!

With all the SANs the FG has access to they couldn't build a case to appeal the judgement but Barcanista will like to convince us that because he typed Prof Osinbajo's name in bold the FG's hands were tied

Please don't come here and mislead the public, FRCN has no prosecutorial or even investigative (criminal) powers, that power belongs to the ICPC, EFCC, the Nigerian Police and other organs. Please read the FRCN act to know the limit of its powers. If the FRCN had any case against Sanusi, the best they can do is to pass their info to appropriate authorities. May i ask,how many people had FRCN ever investigated and prosecuted or was FRCN only formed for Sanusi?

FRCN did not even carry out any investigation, all they did was to ask for the audited accounts of CBN and then out of the top of their heads, they say this amount is too much and that amount is too high and so Sanusi stole money.

You are comparing Stella Oduah's case to Sanusi's case? Stella odua was indicted by the House of Reps, she was even indicted by the investigative panel set up by the presidency. Stella Oduah was indicted for buying Cars at exorbitant prices without budgetary approvals and without following due process.Up till today, we are yet to see the two BMWs that was bought for $1.6 million. I feel sorry for people that take you serious.

Nice post @Barcanista, well detailed. The problem most of our youths are having is, they don't take time to "THINK". Every crime committed by any politician in this country should dealt with equally without any sentiments. Let's take time and reason things before insulting anybody here. #None of the politicians cares about you.. just my view.
