Wouldn't have been a problem waiting till marriage...but for a NIGERIAN, non-virgin lady who to say "No sex before marriage"...that's a RED FLAG. Here's why
1. Our ladies are not sincere, calculating, and secretive.
2. Our girls are SEXUALLY ACTIVE. Once they have tasted it, they are hooked and it takes the grace of God to re dedicate oneself as well as a lot of counseling and discipline
3. There are TOO MANY INSTANCES where a lady to be married is suddenly discovered to be pregnant for another guy and her intended hasn't touched her or ladies have been caught/known to be unfaithful to their intended during courtship.
4. Over time I've befriended lots of ladies and I have engaged them in lengthy discussions so as to get into their head and know how they think. What I found out scared the living sh*t out of me

I understand your point. That is 'abstinence' not 'celibacy'. Moreover, if you want to be celibate, it doesn't come with a time range. I know a lot of celibate people. I have A LOT as friend. They will frown at your definition of celibacy. If you want to be celibate, it is for life. There are married celibate, they give birth to their kids through various methods I won't like to state here.

Take for example I am 'abstaining' that doesn't make me celibate cos I still have plans to come out of 'abstinence'. Celibates find that interchangeable use of celibacy and abstinence insulting. That's what I want to correct about your notion of celibacy.

Your suggestion to the discourse is actually right, such person might want to 'abstain'. However, abstinence after 'tasting' that physical pleasure is very difficult and takes time. This is my fourth year of abstinence, it is not religious motivated but morally. When I started it, it was very difficult. In addition, ladies that have tasted the 'real' physical pleasure find it hard to abstain. Everything is complicated... I'll need to stop here, I don't like given my inputs in discourse like this, I prefer to read people's ignorant comments.

If one has control over one's sexual indulgence, one will have a very strong mental strength, focus, determination, and rarely fall victim of trap cos 'ladies' are the best weapon to nail a guy.

ok. so it hapens that i initially met this lady and she was all love and stuff. i told her i wanted sex and she said she has made a promise to God that no sex before marriage.
ok. i asked her if she was a virgin and she said no but that she still will not have sex with me.
after that we broke things off. later we reconnected and the issue came up. she came to my place and she said it is our first date that sex is not acceptable that I should wait. i found out about her sexual history and from what she herself said, i knew it was one BLOODY history. even told me that she can go 45 mins and not get tired. she told me she can kill me in bed.

the point is that the no sex before marriage thing is mostly bullshit.

you will be very lucky to meet the one person with whom it is really worth it. with most women, it is worth nothing. she's sexing someone else somewhere.

IMO

I think there are two things that could justify a lady telling her guy that she wants to be celibate until marriage

1) The way she actually tells him this.
It should not be on religious grounds or because she just somehow magically decided to make the decision. Rather she should have given it some thought & have compelling reasons; perhaps because she wants to have a more meaningful relationship or explore other ways of enjoying each others company. The reason has to show that the indeed values the relationship otherwise the guy would most likely feel cheated. After all most guys are attracted to ladies for their physical attributes.

2) What she can actually offer
As you can imagine, if the lady in question is still in school, unemployed or lacking vision & drive most guys wouldn't even consider it especially successful guys. These guys usually have a number of old friends and acquaintances making passes at them & wouldn't settle for a boring sex-less relationship. However if she handles her finances and adds some spice to the relationship, hey she's an asset; what's a couple of months without sex.

In a nutshell, I think only sophisticated & intelligent women can pull this off without settling for their churches pastor.
