charlsecy:What kind of childish thinking is this? So we must always specify that she is to ask her son to give us the protection we ask her? Lets reason a bit. I am the second son of my mother who is married to my very rich father. I also have an elder brother who is in charge of all my father's businesses and indeed has my father's authority to do whatever he so pleases with his business. Now I need to something from my father's business and I ask my mother. According to you I must also specify that she must ask my eldest brother for it before my request is considered legitimate? You my friend are certainly funny. 1 Like |

honourhim: You seem very confused to me. Hw come the story has changed from "you worship Mary the mother of God" to "It's not Mary the mother of God that you honour but Mary the mermaid" I'm not sure the god you worship but the last time i checked, "your Mary the mermaid " is not the blessed mother of our lord Jesus Christ who i honour. Do you consider those in heaven as dead? I will suggest you read Rev. 12:1-6 it says: And a great sign appeared in heaven: A WOMAN CLOTHED WITH THE SUN, WITH THE MOON UNDER HER FEET, AND ON HER HEAD A CROWN OF 12 STARS!. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth .... (Read from 1-6) Also, more importantly, read Rev. 12:13-17 It says: "And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time. The serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, and the earth opened it's mouth and swallowed the river that the dragon had poured from his mouth. ** pay attention to this verse** Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus". Now the question is, are you one of her offspring? Or is the dragon/devil using you to fight her offspring (children of the Almighty God,those who accepts her as their mother as the bible instructed)? The ball is in your court, my friend! 3 Likes 3 Shares |

Syncan: The 24 elders are not Saints of God. They were never earthly human beings. They are heavenly beings. Part of their roles and the roles of angels is presenting the prayers of the church before God. They don't speak and intercede for humans. Christ's job in heaven isn't to carry all the prayers of the church to God. He defends you before God, and gives God reasons why he should answer your prayers, forgive your sins and save you etc. So you see, it's different from the work of the Angels. 1 Like |

italo: We aren't just talking about prayer. We're talking about asking the saints in heaven to intercede for you. It's different from their endless duty, which is offering continual praise to God. 1 Like |

italo: Singing "You are Holy", even for a million times whether as a praise or prayer to God is completely worthwhile. But same cannot be said for those that repeat the following lines severally: "Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of you womb, Jesus Holy Mary mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death" Is that a praise or a prayer? If it's a praise, to whom is it directed. If it's a prayer, still to whom? Did you see anywhere in Revelations that the saints, Angels, 24 elders, or 4 living creatures were said to be praying for those on earth? Have you read any such from the letters of Paul, Peter, James and John to the early church? How then was it introduced into the church? 1 Like |

Ichiato:thanks for the question aii... U wanna be a catholic? There are sacraments to take. u must just have to go for catechism classes to understand a little about this great church of the living God, why I hav issues is personal because it takes d mind dat discern to know wen his or her believe is under attack. Some of my churchs doctrines have been compromised since the inception of the Vatican 2( if u knw wat it means), and d church is targetted cuz is d only stronghold of the christian faith from which ur young pastor broke out from to use canal wisdom and earthly manipulations to lure u into his personal believes and principles. Like I said I've already made my point, u've d liberty to ur belief and like I always say we will get ther by his grace only |

VcStunner:Cool down bro, I am a Catholic and I don't have any issues with the churchs teachings as far as Christianity is concerned neither do I have any pastor who broke out from the catholic church.btw I understand that your issues might be personal but also understand that you might not be the only who has that same issue or some experience of that issue hence I would advice you share your issues with someone you trust and not seek to always solve your problems yourself. I myself cannot claim my faith in the churchs teachings as always been strong but it only grew after I objectively seeked answers to my doubts. |

Ichiato: My friend I would like you to read a beautiful story in Act27. but for brevity "St. Paul was sailing to Rome and there was going to be a ship wreck. There were 246 persons on board the ship. All prayed for safety but in Act 27:14 an angel of the Lord revealed to St. Paul that it was for his sake that God had granted safety to the 246 on board. In the Catholic Church we know and do not hesitate to ask the angels and Saints to pray with us and for us. They are our allies. Make use of them |

charlsecy:Everything you said is merely according to your understanding. According to Catholic understanding, we ask Mary to deliver us (meaning we seek deliverance as a result of her prayers for us). Secondly, communicating with the creator can be done through an intermediary, just like any other communication. Now do you want to force your poor understanding of a Catholic prayer on Catholics...so that you can convict them? Or are you supposed to take their understanding of their own prayer into consideration? |

Ichiato:I hav really tried to sort it out to the point my parish priest was able to secure an appointment for me with the bishop of Yola diocese, I met the the Bishop after 2weeks and explained my self, brought up supporting documents and he read through. He outrightly told me his job is to secure the sheeps and with those documents in my hands I was a potential threat to the faithfuls. And right ther I was officially ex-communicated with couple of friend frm catholic church. So truly if u knw wat I knw now, u may hav sort for God elsewher or better still be a free thinker. italo: What's your point really? Praise can be an aspect of prayer. Still doesn't change anything. Praise alone can't replace effective prayer, which is supposed to be a communication with God. It's a 2 way thing. In Acts of the Apostles, Paul and Silas prayed and sang, before the prison doors and chains were broken. They are 2 activities that are interlinked, but it doesn't meant praise is equal to prayer. 1 Like |

Ichiato: italo: Don't be confused by my use of "In My Understanding." When I said that, I was only being humble. Actually, I meant, "According to Biblical principles." Biblically speaking, we cannot ask Mary "to deliver us from all dangers." ********** In Luke 11:1-13, Jesus gives us a valid guideline on how to pray, and it involves directing our prayers to His Father in Heaven...... in his Name, as shown by John 14:13 and John 16:23. "Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. [John 14:13; NASV] Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. [John 16:23; NASV] I want you to look at the Word of God and avoid teachings of men. How could someone teach what is clearly against the Word of the Master, and you accept that? 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: How Jesus Reacted To The Worship Of Mary by charlsecy(m): 10:59pm On Jul 06, 2015 |
italo:Yes... We pray to an entity we worship. The purpose of prayers is to commune with our Creator. The content may be: *Praise and thanksgiving *Invocation of GOD's Will *Request for forgiveness *Request for protection *Request for any other noble heart desires Check the Lord's Prayer at Luke 11:1-13, taught by Jesus Himself, you would see it contains all these elements including praises. 1 Like 1 Share |

charlsecy:According to biblical principles we cannot ask Mary to deliver us from dangers? Where in the bible is it written not to ask Mary? In Luke 11:1-13, Jesus gives us a valid guideline on how to pray, and it involves directing our prayers to His Father in Heaven...... in his Name, as shown by John 14:13 and John 16:23.Jesus gave us a valid guideline on how to pray but jesus never said that was the only valid way to pray to God. We ask Mary not because we believe Mary can by herself or of her will alone deliver us from dangers but because we believe her prayers to God Jesus Christ can indeed lead to our been delivered from dangers. If you can boldly go to your pastor for deliverance, your pastor who could indeed still be found wanting on the last day. How much more the mother of God who is already in heaven glorifying her son. Now you go and read your bible very well and tell me who should avoid the teachings of men between the both of us. |

ILIDEFI:I understand. This is another way of saying "I don't want to admit that praise is prayer because that would mean that Angels and Saints pray." That would mean the Catholics are right. We have seen many of your type...even those that are for more intelligent than you. That's why you Protestants have millions of denominations teaching contradictory doctrines. Hypocrisy. |
