Table—Ndokwasi -- This is clever. Nice. I like it. Wouldn't "Ihe" be in it as well, as in "ihe ndokwasi"? Ndokwasi just seems incomplete by itself. I've also heard someone refer to it as Okpokoro. Shoe—Akpukpo-ukwu -- Is that the general Igbo variant? We call it Agbai. Refrigerator—Igbe-ntuoyi -- Do you mean Igwe? And to add to the list. Window -- Mpio (don't know the general Igbo variant for it, but this is what we call it in our home). Door (as in the physical door, not path/way) -- Ibo (again, don't know the general Igbo variant for this one either). |
