Re: Fuel Scarcity: FG Should Legalize Illegal Refineries - Murray-Bruce by druid06(m): 12:28pm On Nov 17, 2015 |
The most logical sense is to build more refineries and refurbish/repair the 3(maybe 4) we have but trust the federal government not to do anything that would diminish their ability to keep it's citizens in bondage and in perpetual punishment. Although Ben Bruce has a good point, but it's altogether not a great one being that these illegal refineries produces substandard petrol products that might be detrimental to working machinery and what not. You also have to consider the harm that might come from using products from these illegal refineries because of the amateurish way they refine crude oil. 1 Like |

There are too many things to be considered first if illegal refineries should be legalised; Safety, Environment, quality of products etc. Our crude oil pipelines would also be in great trouble 5 Likes |

double0seven: Will you shut up there. Since you cant refine the products yourself, why don't you approach the illegal ones and register them, monitor them and determine how much they make. Is it not better than spending billions importing the same thing from outside. 3 Likes |

There is sense in what Senator Bruce said. Since we have the technical-know-how to refine our crude oil locally, why not register such businesses, retrain them, monitor them and ultimately increase competition and production capacity. At times I wonder if our politicians do not know what to do or they just want to punish Nigerians due to their selfish interest. Even Buhari that everyone thought will step on toes to revamp the economy of this nation, is equally allowing same cabals in power sector, oil and gas etc to kill this country. crying! |

CARLOSZ: Guy, you are wrong on this. If things have not been done rightly over the years, that does not justify the continuous tolling of the same wrong path. As PDP has tolled the wrong path over the years, APC shouldn't continue in the same direction; the essence of CHANGE! So, dude, let's hold the present administration accountable and leave the comparison factor out of our common growth and advancement! 1 Like |

The kind of weed this man smokes though. Vicboi1:you are as crazy as he is, wait, you're more crazy than he his. When the adverse effects of using the products of these refineries start showing up, it's people like you that'll be the first to scream blue murder. |

Vicboi1:They are in business because they steal their crude. Are you aware of the damage these refineries do to the environment? Do you know that they do not check the quality of their products? DO you know the damage illegally refined products can do to our vehicles? I do not support it because it will not be profitable for the operators, lead to waste of crude oil, damage the environment and also damage our vehicles. Coming from a Bayelsan who should be concerned about the already polluted environment just makes you shudder. I am beginning to belive the saying about Ben murray Bruce: "Looks like Obama, thinks like Obanikoro". 3 Likes |

does this man really have the common sense he preaches? why legalize illegal activities? if they are ready and sincere by applying for licence to operate a refinery, who will refuse them? dangote did follow the right channel and applied for licence to build one, and now he is building one of the biggest refinery in the country. i wonder why he people keep supporting this Twitter senator, when he never makes common sense at all. |
