What is all this noise about Pastors do this Pastors do that? If you guys think church is just a business, then I think you are not good investors not to start one. cheesy Moreover the initial post talked about Pastors and Imams, why don’t you talk about the latter; I want to think the moderator here is not a disguised Sharia policeman from Kano.
I also think Fashola or his spokesman here is smatter than you guys; he would only charge the Pastors and Imams that don’t depend on Tithes and Zakat. How do you differentiate on the streets? grin He just played a clever game on you!

there is really no cause for alarm, Gov. Fashola is right.
if you are being paid a salary clergy, imam or whatever post you hold then its only right to pay taxes.
The Gov is not talking about donations in churches or condemning pastors.
we are all citizens of the same state and thus the law is binding on us all,
and to NL posters using this topic as an excuse to condemn pastors, hmmnnn beware o!!!

There is no more room in Lagos State for free-loaders and scammers in Jesus gowns who are so used to taking that they have forgotten their LEGAL duty to give GENEROUSLY to the internal revenue office.

Bishop Oyedepo and Pastor Adeboye have their headquarters in Ogun State not Lagos.

Lets stop mentioning names. Lets stop condemning religous leaders.

We can't tell who the true messengers of God are, so we have to be careful lest we annoy God.

The issue here is whether our imams and pastor should pay taxes or not.

My opinion is a big YES.
The use roads built with taxpayers' money. They have police escorts. They use our airports. They earn money, so they ought to pay.
Afterall tithe is 10% of income. And they have several sources of income.

your thinking is what keeps us Africans from progressing. If people stopped caring about investing to make this World a better place, there would be no internet or indeed all the technological advancement of this modern era. we all have a duty to invest in a better world for today and coming generations. If all Nigerians played their part the country would not be in such a mess. Pastors and Imams have a duty of care to use the money donated by the public for the benefit of society at large not for their personal ostentatious living.

I find it appalling that those who criticize this guy know absolutely nothing about him or the way the RCCG operates. when many rccg graduates are jobless, adeboye did not see them

when many rccg member are living in squalor, he did not see them then

now that so many cant afford university education & the church has one, he did not see them &

yet he bought a 4billion naira jet which will incur millions in charges from just been parked in the hanger of an airport

with all the churchs in Nigeria, thing are still worse than ever.
the problem is pple like you & your so called men of God, some of who are actually "CON MEN ON THE PULPIT" threatening people with the wrath of God so as get them to follow you blindly without question
