Sauron, what is Yaradua achieving?
Re: Obasanjo F@#ked Up This Country by Fhemmmy: 9:30pm On Aug 14, 2009
Sagamite:

The key question is "what was the quality of life before Idiagbon and what was the quality of life after him and what advantages did he have in achieving it".

During Idiagbon, people started to queue for things and they still do.
During the time of Idiagbon, people started to clean 1st Saturday of the month and they still do.
During Idiagbon, stealing money was with caution, but during the time of OBJ, it was done with the help of EFCC

Putting Nigeria back on track. . . . .Where Abacha left us. . . .

Things were terrible before Idiagbon.
Shagari's regime was plagued with corrupt politicians and senseless politicial violence.
There was a reason Buhari/Idiagbon took over cos Nigeria as at then was on a slippery slope.

OBJ improved Naija to the point, we all are returning.

There's no place like home. . . .
OBJ did not improve Nigeria one jot. . . . .He ruined it.
A Nigerian quoted by the UNDP's human development report in 2002 remarked: "When we were in the military regime, we didn't get anything from the government but we had peace. Now we are in a democracy, we don't get anything from the government and we do not get peace".

That pretty much summed up OBJ's regime.

No, mate. Before OBJ we all wanted to settle in USA or UK.

Now we are all looking for that sweet job back home that did not exist before OBJ.

There will be a massive migration to the West again once things pick up.

people wanna go back home all cos of the recession, cos cost of living in Nigeria is far better than anywhere else, and if they can take their 10K$ or even max their credit card, they can settle and the fact that they are "Tokunbos" they have a better chance than the Nigeria breed.
So this has nothing to do with OBJ.
Most people are even going home to start pure water biz, so where is the job there?

Point of correction pls OBJ did not make  Umaru Yar'adua President God did on the judgement day both OBJ and YAR'whatever will answer Baba GOD based on the opportuinty given to both to better the of lifes of Nigerians which failed to do. The trend was there well before recession. Recession only accelerated it.

You want to blame OBJ for the mass of circa 28-38 yr olds without a job? Was it his regime that wasted their development or was it IBB and Abasha?

Cos OBJ has helped drive Naira to a level where almost everyone in diaspora in now a millionaire in naira, and since when u come Nija as Tokunbo, everyone wanna do biz with you and all that, so that was all that made the processes to be there and nothing that OBJ did.

So why did they not want to do the same in the 90s?

Or was cost of living in Nigeria then higher than the West?

Credit cards were not in existence then?

They were not Tokunbos then? Maybe they were Ramotas?

So how come you think it has nothing to do with OBJ? Please don't fib if you answer.

The average Nigerian graduates at the age of 23
Subtract OBJ's 8 years of failure from that and you get 15. . . . .Of course, this was more OBJ's fault than IBB or Abacha.

A higher % of uni graduates of recent have jobs than in the 90s. Everyone I know either works in a bank or telecomms. Thanks to OBJ policies.

In the 90s, most uni grads I knew were employed in unemployment and expected it well before graduation.
Re: Obasanjo F@#ked Up This Country by Sagamite(m): 10:11pm On Aug 14, 2009
The overall fact remains that Nigeria was in a rot in all aspect before OBJ.

He repaired some and did not repair some but did more than all previous presidents, as they only made ALL worse.

How many graduates were lying fallow in the 90s compared to what we have now.
You are looking at actual value not the employment ratio. . . . .  .
What is the ratio of employed graduates to the unemployed in the 90s compared to 2009?
If only you know the number of graduates our tertiary institutions are rolling out every year. . . . . .

Ask him.
cos now 95% of the graduands cant get a job.
Now university can take care of the students anymore.
Even the lecturers are worse than ever.
In the time of Buhari, the employee of govt at least work a lil compared to now, that none works at all, they dont even go to work, cos they have a morally bankrupt man as a leader.

No, I am looking at the ratio of professional and psuedo-professional jobs existing within both eras.

Yeah, OBJ regime incubated and encouraged the expansion of such institution and there viability. Feel free to add it to his achievements.

Professional jobs? There were lawyers, engineers, doctors, etc in leading institutions before OBJ came into power.
Granted, more Telecom companies and Banks sprang up in OBJ's time but that had to do with democracy than the pig in power.
Jabba The Hutt as a democratic president would have yielded the same results.
