Why can't she open the door for her nephew when she already knows the nephew on a personal level?
If she really knew Izeek, I bet she would have let him in unless she's just plain nasty.
Izeek has to tell me if he is the husband's blood nephew that the wife knows, and not the "Uncle buy me chewing gum" you see in Nigeria. cheesy

Exactly, you shouldn't expect to go to someone's house without prior notice even with family members.

@Izeek

How close were you to the family? Did the wife know you on a personal level? I'm asking because in Naija everyone you know or is older than you is your 'uncle'.

dude was my dad cousin,
practically lived in my house until my dad got him a job in u.ba.

while i was in skool in warri, he always pleaded i spent my hols or mid-term @ his place.
i knew the wife like the back of my palms, so u can imagine my suprise when she did what she did.

What you quoted was different from your case. Abi you want to lie you've not heard about relatives coming unannounced with their belongings not because they were stranded.

btw, my advice to all couples out there: DO NOT ALLOW ANY FAMILY MEMBERs whatsoever in your house. It should be only you and your wife.
