We need to quickly take action to end this madness. If possible have some USA citizens return at the point of entry just to send a message to Trump that he does not have monopoly of madness. Send at list 100 US citizens back in 24 hours and he will get the message clear. Tit for tat
Professor of law please take action now. Don't allow the US to take us for granted. Enough is enough. Do you all Nairalander a agree with me?

Why are they detained like criminals? The visa laws remain the same but why the harassment? I don't get. How can a pregnant woman be a threat to the United states??

Deportation of pregnant women has been there even before trump. I know of a woman that was denied entry, but luckily for her she got back to naija safely but had to deliver her baby immediately before completing her term due to the stress she had gone through

Emirati citizenship is not a birthright in Dubai
or UAE. Children born in Dubai will not
receive UAE citizenship .

I believe this was after the 24hrs delay and deportation..when the plane to Nigeria stopped over.

Deportation of pregnant women has been going on for ages though due to various reasons..main one being lying during the Visa interview.

This is the second case of Nigerian giving birth prematurely after been refused entry to US, last year a Nigerian woman gave birth to quadruple in the U.K ranking up £500000 unpaid bill. Sadly two of the twins died. She collapsed at Heathrow airport on arrival from US and was rushed to hospital

I know right? Most Naija women are now making it a do or die situation to born American Citizen baby. Even when some of them already known how risky it can be for both mother and child.

Gmajor:
she wants to born American citizen by all means abi?
Good for her

<<<In her visa, she did not say she was pregnant...She got the Visa before her pregnancy..
<<<She wants to cheat and come to US under the pretends of a tourist while she has another motive which was giving birth there
<<<If there should be complications during child birth, and she cannot afford it, it becomes the burden of tax payers over there...Who wants to slave for hours working only for it to be deducted as tax..to be used in paying the bill of a foreigner who deliberately knew what she was doing...and I don't know why it escape their memory that immigration officers are tax payers too.

Nigeria will end up in the losing end if our government takes that approach. For now, Nigeria needs the US more than the US needs Nigeria - the big brother factor.

Aside the travel issues, don't forget both countries do international trades. With the exchange rates, GDP and the standard of living in Nigeria the way it is now, it makes sense to note that we need them more than they need us.

However if Nigeria harnesses all the opportunities she's blessed with perfectly, we don't need anything from them and they will end up needing us more than we need them, and at that point we can start returning them to their countries from our airports like they're doing to our people now.

A Twitter user @damie_thompson claims her friend who had a layover at Dubai enroute the US was denied entry into the US despite having a valid visas and had travelled multiple times. According to the twitter user, the woman was pregnant and even gave birth to a premature baby while in Dubai. Read her tweets from bottom up.

Valid visa don't not guarantee you entrance into any country. The immigration officer at the boarder has the final say.

Ability for your proof that your visit is genuine will grant your u entrance to a country.

Valid visa is the your 75℅ chance and a complete step before the last step. The last step is there boarder officer.

And if she did have medical papers to give birth in USA, definitely she will be denied entery.

Also cases of denial can be insufficient fund too.

If she did the needful, providing proof of medical insurance or means of payment. They would have allowed her entry. Yankee no dey take nonsense 4 border.
Having a valid visa does not automatically mean entry would be granted ..................

See now...that is what the US should start doing. I know it might take a while or more before that can even happen. May be the US Visa Officers needs to cut down on their US birth tourism visas anyway. Some women are doing desperate things just to go give birth in the US for Citizenship.

Entry into US is not determined by Trump, rather by the Custom and Border Protection official you meet at the Point of Entry. This has been in existence even before the Reagan's.

You can read it up in the link below:

You very funny O! are the Americans coming here because they want to or are we the ones bringing them here to work? Nigerians are the most notorious sets of Africans living in America. You can hardly walk into any embassies in Nigeria without them asking funny questions to know y you traveling and while other Africa countries are not asked such questions. Nigerians keep messing up round the world and this is the effect.

We don't know. We've been dealing with leadership issues since I was a toddler. Nigeria is indeed blessed, the decision makers just need to be smarter than they are now.
Sometimes I wish all these politicians could be replaced by expatriates from other countries for just two years in an experiment, Nigeria will be completely transformed leveraging her internal resources, no need for loans.
Rather, we end up voting same old people back in, with their old ideas and thats all they know and impose on to us the new generation - formerly promised to be leaders of tomorrow.

Surprising how people love to blame others for their shortfalls. If she was sincere with change of circumstances and puts her financials in order, they would not be moaning on twitter.........
Dubai would expect full payment, before baby is released. They better start planning on how to settle the medical bill, that is accumulating daily ...........

You sef, where is your friend's brain? She is very close to the delivery period and she decides to travel, 1st mugu decision, there is a new sheriff in US who is bent on getting rid of immigrants thus has emboldened the border officers to be high handed. 2nd mugu decision..
