keep hiding under propaganda!
We know how it all end up.
Isaac fayose has told the world the bitter truth we all know, face him and leave Enugu alone.
Enugu city was levelled down in 1967 during the war,
Ibadan was NOT.
So don't compare both, face isaac fayose.

Have you been to Ibadan.

I wonder why Enugu made the list, when Abuja & PH did not. I wonder what those resilient cities represent -I read through but it was kinda vague-.

Structuracasa begins Crimson Court in Ibadan (Jericho, Ibadan)

Videos and more pix of ongoing construction available at: www.facebook.com/crimsoncourtib/photos/pcb.505074006364759/505068726365287/?type=3

Efforts have been stepped up in reducing the nation’s housing deficit, with the commencement of construction on a mini estate in a secure and serene highbrow neighbourhood in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The project, a brainchild of a real estate development company, Structuracasa, has been christened Crimson Court and consists of terrace town houses in the exclusive Jericho GRA. It is located near the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN) and Nigerian Institute of Horticultural Research (NIHORT).

Designed for well-heeled clientele and discerning investors with sophisticated taste, Crimson Court comprises three buildings each containing four terrace homes arranged in town house style.

Each of the 12 terrace units will be arranged on three floors with four en-suite bedrooms and outdoor terraces. Each unit will also have an attached maid’s room. The modern architectural style has light filled spaces through large expanses of glazing. The ceilings are soaring up to 3.6 meters and double volume spaces.

The estate, which sits on over one acre of land, will have 24/7 security, adequate parking space, adequate drainage, constant water supply, piped gas supply, back-up power generator, serene landscape, swimming pool, children’s play area and more.

According to the Managing Director, Structuracasa Nigeria Limited, Jade Alade, an architect, “potential buyers can pay in structured installments or lump sum. Early buyers during construction will enjoy price discounts.”

He explained that the estate is privately financed by the company in conjunction with private investors. “Structuracasa’s vision is the democratization of home ownership through the use of innovative construction techniques to enhance building quality, construction speed and cost management. We partner with governments and private parties and provide turnkey development across the value chain from affordable mass housing to mid range housing.”

Mr. Alade disclosed that the exchange rate is significantly impacting the cost of construction, particularly the finishing stages as most of the good quality finishing materials used for housing projects are imported.

“We look forward to local high quality production of some inputs that can help reduce the foreign exchange burden. Design and specifications using local materials will also play a part in managing cost moving forward.”

On how government can ensure affordable housing for the populace, he said: “Reducing the legal and registration transaction costs relating to land and housing construction are very important. Functional and easily accessible title registries will reduce fraud in land transactions.

“Stable policies that encourage some standardization of building components will help import substitution players get their acts together. What Dangote has done with cement can be expanded to a lot of other building materials and components.”

The Rise Of Startups In Ibadan; A Pointer To Technological Development.

A startup company (startup or start-up) is an entrepreneurial venture which is typically a newly emerged, fast-growing business that aims to meet a marketplace need by developing or offering an innovative product, process or service. A startup is usually a company such as a small business, a partnership or an organization designed to rapidly develop a scalable business model.
The newly arisen rate of startup company using Ibadan as a case study is essential to the city’s response to Digital Media and Technology in a whole.
In the recent years, Almost every startup company has a monumental attachment to either Internet networking or high Technology consumption rate.
Many have questioned when Nigeria would finally grow to become driven by technology. The answer, a few years ago would have been “in hundred years”. However, with the recent tech evolution in all parts of the country, it is evident that Nigeria is becoming more technologically inclined.

The visits of Mark Zuckerberg and Y Combinator to Nigeria are a pointer to the quality of investments that the country can attract with technology advancement.

It is true that these visits are a validation of the budding tech ecosystem. However, some have argued that the visits shouldn’t be considered as an achievement.
Any real effort to see Nigerian technology occupy a noteworthy position on the global map means that the startup culture has to grow quickly beyond to this landscape called Ibadan.
The size and maturity of the startup ecosystem where the startup is launched and where it grows have an effect on the volume and success of the startups. The startup ecosystem consists of the individuals (entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, Angel investors, mentors).
This ecosystem must have a connected structure with institutions; take for example, University of Ibadan is an institution located very near to Bodija areas where the elites live and where high income startups started off.

A startup called HelpMum was started by a student of UI, Adereni Abiodun and co founded by Tojola bolaji. These two guys are products of the institution system.
This Event for example is a valid portrait of an ecosystem that can help the Ibadan startup environment.
Startup South-west is a private initiative by ef-oneweb designed to create business development support for small tech startups with growth potential designed to help them achieve that potential.
The idea is to open the techpreneural ecosystem in South-west Nigeria by identifying the key stakeholders of acceleration and ICT startups and fostering coordinated involvement and smart cooperation among them.

Startups like Afridext is an online marketplace where customers buy and sell high-quality graphic designs relevant to the African market at preferred prices.

Several startups such as Ibridge Hub, Whatsup Ibadan, Ibadan insider, ibcity info, illusion group. All these business in the nearest future will form a giant of corporation that will protect the heritage of the startup ecosystem in Ibadan and introduce her to the outside territories.

You all are free to show Ibadan on this thread. Ibadan is not in the category of Enugu in anything. Ibadan can compete with Umuahia, maybe.

You can take it to the bank.

Made In Ibadan: A Chat with Oyenike Adeleke of Ibadan Entrepreneurs Network

Mrs. Oyenike Adeleke of Ibadan Entrepreneurs Network

Ibadan Entrepreneurs Network started as part of my a desire to see entrepreneurs thrive in Ibadan. I am an entrepreneur myself and I looked at the challenges I face in running my business. I was able to tell myself that I needed someone to help me overcome these challenges. That is why I started to the network, in order to help people in Ibadan to do business the right way. In Ibadan, there are no mentors, nobody for entrepreneurs to pattern their businesses after, unlike what we have in Lagos or Abuja or other big cities. So We formed a network where we collaborate where we network and where we generally help each other to do our businesses the right way.
