It isn't what you need. You're too broke to even need.

It is only practical because you cannot afford aviation fuel. So you fly your Gripens less than 2 hours per month,

So you ground ground your entire Augusta A109 fleet.

So you store in the freezer half your Gripen fleet.

The only thing practical is how broke you are.
The only thing also practical is how you only managed to raise only 9 pilots despite signing your Gripen contract 15 years ago.

The only thing practical is you fly museum pieces for MP duties.

You know what else is practical for the pathetic SAAF, 3 C-130's for 1.2 million KM area.

That's how practically pathetic you are.

Hahaha

This post is so emtional, i think it takes the cake as the single most emotional post ever made here!!

I can see henry120 crouched infeont of his pc, sitting on a bag of ice (for the butthurt), angrily slamming the keys of his keyboard with tears of anger streaming down his face, cassawa juice dripping down his mouth as he mouths out the words he types

Gripen fleet flys 5 hours per month per pilot (3000/40/14) which is in line with the flight hours the USAF gets

Augusta are not grounded for a lack of funds, nor have they ever been

No gripen are in storage

We have 14 gripen pilots as that is inline with our needs, and unlike Nigeria we are prepared now for any potential future escalation of needs - we prepare for war in peace

If we are broke, then the nigerian military is homeless, considering we spend about as muh as you do- yet we are half your size and are at peace

The DAKs have modern engines and avionics

C-130's needs are not dictated by the size of our country, and we keep 3 operational as we make sure we follow proper maintenance cycles

Nigerian airforce on the otherhand is full of obsolete airframes, no capacity for modern warfare and is unable to maintain and operate the usless junk in your arsenal

I am sorry that this makes you so angry, but facts are facts

22, 000, all thanks to Zuma, his clan of bandits and the presidential Air Fleet.

7 Frigates, make it up 14.

Pity you only got 9 pilots, 18 air crew members for your Gripens.

If they could easily be converted, you wouldn't be stuck with 9 pilots. Pity you are.

No, you have prepared for nothing. You have instead gone on an ego boosting spending spree you could not afford in 1999, cannot afford today, and still won't be able to afford tomorrow.

Nigeria buys what Nigeria needs, we consider our present and future threats and we purchase accordingly.

If you had tried it, you won't be contemplating selling your Fighters.

First, we have 14 pilots
Second, we arent contemplating selling the Gripen
Third, your military aquisitions are a joke

With regards to ego spending - south africa was simply maintaining the capablilities we have allways had. We are not a 3rd world military like nigeria

No you did not. The SANDF only came into existence in 1994.

Colonial formations + boer commandoes became Union defence force became SADF which became SANDF

We had an army before nigeria existed

In your case, they should probably be sold off to Mexico. There is absolutely no need for anything you have in your pathetic Airforce. They are all usually grounded or in the Freezer anyway, they sure won't be missed.

Maybe to your 3rd world mind

But reality is a very different thing
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 6:00am On Dec 19, 2014
Henry240:

The SADF is not the SANDF. Virtually all members of the defunct SADF have all ran away to Australia.

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 6:02am On Dec 19, 2014
Henry240:

Yeah, experience is passed down, I agree, but for the SAAF, and your military, the old guard have all run away to australia.

I can bet, 80 % of the cops in the seize in sydney were former SANDF operators.

So for South-Africa, it is a link non-existent.

[citation needed].

The large number of military expats is because we cut the SANDF from 200 000 to 80 000

Sharap, you claimed your Gripen pilots receive a totally different training to others, when I raised the fact the Czech republic could raise a total of 80 air crew and ground personnel for 5 jets.

Olodo!

Not even making sense anymore

Also remember the SADF isn't the same as the SANDF, as officers such as colonel eben Barlow have deserted the force.

Some left

Some stayed, such as Col Dixon

Whats your point?

Did you not see where I indicated "80 Aircrew and ground personnel"?

Is this how you get the supposed best education, by failing the most basic comprehension?

You read slowly, yet did not comprehend.

Lol

Henry120 cannot even comprehend what is happening

But then again, he doesnt know what ground and air crew are

Oh yeah.

Now nigeria didn't just kill their soldiers. They also killed what's left of the military's morale.

Undersupplied men who are overwhelemed by the enemy and forced to flea should not be executed.

Is archaic and it destroys moral, even the highly diciplined german army and highly ideological red army of ww2 learnt that executing men will not stop them retreating

patches, when will you grow up and learn not to always ignorantly twist things to suite your lies and fabricatiins on this thread?

Missing movement and mutiny in any military in the world (maybe except SA) is a criminal act that carries severe penalty. just incase you have comprehension problem,

Missing Movement is another term used to describe when members of the armed forces fail to
arrive at the appointed time to deploy (or "move
out"wink with their assigned unit, ship, or aircraft. In
the United States Armed Forces, this is a violation of the Article 87 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). The offense is similar to absence without leave but may draw more severe punishment.[3]

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desertion

Those men where not under supplied because the rest of the unit still advanced and the operation was successful according to their commanders statement during the start of the trial before journalists were barred from covering the trial because of some details that are supposed to be private. does that sound like an under supplied unit to you?

please post a link of any soldier that was punished for retreating. these saffers no get sense at allllllll.grin.

Which explains the lack of morale to date. Nigerian soldiers aren't motivated by the love of Nigeria. They are motivated by the fear of execution among other things. Soldiers like that will always be cowardly.
