In truth, behind Egypt and Algeria, Morocco has the 3rd most powerful military in Africa.

I could use the same description you used of the Moroccan army to describe the Ethiopian army. You cannot deny how much experience the Ethiopian army has, tonnes of it.

yes ethiopian army have a good experience to , no one says otherwise , i 'm talking only of the inventory, it is difficult to compare and judge the abstract things such as courage experience ect ... we can compare stats and see inventary and in terms of weapon , the capacity of the Moroccan army are higher , specially in air force capacity that you talk about

Dude almost all weapons purchases are recorded in today's age, the excuse of "does not publish military information" is pretty much nul and void with regards to number and type of equipment purchased.

Secondly Angola fought the longest, most advance war this continent has ever seen since ww2, so saying they have no experience is pretty fvcking ignorant.

The Eritrean war for independence was 4 years longer tongue . I don't see Angola winning a war against Ethiopia. 10 years ago Angola wouldn't have been known for power so just because they bought some Sukhoi 30's it doesn't necessarily mean they are good.

Let me rephrase...."One of the Longest Wars" yet still by far the most advanced!!

Also im not saying they are good because they have 18 Su30s.....BUT im specifically referring to the fact that you claimed they were inexperienced....Also take into account they fought an enemy that was arguably in the top 10 in the world with regards to Military Power at that time......Yeah they lost....but so did Ethiopia against the tiny nation of Eritrea.

Apartheid ended due to economical sanctions, NOT the Border War....Apartheid ended in 94 not 89!!

And? It was always the intention to give SWA their independence once there was no communist threat!!

Angola is a democracy....people vote for their President....Or have you forgotten the definition of democracy?

My friend you can not compare Eritrea with Angola.

If Ethiopia face Angola the battlefield would be different. Ethiopia don't even have the capacity to move 500 troops at once to a battle ground by air not to talk of supplies/logistics which means you can only fight your neighbors.

Ethiopia is only a treat to her neighbors.

Keep dreaming. Angola can spend $$$, their current armed soldiers are not as experienced as Ethiopia's. If the battlefield was in Ethiopia's terrain, they will lose.

You forget that the Angolans fought from the 1960s until the 2000's

40 years of continuous combat experience - in everything from being the insurgents themselves to fighting conventionally.

Gunmen kill five security personnel in Nigerian Delta, oil companies evacuate staff

Gunmen killed two policemen in Nigeria's oil-producing Niger Delta as they slept in a security post on Monday evening and three soldiers were killed in a second attack, police and the army said.

The raids took place a day after five police officers were shot dead in the same region.

Recent violence has raised concern that militants might resume an insurgency that has been quiet for the past several years. A labour union on Tuesday called for the evacuation of oil workers from the region.

The army said it would use "all available means and measures" to crush militants attacking oil facilities, saying: "They will stand to regret the consequences of their actions."

The two policemen, who were asleep on guard duty, were killed in Delta's Rivers state, a police spokesman. The soldiers died in an attack in Bayelsa state, the army said.

It is composed of nine industrial buildings, each with its own specific function, including heat treatment and surface treatment, assembly and filling, processing, packaging and destructive and nondestructive testing. According to Almadhi, the factory has a production capa- city of 300 artillery shells or 600 mortar bombs a day. It will be staffed by 130 engineers and operators. Not on the scale and intensity of the Angolans.

Remeber - Angolans, since the 1960's have been:

- Insurgents
- Counter Insurgents
- Involved in the biggest and most advanced conventional battles on the continent.

Plus, even though the SADF annihilated them every-time they met on the battle-field the Angolans never gave up and allways came back for more- they have plenty of "guts". If they had inflicted just one defeat on us like we inflicted on them (over 20 times) we would have been forced out of the war by public pressure at home.

I don't think you know Ethiopia's history very well then.

The only way this debate can actually be ended is by a war itself and that is the last thing the continent needs. grin
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 10:07pm On May 11, 2016
well , given the distance that separates the two countries then for your imaginary war ( that will never happen) , we will not see a ground war large scale ! in the worst case it will be only some air strikes , so no need to counter insurgents experience; ground battle combat experience ect ....

so what have ethiopia and angola in air fighters, bomber and air defense system, radars, electronic warfare ,jammer , reflueing ? for this kind of scenario

OPINION: How can African Union be more relevant? Since its inception, African Union member states are been actively engaged in the building, defense and growth of the African continent. It is the dream of most African countries to see a United African continent which is devoid of the usual squabbling and violent conflict. Africans all over the continent are beginning to reap the fruit of a fast growing continent with inter-national relationship between various countries currently at it's highest point. African leaders are working together to spearhead the continent’s transformation and direct its development.. READ MORE @ www.combatheart.com

Isreal Sold Non-Functional Drones To Nigeria For $240m.

illitrate: Nigerian defence and security equipment contractor, Alh. Rabiu Hassan, yesterday, alleged that some Israeli security contractors (names withheld) were fleecing the nation of huge sums of money in hard currencies by supplying either non-functional equipments or collecting mobilisation fees without making supplies.

The contractor told journalists in Abuja that at a time the nation was facing dire security challenges, three Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, UAVs, popularly known as drones, supplied by the Israelis were rotting away in a hangar in Benin because they were non-functional.

He added that even at that, Nigeria was made to pay far more than the cost of the most sophisticated drones currently used by United States of America, USA.

Hassan, who said he had petitioned the Presidency and relevant anti-corruption agencies, said although he was a contractor himself, he had to cry out for a probe into the activities of the affected companies with a view to arresting the situation.

He said: “As we talk, there are three Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, which are popularly called drones, supplied by the Israelis which have never worked. They are parked right now at a hangar in Benin. They have never worked since they were supplied.”

He said the non-functional drones cost the nation $240 million, adding that the Israeli behind the drones deal had operated in the country for over a decade and had infiltrated the top echelon of successive administrations in the country, where he had entrenched himself.

He equally disclosed that another set of two Israelis were on the verge of sealing a deal for leasing two spy satellites to Nigeria at a cost considered to be another rip-off as they had asked Nigeria to pay 145 million Euros for a project, which cost had been put at $40 million by Imagesat, the manufacturers in Israel.

Hassan said: “I have personally gone to Israel and found out from the manufacturers what the cost is. It is $40 million for the total project. It is curious that they (contractors) are quoting 145 million Euros.

“The Israeli company does not quote in Euros, they only quote in dollars. Nigerians must ask questions: is there any such contract at $145 million? This can’t happen elsewhere in the world.”

Hassan, who said he was crying out as a patriotic Nigeria, disclosed that he would be at the State Security Service, SSS, and the Office of the National Security on their invitation to give more details on his petition.

According to him, he had earlier made a preliminary statement at the SSS and was determined to ensure that the matter was not swept under the carpet. He said the entire activities of the Israeli firms in the nation’s security sector must be probed.
