our 4653xii stoped working but the signal bar does not drop to 30% but 70% and above (i.e still showing that the lnb is still connected to rx) but the signal refuse to pop up so i dn't knw y, even d dish was tested with another rx and it worked well (D dish is still aligned to mytv station). Do i hv to upgrade it with another rx? Thanks.

Hi guys ,been goin thru d postshere and i am more educated.would love a prompt reply pls..i have d srt4922 hd rx which came wiv an oct s/w.i updated wiv d strong official nov 2012 update which cleared d mytv logo and my options submenu in the systems installation tab.so i went online in search of a solution cos iknewi had lost d patch.i came across 2 updates a mytv 115p of jan 2013 n anoda 118p of feb 26 2013.now my questions:which of dz should i use?shoul d i update in steps if m to use d 2 ie use d jan den d feb?or jus use of dem?pls i need an answer asap.thanks guys.

Hi Gurus, I have been using my srt 4930 with dstv card to view dstv channels. All of a sudden last week the pictures disappear. The normal green signal was there and can even see the titles of each program on the channel but it display scramble channel. I search on the net and upgrade to 1.42p dated Jan 17 2013 but is still displaying scrambled channels. My subscription with dstv is still active. Pls assist me with a solution to this problem.

U mean d card still worked till just last week? Go swap d card and get an old Dstv decoders and use.

My 69xii upgrade 2ru OTA and it always delete all the chanels and reserved only my tv chanels each time I switch on the decoder. Pls any solution plzzzzzzzz

I went to a shop around my area in Lagos, Iyana-Ipaja to be precise to look for Strong SRT-4669Z which I can use to get free internet browsing, its was on d 15th February 2013.D guy selling in d shop convinced me to buy SRT 4922, dat is the best for me. So I bought strong SRT4922 @ N25,000 after much pricing it came with the following accessories (2 LNBs,1 small dish & 1 big dish, with the mount complete) Though I don`t know the size of the dishes. He also sold diseqc switch to me for N1,500, Installation fees N10,000 for 2 dish (mytv & multitv) I want to know if this guy ate me real raw, bcus I hav being reading on dis thread dat SRT 4922 is N11,000. Can some do d costing of all d items I listed above pls.

What is the version of your Dstv card?
1.42p won't open Dstv channels on that decoder. 110p on wizkid does though. I noticed you sometimes need to reset your card from Dstv before it shows sometimes.

I've got a small STRONG dish and decoder that was previously hooked up to HiTV lying fallow. . .can I use it to get FTA stations? What are the things I need to do or buy to achieve this?

Please house, last nite i on my decoder srt4922 and i discovered it was downloading OTA update, after download, it upgraded itself. So i went to check d version, it shows february 28, 2013. Please I want to know if this version is o.k or is there a better version i can change to.

as long as receivers are still interecting with mytv or astra2abd, it is almost possible to be affected by OTA but may not be difficult like 69x does.
I personally have witnessed 4940 being hit by OTA but when d lnb cable was removed and replug again, it was ok. Getting to a month now we hv not seen something like OTA from the rx.

You pple should not be afraid of OTA whatever as long as your receiver is not fake and u hav nothing to do with d "dark side". After d upgrade, ur receiver will reboot and continue working so dont panic, just let it finish d upgrade and u'll be good.

bro you will need to do a little reading because not all that you ave on the list corresponds to the current sat names....

My problem is unlocking some FTAs (on dstv direction) that show no video no audio. Somebody advice I shld update my decoder with patch meant for middle east, d problm is d most recent I got was [1.11p (20101224)], what do I do? Secondly I want to go for a good HD decoder within the range of 20K any suggestion of a good one? God bless.

If your tv has AV port, connect an AV wire to the decoder you can get an AV splitter (not sure that is the name) that is if d decoder don't have extra AV port and connect to your tv. That is how I did mine. Enjoy!
