Dear Mr. iluminati,

I am awfully sorry to hear that he was not allowed to pass the
security control to file his request for the certification of signature
for the opening of a blocked account.

Unfortunately, due to a directive of the Federal Foreign Office it is
correct that from today 25th/08/2014 onwards the costs for the certification of
signature amount to 20,-- €, according to the current exchange rate
making up 4,500.00 Naira. Enclosed, you will also find the updated
information leaflet, which you can also find on our website.

Please make sure that he brings the above mentioned amount to the
Consulate General, if he wish to get his signature certified due to
your application for the opening of a blocked account.

Thank you very much for your comprehension!

Sincerely yours,
b.o.

Hello All, I have been reading this thread right from Page 1. I have jotted down the most important points here. I would like to take the opportunity to study in Germany 1) to hustle 2) to have access to world class healthcare without going broke because I have some health challenges here in naija 3) an opportunity to upgrade in my studies (I have an HND).
PLEASE beebee, topeajis, godson & co that are residing in Germany tell me / us the truth how can one hustle and survive there? tell us the true situation of things over there. My uncle lived in Germany for years and left (he had German daughter) but he told me I would REGRET leaving my little job here to go to Germany that its very tough to survive pls is it true? Someone else living there also said same thing that it's even hard to find Nigerian students there. all these get me so confused. I don't want to make a big move that I would regret. Please give us straight talk / the hard truth how survival is there especially after the money in blocked account is finished

Welcome on board. During my search for an MSC, I dint come across such strict rules on CGPA. Though some schools may have high standard so check for your course of interest and the admission requirements.

What do you want to specialise on? Still Biochemistry? Biochemistry now has babies. Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Molecular biology,Genetic Engineering, etc

Studied Biochemistry at BSC level too.
Cheers

Let me answer some of your question from what i have seen here.
1) With your Hnd you can get admitted into a Bsc program, if you meet other requirements .
To be sincere with you if your background is IT or Engineering, I would advice you please come you wont regret it. Engineers are hot cakes here.
I've gotten a slot to work as a student when I begin my program fully and this is as a result of my background and language skills.

2)As for world class health, yes everyone has to be under an insurance which covers your health needs. But............ if you are under 30, you have an advantage as you can take up a public health insurance which is more expensive but better than the private health insurance. I don't know about underlying health conditions.

3)The key to success here is German Language, the better you can speak the language the easier living in Germany will be for you. You get jobs easily, make good friends, network so well, hangout with cute chicks cool and so on.

As for Nigerian students, we have loads of them, it just depend on the city. Ask your uncle if he came to Germany as a student or as an asylum seeker, its not greener if you are here as an asylum seeker. Nowhere is easy to survive, is naija not tough enough? With all the terrible learning conditions. Come and experience learning with ease and comfort. 24/7 electricity, fast internet for study and research. Too many things that i can't type all.

Survival after block account is exhausted? I can't answer that, as I'm still new here my self. But trust me if you are the prudent type you should survive.
Bitte! Learn the language, its key for survival ohh!!! Otherwise you will get frustrated.

There you have it from the german welt meister himself.. I purposely quoted this message.
I am very sure between now and next week, some people will come and ask the same question "How can someone survive in germany"
Thanks so much Beebee, God bless you with the insight..
Also, will A1 certification at goethe institute be enough to mingle and get along.. I mean Jobs, make friends and hangout? undecided undecided undecided
especially the chicks aspect tongue tongue wink wink wink
As for the Job prospect, I totally agree with you. There are more opportunities for IT/Engineering students. For the records, I have two companies who developed some modules we used in our company, and Jokingly they asked me if i can work with them when I arrive in germany. and I blatantly accepted the offer...sharperly.. They assured me on getting the job in as much i can find my way in there... So the bulk of assignments lies in my hand..
So help me God !!! smiley smiley smiley wink wink
#Optimistic.. wink cheesy tongue
Alles Gute.

Now, these are people with intellect, willing to share their experiences so that people looking up to them can progress. beebee5000, you are one hell of an inspiration and your selfless and brave heroics here shall be fully rewarded. Whatever you do over there in Germany shall be blessed.
I just hope someone out there now, grief-stricken with a folly induced wounded spirit can just get his/her buttz off the dirty gutter, clean up and follow people with good examples and add value to the life of people, that's if they are wise enough to do that.
I just wish everybody who has gained one or two thing here can just dedicate a few minutes in a week to share their experiences on life in Germany.
God bless us all.

Making a transfer, whether direct (to the same program), indirect (to a different program) or to a higher semester(a type of direct transfer) is multifactorial. It however, depends largely on the program you are transferring to. They determine the academic equivalence of your previous semester/s to theirs.
In addition, you will be required to summit some extra documents like a proof of good academic standing and proof of exmatriculation.
If you have already identified the school you would like to transfer to, I suggest you write to them. They will clarify some university and/or program specific grey areas.

I'm sorry I don't know much about appeals, I remember lacuna commenting on his experience some weeks ago. People are not responding because rejections from the embassy are actually peculiar to a few people here (In the multitude of counsel, there is safety).
My advice, send a personal message to 'lacuna'
and hear what he has to say because he said he is actually too busy at the moment to comment on nairaland.
