There's a political and popular decision in Lagos to oppress, dispossess and suppress the Igbo. You can even FEEL it right here on Nairaland. That's simple truth and anyone saying otherwise is in deliberate denial in service of some kind of interest.

So tell us WHY you're so invested in this narrative of Nigeria as some sort of paradise. Or maybe just Lagos?

Do tell.

Cheers.

The bold reminds me of a dude I came across his profile who studied at Cambridge University and is based in the UK. He tweeted a response that Lagos elites were angry that Igbos won electoral seats in 2015, and vowed to stop such from reoccurring. That was the same period the Oba of Lagos threatened to push Igbo people into the Lagos Lagoon. So don't be deceived by rants from intellectwats like BreconHills. Before he existed, there was a Gbawe (you could look up the profile) and Rhino.sdm. No be today we have monikers who seemingly sound very educated that propagate APC propaganda. The same BreconHills said APC is not a socialist party. You can imagine the lie.

Usually people that behave like this are not even from Lagos.. check well, you're definitely not from Lagos, so will u also go to your village? if you doubt this, ask your folks.

like I said, when the white ask the blacks to go back home, they are racist, when your kind ask other tribes to back to their village, you're tribalist. unfortunately, there is no cure for this. you won't even acknowledge your error, so please keep swimming in it. goodluck.

For the records, the guys u loathe could afford to buy land build houses that got destroyed. think abt this, what can you afford beyond claiming the town you're not even from?

This is a mentality amongst Lagos-based Igbos: Yorubas from other states cannot lay claim to Lagos simply because they aren't from Lagos.

Newsflash: that is not true. Culturally, it is permissible. Just because it is not applicable to other ethnic groups does not mean others cannot have such a practice. We have had Yorubas from Kwara, Osun and Kogi being political holders in Lagos. Let me state it clearly, they will be regarded as indigenes over you, who has resided there for ages. Universities' placements are another example. An Itsekiri has a higher chance of getting into Unilag/LASU than someone from Anambra.

So, let go of the mindset that someone from Osun cannot lay claim to Lagos.

I don't dispute it's Federal Government but what's the difference? They're both controlled by the APC.

As for tribal agenda, such parochialism exists EVERYWHERE in every diverse country. It's a NORMAL part of politics, anyone denying it must have an evil motive. Even inside Igboland there's discrimination by clan and caste. Among the Yoruba I know there's hatred between the Ijebu and Egba or something of the sort.

It's HUMAN NATURE, I simply advise everyone to make provisions for it, especially in poor, low productivity countries...because scarcity in such nations always exacerbates the tendency.

Read my comment history and you will find I'm the least tribalistic person on this forum. I only bring FACTS to my commentary, so try and learn.

Have a good day.
Look at this clown . Is this not what you said ?
IbeOkehie:

Of course the Lagos State Government is pursuing a tribal, specifically anti-Igbo agenda.
Now you are changing mouth
So demolition did not happen recently in Anambra or Kano? Are they APC?
Were they pursuing a tribal agenda?
I don't know you and don't know if you are tribalistic or not.
What you said above is TRIBALISM. If you have no one to tell you
What is the basis for that . ??You don't even have the decency to admit you were wrong about Lagos state which shows the truth is irrelevant to you

What is obvious is you do not think clearly before you talk and you are quick to jump to illogical and irrational conclusions without evidence.

The vast majority of demolitions in Lagos are motivated by tribalism and political considerations. That's clear to everyone including you.

Yes, such things happen and are happening in EVERY OTHER STATE and mostly for the same reasons. Lagos generates a lot of interest because it's the economic capital of the nation and also the most diverse city/state in Nigeria.

I don't understand why truth gets Nigerians so agitated grin shocked grin. I'm sure you also believed "there's nothing like fuel subsidy, fuel subsidy doesn't exist".

Don't mind him. Nigerians are hostile to known truths 🙄 This happens in Igboland too. Aba is a major city in Igboland, many times the Chairman of the Local Government has been from other parts of Igboland.

I condemned the act from the government and as well felt little or no pity for you

Come back home and build, you guys are comfortable in another man's land cuz you have money. Invest in your home, you said no that you will not make it big. Now your life is shattered and this can cause one to move to square one unless God intervaned...

Igbo's Aku ruo ulo

Even at home in Igboland your land is still not safe. Why is this so hard to grasp? Are Igbo politicians uniquely beneficent or ethical? Nobody owns land anywhere in Nigeria, there's ZERO property rights in Nigeria, you don't own anything including your ancestral home in the village.

Good Luck to Nigeria...with a populace so steeped in lies & illogical thinking, it's gonna be a long row to hoe 😀

Like Peter Obi and Bola Tinubu and Muhammadu Buhari and Festus Keyamo, I have the major part of my net worth invested in Anglo-Western nations where the law and government protect PROPERTY RIGHTS.

I emulate real people, not anonymous dingbats on Nairaland.

Good Luck to Nigerians.

?A number of things are revealed in short prose
You have low self esteem.
Like many Iboes you estimate your "worth" in money.
You lack wisdom
If you had any you would realise that we are both anonymous
Like anyone else on this forum
You are weak. If not you would have no need to discuss your so called net worth
Even in that regard do not make assumptions about Any other person on this forum
You are very likely to be wrong ,almost certainly

A human's "worth" is not in how much resource s you gather ignorantly believing they are your possessions but in the value you represent to other people. This simple truth evades many Iboes like you and that is why you are very quick to boast how you can feed generations of a person you will never meet
When you gather wealth you are merely rearranging what you met on this planet and it will be rearranged when you die. That is the ultimate reality . You will die and no one will talk about your Net worth but now useful you were to other people.
That is what you should boast about. How has your existence made a difference to anything?
Would it matter if you had not been born?

The discussion here is about how a particular set of people are being dispossessed and oppressed because of their tribe. So wealth is germane to the discussion since it's about property rights.

There's nothing I've boasted about here. For poverty stricken Nigerians every mention of money by anyone is boasting. grin

Good Luck to you all

why showing your yellow teeth

If you know what the discussion is about why talk about your imaginary net worth
Why are Iboes so obsessed about other people's poverty?
That is the psychological problem you all have
The moment you have any feeling of intellectual inferiority you start to compensate by talking of your imaginary wealth. Like you said this is an anonymous forum so why the biography.?
Who asked you? Why are you telling me? How is it relevant and why should I give a. fuc k about you or your net worth?

It does not change who you are or what you are
What happened is your inferiority complex was triggered and you needed to ward off the dysphoria by talking up yourself. You are a little child, very immature
Yes @ topic
I corrected your fictitious claim about Lagos state and anti Igbo agenda
It is the Federal government
You don't have the decency to admit you are wrong
Your claim about tribalism has no basis other than the usual Igbo playing victim
Demolition happens every where including Anambra

By the way way should an Igbo man build a mansion in Lagos? Why not an okay house and build mansion at home?

Demolish all of them let them buy another and start afresh BC they won't learn.

How many buildings DO YOU KNOW have been demolished

DON'T WAFFLE TELL US THE NUMBER
How many of them have come out to show their building permits
This is a social media age. It is not so hard to do

Everything you are saying is based on assumptions

You have not seen a single building permit with your eyes but are making deductions and permutations based on what? Assumption!!
Is Lagos the only place where demolition happened?
