"A COMMON THIEF IN GOVERNMENT HOUSE" this will make a classic nollywood film.

It is an indictment of nigerian government and its systems. A system that allows miscreants, rascals, cultists, drug barons, criminals and 'common thieves' e.t.c hijack political power thereby destroying the future of our present and future generations.

Though nigerians would have been happier with a longer
Jail term but its still better than nothing which would have been the case if tried in naija.
It is a shame on our judicial system for aiding corruption and all sorts of vices by our corrupt politicians and elites.

James ibori will forever blame himself and whosoever advised him to flee the country cos he never imagine it may end this way.
And I wish other thieving b.ast.ards will flee too, be charged and prosecuted abroad since our justice is meant only for the poor.
Poor nigerians will bag 10 years for stealing a chicken while politicians steals billions of naira meant for the people walks freely without our justice system raising an eyebrow.

The bottomline is if you want to steal in naija do it in billions so that you 'll have enough left after plea bargaining and prosecution "if any" cos that's what the government is teaching its citizens.

WHAT A SHAME FOR JAMES IBORI! BUT ITS GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH!

You are so on point! cool
Justice in Nigeria is strictly for sale. It is impossible to imagine how many years (or failing that), executions would be needed to sanitise the place.

I hope Nigerians, especially their law enforcement system and so called Judiciary(legal system) should reflect seriously on the import of the shameful end of someone they collectively protected because of his "office" and stolen MONEY. Every Nigerian should feel embarrassed and ashamed of our so called "leadership" and thieves wielding enormous power/influence in our midst. It makes white folks feel superior and as usual, our saviours/redeemers again. We can't blame them anymore angry sad. It is sad indeed. shocked

any nigerian citizen can contest for any political office in nigeria.
what is your point?
Coogar Ibori was convicted once and that disqualified him from holding any political post in Nigeria.

In prison; arrested but not convicted. Technically, he was innocent and,you know, he was cleared afterwards

Wen the late great chukwuma nzeogwu decided to sanitise nigeria of the first batch of criminals the nigerian elite cunningly turned it into an igbo vs northerner situation wen in reality it was an attempt to cleanse nigeria of a grp of rotten criminals- since nzeogwu was stopped in his tracks by the nigerian ruling classes the cancer has been allowed to spread and mutate into smthg more monstrous than anyone wld evr imagine. Today we r faced with a situation where the likes of james ibori cn loot the treasuries of their constituents to their hearts content and then stick two fingrs uup to the impoverishd nigerian masses knwng full well tht no one will touch him, thankfully he made the catastrophic decision of leavng the lawless cesspit aka nigeria only to fall into a vry big trap set up for him by the british govt. Sadly this theif's incarceration will nt deter othrs , it will only make them more cautious.we need a revolution in nigeria.

The Nigerian system was incapable of bringing Justice. Ibori has been jailed in another country for us. If he got 1year, its what we couldnt do!!
Nigerian govt should prove to us all that this was truly a crime against its people by bringing Ibori back to serve life in Nigeria after his 13yrs jail term if they can. He might come back if he makes 15yrs and become a ruler instead.

ur allegation against Salami hasnt been substantiated in the law court. so i will just assume u are just ranting. besides, Salami has been suspended against the rule of law at present so how is he stopping any would-be reforms if that exactly is what the govt is after?

U have simply indicted the retardeen by saying he chased Ibori away. U mean the president of a nation chased a known criminal instead of having him arrested and prosecuted?
