[color=#990000]when it comes to atf leaks, 3 seals are the regular culprits.

CV joint seals and torque converter seal.
If replaced with the right parts, it's an easy fix. Look away from the problem, and replace the solution provider./color]

Alryt, I am coming over to yours on Tuesday morning first thing. Would have done tomorrow but I have nowhere to buy DW1 on Sunday. Lol..don't worry u know me.

Good evening house... my Honda Civic 2007 manual car had a over heating issue over the weekend, some parts got damaged in the engine.

The mechanic checked and quoted the items below for me to get the car running...

-Set of coils
-oil filter
-engine oil Mobil
-set of plugs new one
-water pump new one
-top gasket new
-adjuster bearing
-Engine oil measurement stick.

Is it wise to fix the engine? if yes @luvinhubby can you please quote your price as the car is in Oyingbo?

Thank you.

Since it is a case of overheating, repair is the better option for you.

Hello everyone, my 2005 honda accord makes the cracking sound/noise whenever I start it in the morning and thereafter gets bad to normal after some few minutes. This also happens when the car is parked for several hours. Was advised to change the adjuster, which I did. All to no avail.

my honda bullet 97 model tiger face....... couldnt climb hills n wont run well, also would jerk wen deccelerating , took it to my nissan meko, he said it was my gear that had issues...... a friend recommended a honda expert in ibadan for a second opinion....... the guy drove it for 20 secs n stopped and said my gear is ok... that he'll just service the nursles and changed plug wires. now my car speeds normally and am enjoying it.

he said bad engine seat is responsible for the jerking...... i'll fix that also.

moral is always seek for an expert. i hope that will help someone here too

I'm having the same issues you stated up here bro. I use Honda halla. Many mechanic told me I need to change my gear but I'm scared as I changed it two months earlier before it started acting funny again. Can you please give me the Ibadan Honda specialist's number? Thanks in anticipation

@luvinhubby: You hurt me o! I didn't get any real feedback from you on the Toyota ATF (T-4) I planned to send down East (that is, after your Fellowship)

@ luvinhubby, GAZZUZZ: My Accord 02 V6 cranks, but doesn't start. You could drive from a car park to the front of a building, park and assist with luggage. Starting up will be an embarrassing 15 minute cranking without starting. Fuel at half-tank. Started about a month ago. Battery doesn't dim during cranking. I've scanned, no codes. I've tried pumping the accelerator before starting, didn't work. Tried switching on ignition for awhile before kicking, no way. Please help me speak with my car...

Focus on these two codes
P2646 HONDA Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch Circuit Low Voltage

Faulty Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) / Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch

P0122 Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Low Input.

A little more description of your engine type will help. V6 or 4cylinder? Electronic throttle body or throttle cable?

The other 2 codes are faulty O2 sensors on Bank 1 sensor1 and Bank 1 sensor 2.

This is DIY only if you are good with tools.

Good evening everyone.

Abeg, I need help from your wide range of experience acquired over the years as this is a complete mystery to me.

I gave out my battery to a battery charger for a deep charge (it was unused for about 2 months), in order to go pick up assignment and group work papers (quite much) from my students, I leased a battery from him in order to be able to drive down to school - from here I headed to Ibadan for about 2 days.

When I got back, I was meant to return the battery to the battery charger as agreed but to my surprise, upon removing the + or - terminals on the battery, the car struggles then goes off.

This clearly points to an alternator problem but there is no battery signal in the instrument cluster and this same alternator charges batteries yet t goes off when terminals are disconnected.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Does this translate into the purchase of a new alternator or can something be repaired to fix this?

How much would an alternator cost now?

The car is an 04 accord (4 plugs).

I hope I can get easy fix for this or I'll just sell the car.

Please help!

Thank you for the response.

Please, are you able to provide a little more information on that in layman's terms?

Thank you again.

OK, I looked it up.

My question now is if it is replaceable/repairable?

Thank you once more.

car is running lean .
This can be due to intake leak, low fuel pressure ,dirty maf ,or clogged injectors.
Effects; Performance issue or bad fuel mileage.

what is the RPM reading when Engine is idling? Does your vehicle come with DRL? Is the DRL functional?

Finally get a multimeter and set voltage to DC 20V range, hold rpm at 0.8 (800RMP) place terminals on battery (do not disconnect terminals) check readings. Post information here.

Do not replace anything until you have answered these questions.

does engine smoke? Does engine rattle? Does vehicle shift properly.

Most times it is wiser to sell vehicle (as it is) especially when it has suffered electrical and mechanical abuse.

RPM is a little above 500, say 600/700. Car idles quietly and you would think it wasn't running except a person is very experienced with cars, like you. DRL used to be on, Naija rewires have stopped it from functioning somehow.

I will get this done and revert, thank you very much sir.

Engine doesn't smoke, neither does it rattle. The issue is the engine that lays inside the bonnet of that car is a 2003 v6 Engine belong to Honda Odyssey. Thanks to Kazeem and my brother who went replacing the engine that came with it while i was away cos the previous one had its timming chain snapped and without knowledge on how vehicles work, he kept trying to start it which ended up bending almost all valves and to cover his doing without him having enough cash, kazeem advised he replaced it with odessey's engine which is cheaper compared to the actual EOD engine since he doesn't have the cash to do it so i won't find out. but guess what, it was glaring and i found out. Who no go recognize his engine of so many years when he sees it. He opened up. I was mad at him, but still na my blood. i forgave him. That was 2yrs ago. The car does run well though with a little hiccups, only some of its wires have been chopped off, some sockets are missing which i'm not comfortable with. I still had to drive it like that. He'll be rounding up his Service In October and he loves the car like mad, so i want to pass it to him as a gift for making the family proud.

Oga Gazzuzz the car has been to your workshop before sometime last year for a scan. You even complemented on the engine and all the kazeems out there. I even told you when i'm ready, i'd bring it to your heavenly car workshop for a thorough replacement. The car does a hard start sometimes reason for my coming to your workshop and you advised i change all wires that has been chopped off and misconnected while i'll be replacing the engine.

Lest i forget, yes the engine shifts properly, but when it wants to change to gear 3, it starts to jerk and goes back to 2. or it shifts to 3 after a severed jerk like it wants to stop. I was told its because the engine in it.
