Change your clutch disc and the up and down clutch pots, don`t change the clutch kits as they don`t last long, that should take care of the problem.
Thank u very very much. Will try that out & let u know how it goes.
Does it use a sv4 or a sm4 strut? Thinking of changing the strut on all four wheels.
And also is it advisable using "visco 2000" on an old vehicle?

Mobil 1 makes my 2004 honda pilot rock. Engine sound, performance and fuel efficiency has greatly improved. My baby rides so smooth. After a thousand mile I have no oil shortage.

Please what could be the cause of constant damage to my kick starter ? About 3 months ago, my 2003 EOD was starting sluggishly with a gritty sound even when it has kick starter, the mechani told it is key starter which I gave him money to buy at ladipo, after that the car became ok and the sound smooth, just this past two weeks, I was perceiving some kind of burning smell from my kind, that is when it is on the move, this started after I passed through or stayed long in a flooded road, Egbeda , the flooding that day was really high and there was heavy traffic so we have to stay long there. Anyways, I noticed that there was kind of white smoke with some sound coming from my bonnet which later cleared after that day but the following day, I started piercing that burning fuse smell and my car started starting sluggishly without any unusual sound but still sluggishly till it couldn't start again after driving it home , left it for a day and tried starting the next and it wouldn't start. My mechanic is now telling me that it is the kick starter, that the automatic in the kick starter got burnt,
Please is there anything like that? Cos the kick starter doesn't look damaged to me, not like the previous one which I could see the wear at the cranks, there is no such thing with this one.

Please make una rescue me,I no get work oh, before this man milk me dry. how much is complete kick starter
Any honda specialist around Akowonjo which I can be using will be appreciated, new around and don't know any mechanic here.

Note: the car has only been used in Nigerian since January this year , so I have only got it like 6months now.

It could happen to any kind of key.

There are various small mechanisms inside the ignition switch that fits and lock unto your key when inserted. Those small parts operated by springs that causes them to move against the key are susceptable to wearing or fall out of place. Thereby either blocking the key hole or locking the switching mechanism. Find a very good auto key forging workshop or a good auto electrician should know what to do.

It can be fixed. Alternatively and more expensively, you can choose to replace your complete set of keys. A complete set will require the new key and programming, its own ignition switch, its own door switch and trunk switch.

I have experienced an electrical switching problem with position II (on) which trips off the engine while driving on a 97 accord. It takes a lot of time playing with the key on the position to have it on again. The switch was worked on by an electrician. I had a similar problem a long time ago on 86 accord but that time with position I (Acc). The radio wasnt coming on. The same electricin worked it. I have used him to work on my friend's 98 accord ignition that would not turn smoothly. He had to use force to start the car and was getting stuck at start position thereby locking the kick starter to flywheel. He had replaced 2 kick starters before i refered him.

I hope you dont hang a bunch of keys with your car key in the ignition.

You definately have an underlaying problem with the electricals or ignition switch. A high possibilty that your ignition switch is always stuck to start position causing the kick starter to continue running with the engine after it has successfully started the engine. It may be something else other than the ignition switch causing the kick starter to continue running.

When you start the car manually ensure the key returns to position II (on). Your ignition switch system may be faulty. My friend had the same experience on a 98 accord, i was the one who noticed and sent him to a repairer.

Jaabr: URGENT!! what does the Ment REQ.D sign mean,i know it means maintenance required but what kind of maintenance?? It just appeared in my car, though my oil is 2 month old now. And also, the BREAK LAMP sigh is on,what will do?

Ment REQ.D is just a service period counter to assist you the user. It counts miles traveled in relation to the manufacturer recommended service interval.

For example, EOD manual states service should be done after 10,000miles or 1yr which ever comes first. So maintenance required will illuminate in EOD after 10,000miles from last reset.

However, you will follow the manufacturers recommended service interval only if you use manufacturer recommended service parts, that is, oem Honda engine oil, filter etc.

With the kinds of oils and filters we get it is advisable to service 2-3times within one maintenance required cycle. That reminder was installed because using oem parts takes alot of time between service which you may loose count or forget.

Just go ahead and reset.

A broken tail light or brake lamp may illuminate the brake lamp indicator. Check your brake lights and replace burnt out bulbs.

Hello House, please I need your opinion on the Fuel
Consumption of my car.
I drive a Honda accord 2002 model (baby boy) V6 engine. Got it
recently, my first car. I spend 6500 naira every week to fuel the
car and considering the milage I travel, I am beginning to think
the car gulps fuel (apart from the fact that it is V6). I stay at
Egbeda and my office is at Opebi, face traffic going to work and
back home. my average milage in a week is between 150 - 200
miles. Last week....I took time to observe.
Last Tuesday I filled the tank with 67 Litres of fuel (6500) and by
this evening tank was empty (filled with 6500 again). between
last Tuesday and this Tuesday, I covered 151 miles and my
engine was on for a cumulative time period of 20 hours 24
minutes with my AC on.
What do you think?

Its hard to say. You need to carryout a proper mileage test.

Note that driving in the city with alot of stop and go consumes more fuel than on highway.

FUEL CONSUMPTION SPECIFICATIONS
CITY 15.5 mpg US OR 15.2 L/100Km
HIGHWAY 28.7 mpg US OR 8.2 L/100Km
COMBINED 21.8 mpg US OR 10.8 L/100Km

From your post i calculated 8.53mpg OR 27.57 L/100Km
Thats terrible but it may not be right considering alot of errors in your measurements. Do you have check engine light illuminated?

Kindly and immediately check your brake-fluid for shortage and possible leakage, its very risky driving around if its what am thinking

Mileage varies with time but constant with speed of travel or type of travel (city or highway).

So it will be difficult to establish a standard mileage in relation with time.

There are a few things that do increase fuel consumption. Some of which are spark plugs, clogged injector nozzle, dirty air filter, faulty valve timing settings, leaking exhaust pipe, faulty oxygen sensors and catalytic converter, inadequate tire pressures, faulty ECU etc. Imagine what a combination of all these can do to mileage.

Edited: oh i forgot, even the quality of fuel will affect mileage so also is difference elevation. In general, going to northern Nigeria from the south is a comprehensive climb while going back to the south is a general descend. You may use a little more fuel going to Abj from Porthacourt than from Abj to PH.

An electrical issue with your gearbox. A good auto electrician should identify the faulty switch(s), possibly through a scan, and have them replaced.
You can also do a fluid change with genuine Honda ATF-DW1, as low viscosity of transmission fluids can affect the sensors and switches of your gear.

Thank me later.

My car radio turns on and off at will with a popping sound. Most times I have to wait for 15 mins before it makes any sound. Other times it is clearly on but makes no sound. I drive a Honda accord 2006 model.

Also I notice this humming sound when driving. I never ever noticed this until I let my mum drive my car o.
I am extremely tone deaf so I cannot even tell where the noise is coming from but I would put my money on the front of the car around the bonnet or the tyres.

Finally I noticed that my car starts to vibrate as soon as I put on the ac. It also vibrates when it is in traffic . I also noticed that I often have to really accelerate the car in motion to get it to move to a higher speed. I hope I have explained my car dilemma in the best possible way.

Edit: SOLD!

Four bottles of Honda ATF DW-1 for sale!

I purchased a carton (12 bottles) of the DW-1 earlier on in the year, to do a complete transmission flush on my car; after the 2nd fluid change, I realised I didn't need the third. And now, I need to clear out any 'unused items' in my store.

So, if there are any takers, kindly show by a raise of hand! or just pm me.

Price is 12k for the 4 - that's @ 3k each. And, there is a 60% full bottle inside the carton for the lucky buyer wink
Location is Lagos.
