If its not wickedness and taking advantage of the scarce job situation in the country why will a recruiter schedule interviews for this festive period? It's means the recruiter itself is not self aware.

Oga Jarus and other knowledgeable people in oil and gas industry. Please, I need a response to a pressing issue which I need a clarification to so as to know where not to direct my energy in hunt for job. I studied Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and would like to know the fate and prospect of having a career in oil and gas industry. I wrote the CBT test but didn't get invite for the interview which raise my concern about the relevance of my discipline. I would also like to know if there's any Agricultural Engineer that got invitation for this NNPC interview.

Thanks in advance for your response.
Firstly, you not being called for panel interview after the CBT could be as a result of so many factors like not meeting up to the required score, or probably stiff competition from your state of origin but certainly not because of your discipline as Biosystem or Environmental Engineering is needed in the HSE department or Renewable energy Division of NNPC and other oil and gas company. If Zoology graduates could be called for panel interview then why not Biosystem Engineering graduates?
Ps: You studied a very lucrative course. Thanks

So I made a post some weeks back about Abuja, I said Abuja isn't a state so it doesn't have indigens. I'm a no one user of google, the "Nigeria has 36 states and one FCT" has glued to my brain that I failed to read about Abuja and its indigens. Some called me dumb, stupid, ignorant, a wasted graduate and all sort of unimaginable names, some vented their frustration on me, a guy couldn't even sleep cos of the post grin, after I deleted the post he saw that he couldn't quote me and then called me out separately to add his own insult. If it was a lady that did that I wouldn't be surprised, but a guy for that matter made sure he insulted me
even after I cleared the post... Haq haq haq! If dem born you well drop your address angry One thing I'm sure of is, we've all been in this kind of situation, where you think you are right but "eventuarry" you realized you've just shot yourself in the leg...Local girl was so embarrassed that she cannot can after she googled it and read on it, I should have done that first. We've all been there, we've all argued blindly, we've all thought we were right and we've all been made fun of. You shouldn't judge me with 1 mistake, you shouldn't see me as dumb and ignorant cos of one thing. I forgive all the hurtful words said to me and I wish y'all best of luck in this NNPC journey!
This has made you highly teachable. You'd go far in life!!!

So this one showing NEFT clearly is a lie? undecided
I meant it's not necessarily done via NEFT. There are other alternatives
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by agya1: 11:48pm On Jul 17, 2019
Crediting of these large number of accounts isn't necessarily done using all these NEFT nor NIP.
For those familiar with the use of Oracle Flexcube, a Journal entry is simply created and accounts credited.
Multiple batches of these Journals can be created to carry as many accounts as possible.
Alternatively all accounts numbers after being entered into an Excel sheet is sent internally to a central processor ( maybe at the dispatching bank's HEAD OFFICE) and accounts credited simultaneously.
bobowaja:

There is a limit to the amount NIP can send. In this case nnpc have a large pool to send to, so they needed a bigger platform than NIP to enable that. There is a possibility of NEFT dropping same day, but I am yet to witness one tho and most links from bank says 24hrs..... There might be exceptions as Ben said anyways.

Tweak2k:

hmm why accounting if I may ask. No offense I just want to know
I studied Engineering, but from my little career experience I realized Accounting is a very lucrative course cos they're required in every Organization. Also it is easier compared to all those core science courses.
Additional Certifications like ICAN/ACCA would take you places without age limits as non accounting graduates are striving for these certifications, hence you can infer a switch towards the course.
Sorry for my late response.

I can tell that you had a very bad foundation educationally, pre-university and it has shown in coming to the fore now.
I can tell you struggled with your core subjects , and even tho’ you have the desire to do I.T, you don’t have a solid background in science subjects.

You missed it the moment you went for “special center” instead of addressing your deficiencies before entering the university.
(Please correct me if any of my submissions are wrong)

I however feel there is a way out . Go for a “less demanding “ course that’s not necessarily science related, start well( sound 100 l results) and continue with zeal until your final year.

When you’re out of uni, pick an area of I.t you’re interested in, and that matches your areas of strength, look for good computer schools and start learning at your own pace. This way, you’re not burdened with the extraneous courses you would’ve done in the university, for which you really were not prepared for .BUT , from here on , it has to be certifications , certifications , certifications .

A number of excellent programmers didn’t study computer science in school, though most were already Science inclined

On the flip side , a university degree doesn’t buy you success in today’s world. A combination of hard work , being smart and highly opportunistic does.
As one of the posters above suggested, you can go learn a technical skill of your choice and continue to hone it, till it becomes marketable.

Now isn’t the time for self pity and self loathing , if things aren’t working out for you, go and work things out. Good a thing you’re still in your 20’s .
You couldn't have said it better. Very apt. My opinion he should just go study accounting.

Exactly my line of thought
Gentlewarrior1:

Spending high amount on rent is bad

But what i am saying is that if you havent arrived yet and have steady amd reasonable cash flow. Sometimes its not good to be saving up just so you could build your own house and be a personal landlord, unless maybe you want to build a house that includes you and tenants or probably have more than enough money for the house

In a nutshell saving money to build just your own a personal house is a nice idea but not a smart idea.
Atleast an income that will provide for the house not using your savings. Your savings is better invested in something that will yield more money

Well sha this life no get handbook. All man go do wetin him feel na the best move for am

Well said, however these internal Control guys need to set their priorities right.
franktalk007:

Agya,
I think I know few things about internal control and compliance. This reply of mine is to educate you and maybe help you see things in their proper perspective.

In as much as Internal Control set up in a system helps to enforce compliance with policies, procedures and protect the business assets, they are deemed to be working and effective but when there are internal collaboration or connivance, it's practically hard to easily detect.

Control is also detective and preventive. So an internal person knows the policy and exploit the loopholes for his advantage then we are here to conclude that the system of control failed. That's generalization, only if we are close enough to see how many of such that this system of controls have frustrated, bursted and prevented.

Read more on fraud and internal control. Nigerian banks are also a fertile ground lately maybe because of harsh economic situations, individual greed, expensive lifestyle and family pressure but these are by no means a justification because I hold on to the fact that "A good name is better than gold or silver"

Charity begins from home, these bankers turned fraudster are our brothers and sisters. They lived among us in the society, we know them but our moral values and standard is compromised. Every Nigerian youth want to hit the jackpot overnight. - "Our main issue"

Until we address our value system, system of control will be at a serious threat not just in Union bank but across other Banks and in extension, the industry.

It shows their Internal control/Compliance officers are not doing what they are paid to do else this fraud could be mitigated. I guess they're only interested in bullying and intimidating their fellow staff simply because they're compliance officers.
