Mustapha, this is basically an over-flogged issue but let me help u understand....these men (especially Hitler and Musolini)cannot be called pescemakers. They are more or less terrorists but they are not religious terrorists. The men u referred to were at best nominal christians. What ever acts they carried out were due to their own personal views or ideals or to further their nationalistic visions. Though some of their actions may have had some religious overtones, THEY NEVER CLAIMED TO ACT BASED ON THEIR RELIGOUS BELIEFS OR CONVICTIONS. But most of the acts of terrorism perpetrated by PROFESSED muslims are said to be done in defence of islam hence the frustrations expressed by people.
mmmustapha: If okah is a muslim, all of U will jump to conclusion n say islam is a religion of violence n muslims r terrorists which I hate to hear. Hitler, mussolini n bush wat r they, terrorists or peace makers No abuse just answer me if u can't dnt even write ur shit

Billyonaire: You have forgotten about playing loud music and winding down while doing so........
haha....reminds me of a guy on ma street during the '90s. Played his music so loud that he made sure u knew he was back. No matter what song he was playing, once he entered the street he made sure all we heard was Lauryn Hill of the fugees singing: 'ready or not, here i come, u cant hide'!

Career / Re: 6 People You Need Around You To Help You Succeed by jephiano: 1:44pm On Jul 22, 2012
Santi222: I like what you said but I'd like to know, taking materialism away, Who or What exactly is a successful person in the eyes of the Lord God?
In simple terms, a successful person in God's eyes is one that learns God's ways and does his utmost to live by them.(Joshua 1:8;Psalms 1:2,3) Naomi, Ruth, Joseph and Mary, etc were materially poor but can be viewed as successes in God' eyes due to their faithfulness and they would not be less in God's eyes than Abraham or other rich servants of God. God knows that money is important but it has limitations.(Ecclesiastes 7:1 and 12)my guy i no like to form pastor for NL! I hope u understand the small explanation sha.
Career / Re: 6 People You Need Around You To Help You Succeed by jephiano: 10:54am On Jul 22, 2012
As much as there would always be exceptions to the rule, there are some things that make for success. If you interviewed like 50 successful persons across the globe and from different backgrounds and fields, you would see that there are some qualities that basically mark them all. A strong vision of what they want out of life and the tenacity, perseverance and wherewithal needed to achieve this is usually a common denominator.
As for God, well as much as i believe in him and strive to live my life according to his dictates, i have learnt that material wealth and success are not what He views as true success. Moreover most of the 'successful' people today neither do believe in Him nor really care about pleasing Him. Thus God is not really needed to attain 'success' in our materialistic world of today. #mytwocents
Education / Re: Federal University Dutse Has Air-Conditioned Classrooms by jephiano: 11:48pm On Jul 19, 2012
Really this isnt something to celebrate.....we are not being 'haters' by saying this. My Alma mater (RSUST, Port Harcourt) had classrooms with AC in the '80s but around 2003 it was ranked as the worst University in Nigeria.
Thats why i find it pretty pathetic that government is planning to build six new universities and some governors are offering free education. I think government should equip the existing universities instead. Some months ago, some PHD students visited the industrial lab i work in to see a Gas Chromatograph(GC). They had never seen it before. Imagine! These are Phd students o! They know all the operating principles and theories but could easily damage it if asked to operate it.
I mean, Nigerian undergraduates, aint u guys tired of reading about and learning the theoretic principles of the important instruments and equipments in your respective fields?
Sports / Re: Blessing Okagbare Wins 100m In London Diamond League by jephiano: 8:01am On Jul 15, 2012
I remember those days how Davidson Ezinwa and Olapade used to beat the top athletes before the olympics and then come to the olympics and struggle to get to the final! I hope this is not her peak because her rivals have programs that ensure that they peak at the olympics. Before someone starts ranting about how we dont ever see any good in our achievements pls know that i wish her the very best o which is a gold medal in each event she participates in. But we have seen our good athletes burnout at the wrong time while those they used to beat months or weeks earlier go on to set World or Championship records.
Business / Re: Do You Destroy Your Scratch Card After Use? by jephiano: 5:58pm On Jul 07, 2012
I heard this rumour some days ago and i put in the same file i keep stories about 'Killer Beans' and 'Killer Number'.
But that doesnt mean our Police are not capable of similar stuff. Two years ago,my friend's car was broken into by thieves and they stole his bag containing cash, a laptop and some other stuff like ATM cards and the like.
The next day at work he was advised to make an entry and police report in a station nearby and he reluctantly did so and this basically saved him alot of wahala. It seems the police later caught the thieves and saw his stuff with them. They now claimed that his stuff fell while an armed robbery gang was escaping and that he is one of the robbers! One of the officers even told him to bring 150K so he would help him as his ibo brother! Well the report he made in the other station was what enabled him to leave that station without being arrested or paying serious money.
So for me, i'd say destroy the cards afterall it really doesnt require any effort to do so.
Romance / Re: Help!! My Friend's Boyfriend Wants To Date Me!!! by jephiano: 9:37am On Jul 02, 2012
@OP: put that your 'boyfriend you really like' in your shoes. Imagine him faced with the dilemma you are faced with right now. Think of what you would EXPECT him to do about you and the other girl. Whatever you come up with is the step for you to take......

Foreign Affairs / Re: Malawi's President Sells Presidential Jet And 60 Mercedes Limousines by jephiano: 11:29pm On Jun 01, 2012
A Colleague once told us of his friend who is House of Reps member. This 'honourable' has 11 cars in his abode in ABJ. When our colleague querried him on why he had so many cars he said something like: 'guy leave am, motor don do me something for this life. U know how we been suffer na. Naim i resolve sey i go show motor pepper when i make am'. Now this is just ur average house of reps dude. What about the senators, ministers, governors etc? I suppose they may hav sent their cronies to Malawi to buy the cars and jets off the 'foolish' woman by now.

This is so sad. Though i have never heard of her or her work, i wonder how the husband is coping right now.... We share wedding dates (July 30, 2011) and my wife just safely delivered a baby girl on Tuesday May 29th (a day after Mrs. Agbo lost her life during childbirth). I really wish the family the strength and fortitude to cope with this trialsome period. Kai!! See wahala!!

Politics / Re: Nigeria Nabs 26 Oil Thieves, Majority Ghanaians by jephiano: 1:29pm On May 09, 2012
Abeg make i hear word!! Na today?! There are two most likely reasons why we even got to hear about this:
1) The oil thieves did not pay the approved 'toll' to the security authorities.
2) They paid to the wrong people.
Bunkering is alive and kicking and its making so many multimilionaires!!
Politics / Re: An Open Letter To President Goodluck Jonathan By Chief Timipre Sylva by jephiano: 10:50am On May 06, 2012
I dont like to comment on political issues because i know politicians in general are a big waste of time but pls where are the real Bayelsans on NL? I believe that the OP and people like Kusugh are not from Bayelsa and do not stay there. I am from Bayelsa (infact from Nembe, the same community Silva is from) but i stay in PH. I cant really say i personally know much about things on ground but i have asked and consulted widely about Silva's performance and NOBODY i repeat NOT ONE PERSON (as in among common people)has had any good thing to say about him. Nigerians are not so difficult to please; thats why people like Fashola, Ngige even Amaechi have their fans. So no real person who knows his antecedents would even feel an iota of pity for him. Ask, any time he has issues bayelsans actually jubilate on the streets. He is THRASH; they all are in varying degrees.

To kinda digress, what of the judge that allowed Odili (fmr Gov. Of Rivers) to get an injunction that prevents his administration from being investigated by any security agency? Now Odili's wife is a Supreme court judge.....na wa for Naija o. Such people should be in jail.
Romance / Re: Which Profession Is Likely To Have More Flirts? by jephiano: 5:53pm On Apr 20, 2012
I read this thread to the end just to confirm the fact that most people dont even know what the word 'flirt' means.
Flirting basically is behaviour that is intended to show romantic or sexual interest in another person either just for fun or with hope for something more serious later; it doesnt mean sleeping around. If in doubt, check ur dictionary or Wikipedia. Una dey fall hand o.
