Travel / Re: Nigerian Nurses And Midwives With The Dream Of Working Abroad Let's Meet Here. by joaquin64(m): 10:56pm On Dec 15, 2022 |
I am a male travel ICU RN living in Dallas, TX. Well experienced, accomplished and entrepreneurial. Are there any Nigerian societies/groups/clubs/events where Nigerian RN's meet up in DFW or TX region? I am looking for like-minded RN's to network with and share nursing-related (or other) business ideas with. Or explore new travel RN opportunities together. I am in the process of exploring infusion, concierge, home health business ideas and would like to know/see if nay other Nigerians are doing the same thing so we can share ideas. I currently PRN for Nursedash and medeley and waiting for a new travel contract confirmation here in TX. Leave contact info, thanks. Thanks! 1 Like 1 Share |

Career / CAPM/PMP Certification Exams by joaquin64(m): 6:03am On Oct 28, 2014 |
Hi, as some of us can see or have heard, PMP/CAPM is becoming a huge deal in the world and being certified is very important. Most of the threads on this issue have become old so I wanted to start a new one. Please is there anyone interested in sharing information or pdf copies of certain materials online? For example I am looking for Rita Mulcahy's book on CAPM exam prep. Thanks. PS: Also if you would like pdf copies of the PMBOK 5th Edition (latest) which is the only book you would ever need and should only use to study for both PMP/CAPM, you can drop your email. I also have Rita Mulcahy's PMP exam prep book (most used/popular book for the exam preparation part) and an extra PMP Exam practice test and study guide by another popular author. Send to others that ask you for it in return. Share knowledge and help one another. Thanks. 1 Like |

Educational Services / Re: Great And Full Scholarship Opportunity In Turkey. Application Deadline June 1st. by joaquin64(m): 7:23pm On Jan 10, 2014 |
hijan: Hello I would advise you to go to the Turkish embassy in your country and ask them for information. There are lots of lebanese students in Turkey so your chances are pretty high. Especially in METU. There may be an easier way through a direct agreement between your country and Turkey to get awarded a scholarship that is why i insist you get information directly from them. If you cant get to the turkish embassy for direct information, You can check http://www.ytb.gov.tr/ or http://www.tubitak.gov.tr/en/scholarship/undergraduatesgraduates/international-programmes/content-2215-graduate-scholarship-programme-for-international-students for information on turkish scholarships. For other international scholarships you can check this site, http://www.scholars4dev.com/ it may help. Good luck |

Health / Re: Nigerian Meals That Kills Body Fat by joaquin64(m): 5:59pm On Jan 09, 2014 |
Food that kills fat. Just listen to yourselves and review your logic again. What a fail. So, lets assume I listened to you and I ate 400g of brown rice a day(you said it kills body fat, right?), that should amount up to say 1200 Kcal. I also ate some of the other things you listed that "kills fat" and that brought my daily calorie intake to lets say 2500 Kcal. . In the end, I ate 500 calories more than my Basic Metabolic Rate. No excercise. Nothing to burn off the calories I just took in. At least I know all I ate where foods that "kill body fat" so I would not be fat at all or I will lose weight. My friend you people should stop fooling yourselves and go lift some damn weights! You will pick up just about anything from the internet and believe it. You would never do research to understand how the body works but expect miracles. Some of you don't even know what your BMR's are or if you are ecto, endo or mesomorph body types. Many of you have absolutely no idea how "fat" is stored in the body or how carbs and protein play a role in it. Do you even know what the word fat is in the first place? There is no food that "kills fat". They even put olive oil there on the list and I am sure many of you will still believe that kills fat. Olive oil is only rich in monosaturated fat (the good kind of fat) and not polysaturated fat. Either way, go and drink a whole bottle of olive oil and see if you would slim down tomorrow na! The only thing that kills fat is you going to the damn gym or playing some damn sports and burning off excess calories you got from food that day. Except you want to eat less than your BMR everyday or starve yourselves everyday till you lose weight, then be my guest. You dont have to be a nutritionist or a fitness expert to understand logic. Food that kills body fat? My left toe. 3 Likes |

Webmasters / Re: How Do Mobile Apps Earn??? (whatsapp,2go & other) by joaquin64(m): 4:47pm On Jan 09, 2014 |
The folks selling WhatsApp make money through the tried-and-true method of sales. Currently, they sell their application for $0.99 in the US (61p here in the UK). The company's value is believed to be in excess of $1billion, likely around $2-4billion based on 300million current users and expected growth. For all phone kinds, WhatsApp is free to download and try for the first year. After, you have the choice of extending your subscription for $0.99 USD per year. Subscriptions are increasing, so if you pay for an additional year of service, it will add to your current subscription or free year-long trial. There is no difference between the paid and free versions of WhatsApp other than the length of service. WhatsApp is available for Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, Nokia S40, Symbian, and Windows Phone. If you're wondering why they charge instead of offering the WhatsApp for free as an ad-supported app, they explain it like this: Their 2 programmers worked at Yahoo! for a combined 20 years, and saw the wasted time spent tuning back-end software to serve ads; time that could be better used improving the application itself. As well, they wanted to offer the best user experience that they could, and not ruin the aesthetics of their software with ads, thus they chose the paid approach instead. You can read their entire blog post on their reasoning here. I did not write this, I got it from http://www.kgbanswers.co.uk/how-does-whatsapp-make-its-money-and-how-much-has-it-made-and-how-much-is-it-worth/16655509 Next time just ask Google and leave opportunity for more interesting topics to get space on Front Page. At least for celebs they have genuine reasons to be fake because their jobs demand it in a way for publicity. Why doesn't he focus on the people from his church and family? Even if D'banj was in the wrong, we have heard and there is nothing we can do to help you about that. He is no god but a human being that makes mistakes. His fans will still love him and buy his music anyway. You are healed now through the help of someone else, be grateful to God and whoever that helped you and STFU! Family / Re: Just Discovered I Have A 9 Year Old Daughter by joaquin64(m): 4:30pm On Dec 27, 2013 |
First of all, congrats on your discovery if it applies here. Isn't there a reason why she didn't bother to reach you at all in 9 years to tell you? You could reach her somehow so surely she too could also have found a way to reach you but she didn't. I understand its hard knowing that she exists and you would indeed be doing what looks like the right and selfless thing to get in touch but then again, there are many others now involved that it may complicate things for. Are your motives of trying to get in touch as selfless as you suppose they are? I suggest you think carefully about this and speak to others to find out the real reason why you were kept out of the dark this long and then suddenly got word of her existence. Why do you think you were "cunningly" informed by this friend? What are the circumstances involved? Would the husband (I assume she is married too because you said "I am also married) of your baby mama really want to know? What happens after he knows and he does not remain in his marriage? What has the mother told the daughter about you (or nothing about you) all this time? All in all, your wife, how would this play out for both of you? Nigerian women are not as understanding when it comes to issues like this. Find out everything before you make any hasty decisions especially how this news got to you after so long. Why now? Weigh the pros and cons and whatever conclusion you get to, be thoroughly decisive and see it through 100%. No one can really know your heart and tell you what to do but if it is in the right place, it will always turn out best in the end. After all, the girl (who is the most important to consider here) is only 9 years and may find it hard to understand. It may be much better to wait a few more years till she is at an appropriate age to understand these things. 2 Likes |

Pukkah: I agree. Fascinates me too. On matters like this it is always best to listen and be open to every side knowing the answers would never be set in stone. Best agree to disagree. But then there are those that would insist on forcing their belief through to you forgetting and contradicting themselves that they are not as omni-super-certain like the God they speak for. |

Pukkah: I realize he never really answers the question. Then again, we can all guess why and it is no fault of his/hers either. It really can NEVER be that simple when it comes down to matters of faith and fact... |
Religion / Re: Preacher Attempts To Walk On Water And Drowns. by joaquin64(m): 3:36pm On Dec 27, 2013 |
Validated: God charges man with the task of making followers of his people. He did this in both the old and new testaments giving his disciples "power". This power is what was defined to be performing miracles. You say he is the miracle worker, I agree, and he does this through man who he ordained. You know all the examples I need not list them for you. Moses "showcased" God's miracles for not just one motive, but many. Ultimately to save his people, I agree, but how? Wasn't it all a medium to showcase God exists to people who failed to believe? Doubt and miracles go hand in hand. As long as we are man, we are doomed to doubt and that is no fault of ours. The biblical perspective is always the easiest road to take when things warrant an explanation isn't it? And with it comes its own intrinsically built-in mechanisms and clauses to make us not question, ask or find out how if not we may be damned to its equally constructed hell. You have argued your point which I totally understand but you have failed to answer something I initially mentioned on man's natural curiosity and why he would forever question and test things including biblical illustrated miracles or happenings. Man doubts, and (correct me if I am wrong) isn't that why some, if not most, miracles were performed. You mention motive especially that of saving lives. Saving lives aside, many examples of miracles in the bible, were they not done to make believers out of people? Yes or no? So if this so called pastor (or other people/believers/pastors/etc) were doing the same to make believers out of people like the disciples did, was he then so wrong? Or this honor died with the people written about in the bible and stopped short from the 21st century people? Or God just happened not to ordain this guy? What if this pastors motive was indeed to innocently please the God he claims to worship? How do YOU know what he was really up to? Your answer to this will eventually come down to my initial point of contention, the law of don't put to the test, along with the other laws and sayings that were written to conveniently not answer the questions of why man doubts and questions in the first place. Where do we draw the line on defining what motives are clear cut against the rules? Diverting a little now from the case in point, a scientist testing the possibility of humans walking on water or the ability to change water to wine is certainly not testing God exactly or is he? I should think not because he is definitely testing the possibility of an occurrence and not God him/herself. But then you mentioned to please God or man? He is certainly doing so to satisfy his curiosity which means he is pleasing himself and according to you, testing that with the motive of pleasing himself and not God is tantamount to putting God to a test. I draw this conclusion entirely from your above statement, nothing else. If i misunderstood you, feel free to prove me otherwise. In the end, we can all sit here all day and argue for what we believe or understand be it scientific or religious but it all comes down to this. Man will forever feel the need to question and put to test the impossible. We were taught all our lives though that in following God, we should never question the unbelievable, the marvelous, or the impossible. So, I am a believer like you and I guess the best way is simply to keep quiet about these things and take it as we read about it with faith. ...or we simply agree to disagree on the matter. |
