LASG needs to take action on signboards owned by mushroom political parties especially since elections are over.

I appreciate everyone for your nice contributions, I was actually thinking of paralleling some of these hybrid Inverters that has battery less mod, like once advertised by MPPSolar whether it could require less number of batteries since load will only be used during the day when sun is up. So I think I should continue on Gen for now maybe in future I will have what it takes to go completely solar. Thank you very much guys.

You can check Growatt SPF5000TL-ES model , Max PV input voltage is at 450V and can parallel 6units and at 48V,

So, you can use this for your load.

Also you may need to incorporate a soft starter to kill the high start up current draw from the motors when theya re switched on which is as high ads 300%.

Cheers

Just an update

the PIN never got to work, I reset to factory using recovery mode
then , on boot, it asked for the Mi cloud account password- checked
google also asked for gmail confirmation which was done and phone is okay now

thanks for your effort to help

It's very simple. Look for the owner of the phone and tell him/her to put the pin. It'll work like magic, trust me.

lol, the owner is a colleague at work, he owns the phone, he told me cos i use Xiaomi and i cant seem to get it pass.

please note- when you input wrong passcode the time it gives you to try again increases as you repeatedly try, but no matter how repeatedly you put this, its always 4 minutes
Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Konnektions146(m): 4:29am On Nov 07, 2019
I have a Redmi 4x that refuses to accept pin to unlock

each time , it asks you input PIN to unlock, it asks you to wait for 4 minutes, If it was a wrong pin/unlock code, it would increase the trial time progressively.

Any help?

i tried to flash the password clean but its unlocked

We will be having a meeting with the installer in the days to come but in the office we settled with the following specs. (Basics)

96 nr 340w solar in 4S6P x 6 strings
6 nr Midnite Combiner box
6nr 250/100 Victron Smartsolar Charge Controller
3nr 48/15000/200-100/100 Victron inverter paralleled to give 3 phase.
9nr 48/13.8kw Lithium batteries complete with bms connected in parallel to give 124.2kw
Busbars, fuses, etc

i have read all suggestions and they are making sense in all aspect

if i should lend my voice, as someone said, you could invite more installers to present a quote and let them come and present their bid and defend it , with your knowledge, you can choose the best.

That said, i thin you should look at a more sophisticated and stable system ,

Growatt has some inverters that can serve the purpose you seek (Growatt HPS 50) should do the job, they also can sell you Lithium batteries and match the BMS to work effectively with their inverter . its more like a coplete package and when they system gets here you install your solar panels , run them through the inverters and you are fine.

I have a hotel project that is oncoming but relatively bigger than your office project

also note, the higher the voltage , the more stable a system is , so i would go with a higher voltage than a 48v system unless you do not have a choice , you need to really manage your cabling well because higher current translates to having realy large cables to tranport them around.

based on what i wrote above, here are my suggestions

1. consider inverters from other manufacturers like growatt, Solax, Kostal , goodwe (they have 3 phase storage inverters thats globally accepted and efficiency is top notch)
2. be careful with Lithium ion batteries and how you incorporate BMS to a system with BMS already.
3. check Meritsun Battery company, they have some 48v100AH that can do parallel to get your desired storage sze.
4. Think about Lead carbon from Narada or sacred sun battery if you are not using lithium.

hope this helps

Thanks for posting this. This is great news and makes me a bit more optimistic about Lithium although it does little to change my current stand that Lithium works best when procuredas an integrated all in one plug and play package. This is where it shines. We have a 150k dollars solar project at work and i am recommending we use lithium because at that scale and the money involved it is a no brainer. But for the average solar DIY Turnkey plug and play solutions are totally out of reach for now. And the time value of money and the huge thin margin of failure involved in assemblying lithium battery packs made up of different independent components clubbered together together to work as a unit is something I am not ready to dabble in. I don't have that much money to waste. The day we have a knock on wood lithium battery based solution plug and play and within reach then count me in. For now lithium would be solution for enterprise, large scale project, and specialised applications like mobile and auto where the economy of scale makes it a no brainer

Really, the DIY is what most are concerned about, i have been working on preliminaries for a project and i found out many companies sells a plug and play Lithium power pack solutions , LG chem, Meritsun, BYD etc and also some others sells with their high end inverters like Growatt, ABB etc

I have a project i am currently working on , 270KW of solar panel with 710KWH of battery power(considering OPzV though customer says Lithium is what he wants), in this case , the whole inverter and Lithium could be gotten as a solution is a shipping container and thats it,

also, another option is getting 40KWH Nissan Leaf batteries and working it out using some BMS but this requires some serious time and effort investment.

the Lithium Journey is an interesting one and if i have to be sincere, its taking over the Renewable energy space

First off,

No insurance would pay for damage done willfully / planned

then, this is a case of bad dealership, of which someone would get fired for this.

this is a publicity stunt as a result of frustrated customer , his social media handles would gain increased followership,

Mercedes Benz definitely will not take this well and my guess they will replace that car for him and make him preach the Benz gospel because thus stunt just mad MB loose some prospective customers and existing ones too.

the guy is smart, he will be fine

meanwhile, he may not have called the camera guys, just some guys around with cams and as well photo journalists

I still wonder why people complain about poor data service on glo especially on Nairaland. I believed this for almost a year until I subscribed on a brothers phone. I must say in all the States I have been to in recent times, Lagos, Kaduna, Maiduguri and Abeokuta, I have no regrets subscribing because it wasn't a bad experience. I even had to switch from MTN to glo at Maiduguri because mtn really sucked where I was.
Glo isn't that bad

My Dear,

It's a pity how we bad mouth and kill ourselves, we complain they are horrible , unusable data service, stoopeed coverage , etc

Yet glo is better than the rest,

If u match cost to quality of service ratio, glo is No. 1 in Nigeria,

At least they don't cheat you, they don't short changed you,

Why not keep mum or criticize objectively

I am overly glad and excited that i am chatting with someone who knows about economics mnd I can see u understand my points. the instability is still there because the fdis too are watching and they know that the rates been used today are there because of government internvention not as a result of economic growth. What happens if there is a slash in oil prices and the fx isnt coming in again? That is why we need to develop fast areas we know we can use as an economic base and diversify from oil. The same mistake the previous governments made is what this government too is making .

How willing in real sense are those direct investors?

Making a comparative analysis, and weighing options, they are rather using this as immediate solution to better the lot of the masses by bringing down rates than allowing the so called "market forces* to take over waiting for FDIs and the the .masses wallow high cost of living.

Nigeria is not ripe for uncontrolled FX market

Check what's going on in BTC space in Naija, other rates are coming down, USD is coming down, ours is going up.

All your suggestions are right in a sane clime, not Nigeria
Business / Re: CBN Injects Another $190m Into Forex Market by Konnektions146(m): 8:22am On Jun 20, 2017
onatisi:

Baba mi, what is needed to move the economy forward isnt this. What the nation needs now is productivity and the rates you are seeing now arent the true reflection of the economy that is the major rreason why fdis wont come in now and we need the fdis. What is needed is massive funding of projects to boost the nation production base and get ppl more employed. Do you really know the impact 6 billion dollars would have had on the economy if judiciously spent on good projects? 6 billion is like over 1 trillion naira , massive road constructions ,give loans to farmers, fund the construction projects that employs massively. When ppl are working the economy will improve. This government is only funding importation.

Okay,

Did you know that the FDIs are not coming as they should cos of the instabilities, also because of the advices from those IMF peeps, check Egypt, Venezuela,
I understand we need to fund project to grease the economy but FX plays a huge role .

I heard on the news yesterday that 350b would be released as first tranche to MDAs for projects as part of 2017 budget implementation, I think it's cool but they should make it faster, also there should be some commitments from the bosses at the helm to use the monies well.

The 6b NGN was sold, not dashed out, invariably meaning that CBN is selling their FX which Must also be sold eventually cos we use Naira here and not foreign currencies,.

So , I would think that our focus should be, making the economy more liquid by project financing and massive construction, and that would be done by the MDAs,

How sincere are we to make it work?

Governance is a wholesome task, CBN has it's role, ministries has, judiciary also does have.....

Listening to world Bank and IMF would get us where Venezuela is currently, and I bet, we still gonna complain

Let Dem manage the economy/fx as it currently is and it can only get better

Onatisi,

With due respect Sir, what are you saying?

Everything in Nigeria is fx dependent,
We cry that USD/ NGN exchange is high and that's why cost of living and doing business is also high, CBN tried to make things better and yet we complain and whine, even business people refuses to bring down cost of items and when you ask, they say it's old stock
..please tell me, whose fault?

You may call it senseless but it's actually working, you do FX and I understand where you are coming from but must we cos of our personal wants discredit what good they are doing?

Injecting into the FX market sure ain't the beat option but it has proven to work, what if they did wat IMF and works bank advised, USD would be over 1000naira by now and we suffer more,

I guess the CBN is using this method to buy time, as soon as the dangote refinery and other modar refineries come in stream, they will ease off these injection, then we have less pressure on FX.

Don't forget over 50% of our fx goes to importation of refined petroleum products

By late next year, we can even export and earn FX.

So,let us not always be blinded by our personals and have a positive outlook to events

Cheers
