Just logged into my old account and saw some old names.

Does anyone remember when ishilove and naptu2 were policing this thread? Lol

It is so funny how they left silently after they saw that everyone was fed up with their bullshite.

So embarrassing on their part. Lol

I watched it the minute it came out on YouTube. I wholeheartedly respect Dave's viewpoint on the matter, still, I must say that I shook my head at some of the points he was trying to make or counter.

I understand that emotions are running high at the moment due to that man's death, but the aftermath has been nothing but pointless protests, riots, anarchy, political pandering and celebrity bunking.

Police brutality affects all races.

Police brutality affects black people disproportionately more

My God!

1) Where have you ever seen me clamour for any new thread.

2) Where have you ever seen me say anything about any comic book argument (I actually enjoy comic book arguments).?

grin This is funny.

I don't have to make a single post on a thread in order to report people who break rules. I report lots and lots of posts each day on lots and lots of threads on which I will never make a single post (checkout my activities on the politics section). It's my right and I will continue to do it without apology, just as I will always post on any thread I feel like posting on.

This is my last post on this matter. I couldn't give a rat's ass what anybody thinks about it.

@ bold, you are claiming rights on the internet. Please, are you Seun Osewa's father? Is nairaland your
property?

Anyhow, I have left you to your conscience.

I will mind my own business for now.

On a brighter note, I'm going to watch Rambo 1-3

That's what he does, he comes here, drops a post about some obscure movie and proceeds to report posts he deems to be "derailing".

The purpose, of course, is to make it seem like he is a contributor, therefore, jerking off his conscience into a state of blasé comatose. Naptu2

I'm happy that people can see what is happening on this thread.

By the way, have you watched Dave Chapelle 8:46
TV/Movies / Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by logicboy: 8:27am On Jun 18, 2020
Really? We review Hollywood movies here and not Nollywood. But when someone talks about black lives matter, we are now complaining that he should focus on black Nigerian lives? Is that fair?

Oya,

Mjbolt, alexistaiwo, capslocked, Mekaprime, naptu2, pryme.

Let's review this Dave Chapelle 8:46 Netflix special 2020

But he doesn't deserve to be insulted for being passionate about movies. My illustration with Koice had nothing to do with if Koice was an intelligent reviewer or not; I was just trying to let him know that despite how high Koice was held, Koice still got insulted for it.

My point is, no matter what one do or say, not everyone will like him or her.

And I don't see Mekaprime as a low-key Koice. Yes, Koice is without a doubt several levels above him when it comes to general movies discussion and knowledge, but it's not a competition. No-one is perfect. We're all here to learn and to teach others, not to compete with who's best or not.

Mekaprime is just doing his thing. One day, he might reach Koice's level of knowledge on movies. Rome wasn't built in a day. We all started somewhere. Once upon a time, Koice was a learner when it came to movies.

He should be encouraged not insulted. Mekaprime has been helpful to me if not to others. With his movies ratings and suggestions, I've been able to watch and note down some movies I'll watch in future. For example, it was after Mekaprime dropped the rating and review of Monster that I got to read extensively about the serial killer and watch the movie. Without him, I probably wouldn't have gained that knowledge.

Everyone can't be Koice and doesn't need to be. We're all different.

Well said.

I stand corrected. Apologies to mekaprime. Like I said, he is trying.

Don't let the jibes get to you. Live your life and watch enough movies as you can and like. Not everyone will like you.

Despite how instrumental Koice was in helping many people with links to movies, ratings and movie and series suggestions, some of his detractors labeled him jobless coz of the sheer amount of knowledge he had about movies and series.

So, if Koice could be insulted for trying to help some people out, it shouldn't be a thing of surprise if you ever get the tag. Nobody pays your bills or provide food for you, so just do whatever makes you happy as long it's not a crime. If Watching a lot of movies does it for you, to hell with anybody's opinions.

Koicereloaded was an intelligent reviewer.

I remember discussing some science fiction movies with him.

Mekaprime is trying but he seems to be a low budget koicereloaded, no offense.

There are very few people here that I can discus the intricacies of time travel with on this thread.

Cant wait for TENET 2020 to come out. It is some kind of reverse time travel movie

Please go and do this on an American forum.

We are too busy dealing with tribalism to care about racism at the moment.

ANYBODY WHO CAMPAIGNS FOR BLACK LIVES MATTER WHEN WE'RE DECAYING AND BARELY SURVIVING IN OUR OWN COUNTRY IS A BLOODY FOOL AND A HYPOCRITE.
WHAT IS MY BUSINESS WITH GEORGE FLOYD WHEN SARS ARE KILLING YOUNG MEN EVERY DAY IN MY BACKYARD?

Dave Chapelle 8:46 NETFLIX 2020 9/10

You people are funny. Someone was reviewing and commenting on a comedy show about Black Lives matter in America, and you guys piled on him by throwing a strawman about Nigeria's problems.

Do you guys not know about logical fallacies?

Structure of the strawman fallacy

X: Police brutality in America against blacks is bad. Black lives matter.

Y: You are should focus on Boko Haram brutality as you are on a nigerian forum and black Nigerian lives matter.

Note 2 things.

1. X did not argue that Nigerian black lives do not matter

2. X could be an American or a Nigerian living in America.

3. There is nothing wrong in discussing an American issue close to your heart on a Nigerian forum. After all, we discuss american Hollywood movies.

LoL! Thanks for the compliment and reminder. I had high hopes for this thread, I had to just take what I got.

It is unfortunate that some of them couldn't be honest with the issue.

I applaud Lagosshia for his honesty on Saudi Arabia
