@ogbefi, how far have you gone with your building, as of me still waiting approval of my plan before i can start the foundation digging, i have gotten 2000 blocks already for the foundation work.

&sweetedge, my brother, I have got to decking stage for now, but ran out of fund, during the subsidy saga I refuse to stop cos I had limited time to spend in 9ja, so I bought cement n other stuffs like iron rod at very high price, I m back to base now and I m burning my butt off , intact as we speak a colleague in the office just called to tell me they ve paid our salary, make I dey gather the money small small, by GOD grace before the rain start I ll keep off the decking. I sent some pix in Sypder tread u go go through to see how far I ve gone so far! Wishing u quick approval of plan my brother! God with us all

@sweetedge I forgot to add, thou it depend on the size if ur building I will advice as soon as u mold up to 4500 block just stop cos if u mold 9" to start foundation u will need like 6"for the upper part, so try to maximize ur blocks. Some of my blocks were wasted cos i molded more than I required for the ground flat, and can not start fencing now cos during decking materials will ve thro different enterance to the plot.

@ogbefi, Thanks very much for your advice, my plan is 5 bedroom bungalow, i only mold 2000 blocks just for the foundation work i dont know yet if it will be okay, until then i have to wait for the approval then i shall proceed with the foundation digging.

First of all, i'd advice you commence work on your site while waiting for the approval if you wish as that for now is not really a challenge in Amagba as the town planning people have not started exploring Amagba for compliance. But if i may ask, for how long has your plan been taken for approval?

Furthermore, as for the qty of blocks to use, that will depend purely on your house plan i.e how big or small the house is. For mine, about 3800 blocks was used to lintel level. Cheers.

@ Don Vito Thank you very much my brother, My Architect just finish with the plan yesterday so it will be to sent for approval by Monday, i am naive about this foundation issue, i just want to know what will the cost look like to set the foundation to lintel level, i already have roughly 2000 blocks @ my site. i will commence with the foundation digging by next Month Ishi Allah.

Sorry to talk before Don Vito, but his answer should be for comparison sake as this house may not be the same size as a double flat, how many bedrooms do you have in each wing sef?

But we are still expecting Vitodorado to say something.

I have 3 bedrooms, a small store, kitchen, lounge and dinning in each wing. Though its not the same as Vito's but his will give me a guide.

Second thing i noticed generally is that most house construction pic i have seen here are done using 2by2, 2by3 and 2by4's.  Here in europe you will be talking 2by6 etc.

Thank you vitodorado. You made my day! I was scared after seeing the number of bags suggested by Spyder880. I was doubting my builder ever since. The total number of bags of cement quoted for me is 35 + 25 = 60. 25 for blinding and 35 for german floor. The foundation of my building is starting soon and its 2 wings. But I think your building is bigger than one wing but probably less than the 2 wings. I wing is a 3-bedroom flats with kitchen, small store and 3 toilets.

Though my builder said the 60 bags are just estimate. From from your experience, please how many bags of cement should be used to make it solid. I don't want to manage neither do I want to use cement more than necessary.

Good to be back on NL everyone! I can see that a lot has happened on the property section especially with Am Alone aka Oluwa4sure breasting home with his oluwa champion castle. So inspiring indeed. However, this is how i've gone so far myself. The ceiling (POP) work has commenced this week and will update as i progress.

Just to also add this lovely crib that looks so much like mine also which i spotted while driving round the community. Love the stone tiles finishing

@Vito, great job you are doing here. Does this amount of 421k inclusive of sliding mosquito netting and burgary or is it just the windows alone or is it windows and window frames?.

Please, i will like to know the company when you bought the aluminium windows. please, where can i buy the toilet and bathroom stuff( shower and wash hand basin and other things). i don,t live in Nigeria. i will be there in few weeeks times.

@NL1960 The 421k does not include the burglary proof but only for the powder coated aluminum windows and mosquito net. While my burglary windows cost 82k.
