You don't know me! I love him. Why would I betray him? I'll take a bullet for him if I have to. He wants to marry me! The joint account is to save for us both. That's why Nigerians are where they are, we are planning long term. You can't build a future on love alone. I'm being reasonable.

When Nigerian girl loves... If you leave me I would die. But they leave you for random guys.

Trust their love at your peril.

I suppose. We weren't born rich, so I absolutely want us to live better. When I had a job, I saved but I don't think he did. And it's frustrating. He talks alot about the future but all this time, we haven't really started working towards achieving any of our goals

Or I should just risk it? Stop planning, depend on fate? Trust him to make the best decision for us both?

Is your life tied to him!
Una do blood covenant?
His courage, you can't leave him speaks volume.
What a fuckery!
The guy is not prudent...He is an alcoholic.
Yet you wan die put.
As much as I am a guy, I regret not having a biological sister.
If you were my sister, I would enter into days of prayer and fasting to deliver you from bondage.

Your guy is in bondage... Alcoholism and wastefulness.
You are in bondage... Greed maybe and lust.

Don't go asking for his money.
Choose early the kind of father you want for your children... Marriage is beyond you, don't be self-centric. Think beyond you and get marriage right.

Why not a recurring fixed deposit from his account?
Why your account?

Banilla, you're a good person with good intentions. I think the guy loves and I am sure you love him back as well. However, in Nigeria, what you're suggesting has led to a lot of unprintable things, hence no Nigerian man will give a woman money to save for him, even if you're from the lineage of Peter Obi.
Women are naturally emotional just as you're exhibiting now, but by the time you find something k8ce you want to buy and you ask him for money he tells you there is no money, guess where your mind will flash to... Yeah definitely, you guessed right.
So you see, with money in your account, you've taken away his freedom, let him be and from how you're talking you're less than 22,thus at your age, anything can happen.
So just chill and enjoy your relationship while it lasts.

don't pressure him at all.. don't bring up the issue with him again...just only suggest and encourage him to have a savings account different from his normal account..but please don't mention that part of you wanting him to save in your account...has it occurred to you that he might be seeking advise from people on this matter too?..and most men will advise him that you are after his Money...YOUR INTENTIONS MAYBE GOOD,BUT ITS NOT ALL GOOD INTENTIONS THAT GOES DOWN WELL WITH PEOPLE..so just suggest for him and from time to time ask him how he is doing with the savings that's all

The earlier you leave the idio*t, the better for you, you don't. You have seen all the red flags but still want to stay with the idi*ot, thunder fire love. Let me tell you the truth, your type are usually dumped by men, because an average man doesn't care about loyalty, love or trust, especially men like the fool you are dating

Hi everyone! I have a boyfriend, we've been together for a year. I absolutely love him, he's my whole world! And that's the reason I'm pressuring him to save, if we're going to have a future together. And he's down for it, he makes nothing less than 200k monthly. I'm still a student, searching for a decent job. I can't invest sh** presently but I hope to start soon. Yesterday, I brought it up. I want him to send money monthly to my bank account, no matter how little. I'll save it for him. He's hesitating. He said I should be patient, he'll give me everything I need but he wants more time. I don't want to ruin our relationship but I need his co-operation. I'm scared he might leave me, after I've given him the best years of my life. I subtly threatened him that my family would force me to marry a Nigerian but he made a joke out of it, saying I would never, that I'm his... embarassed

What should I do?

NB: I've never taken a dime from him. He drinks often and I don't want him spending 'our future' on alcohol! I'm way better at saving.

I'm worried if I press the subject, he'll get mad at me.

I also told him I want to leave Nigeria, he thinks it's a good idea and I also told him I can't afford it alone. He said he needs time.

Doesn't he love me? Should I let it go? Or insist we resolve this?

Pls shut up and get a life. No let them do you watin that chiko man do that housa girl, Na person pikin head you wan take open church.
You're even coming here saying he doesn't know how to save and he's an alcoholic, this is someone you claim you love and here you are spilling his dirty laundry.

And don't be stupid, what makes you think he doesn't save? or you expect him to tell you how he spends his money?

Oh and btw, How about your sugar daddy hustle? No show?? cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy grin Leave the poor guy alone let him enjoy his life abeg cheesy cheesy cheesy

Give a lady money at your peril except you're comfortable to give it. It's very hard to find a lady who will give you money except she genuinely loves you or she has calculated that she will benefit later in the future.

Most ladies don't want to spend their own money, very wicked beings. grin grin

Rather than trying to make him to save his money in a bank, why don't you convince him that the both of you should do a joint investment since you want to have a future with him. Pool your money together and buy properties: lands or cheap buildings that comes out. Make a joint deed on the said property so none you can sell it without the other's knowledge. Buy stocks too and do the same. Things like that do appreciate than money that depreciates with time. No matter how small it maybe, it will still benefit the both of you in the long-run.

Remove the money from the narrative and ask yourself,do you love this son of man?
Just listen to yourself.
You want to be his bank.
He will give you money and you will keep for him.
Women and fish brain.
Who said he must marry me.
Because he is making over 200k,your brain starts planning marriage.
You just want to take advantage of him while acting like you really care about him but the whole plan is to entangle him like a rope.

At the end of the day after the guy has save money in your account you will end up telling him a family member is on sick bed and the money was spent for surgery..
My sister face your own life and don't pokenose in another's man's money.
Stop being a gold digger my dear sister, just forget about love because it has died long time ago.

I don't think you are intelligent at all, why would you ask a man to save his money in your bank account? I wonder why some men date senseless ladies, because to me a sensible lady will not talk like this. If you give me this kind of advice, you are a gonner. If you advise me to save I will forever cherish you, but I still don't understand what you mean by saying in your own bank account.

Girlfriend is what you still are.

You're not advising him to open another account and be fixing his savings there..
You're here saying that you're better suited.

How?

If you want us to believe that you can convince him very well, then convince us first.

How are you better fitted to be the custodian of his savings.??

you are being reasonable to save his money in ur bank account? .. Lol this is the most absurd thing I have heard or read this year, we have seen cases on here where girlfriend used money saved in her bank account by her boyfriend for their coming wedding to jakpa to oversea, leaving the guy stranded here... Nobody is a Saint when it comes to money, there are far more better ways to saved than in ur bank, when you finally did him dirty, there is absolutely no proof that he saved in ur account... Also I see in ur text that you are trying to use his money saved in ur own account as a leverage / Bargaining Power for him not to break up with you... See this is nonsense abeg, if u care about him telling him about piggyvest or suggest any corporative society to him, very simply...

It's a good thing that you want him to save, but are you sure you're disciplined enough not to use the money?

Since he says he needs time, I think you should respect his wishes before it turns into a bitter fight. But you can still continue to drop hints and drop subtle messages on why he should save. Hopefully he gets it.
Ok .

If you truly love that guy as much as you say you do, then tell him to save in any account that is not yours! undecided...

Asking him to save money in your account is VERRRRYY SUSPICIOUS and trust me, if I were in the shoes of your man, this would be a VERRRRRY HUGE RED FLAG undecided...

Advising him to save money is Awesome!! But advising him to save in YOUR account, nahhh that's just dubious if you ask me grin...
