You can't just conclude that way as it has happened to me before when the screen of my Toshiba broke and I had to leave it at home for some times till I fixed the screen.

Upon fixing the screen and it booted the windows 7 ultimate installed on it asking for its password,I couldn't remember it.
I couldn't format it because I have some applications installed that I didn't wanted to loose them because I won't be able to get them back.

I performed the Magic and my PC Windows 7 ultimate booted without requesting for the password in which I now set a new one on it.

It can also happen as a result of malware effects.Aside that,two or more people can be using a PC and one of them changed the password without remembering what he/she used.

Always reason before jumping into conclusion on any case as you need to investigate.

Since you have the pin for windows 8 follow these steps

Step 1: Sign in with PIN code

Step 2: Press Windows +X, and click on Command Prompt (Admin) and Yes.

Step 3: On the Command Prompt, type in: Net User username newpassword

and press Enter to reset a new password for Windows 8.

[b]Note: [/b]In the user name option enter your Profile name. If you used two words with a space within them i.e strings

put the user name in double quotes for example lets say it is big sam the way you would type it would be "big sam"

Choose a new password by typing a password in the newpassword space. It can be anything like 12345 or anything you want

download reset password software from the net or google such softwares.

Bro, the option above might probably work with computers that have Microsoft Windows XP installed, and provided password was not entered duration installation. It might not work with windows vista, windows 7, windows 8. If he is truly the owner of the pc, there are 3rd party softwares he can use.

@OP get the hard drive out, get an external hard drive case, connect it and get your files out, then do the needful: format your pc, or you simply re-install a new version of windows 7 or 8 your old files will be pushed to a folder called "windows of old"...

If it's power on password removing cmos can help but if it's windows password i recommend the software called ''rwp'' just find a flash drive make the software bootable then cold boot the system n let the system load from usb and follow the gui process,then see the magic after... Best way, if u like
