Let me add a little, I taught her how to control the vehicle by placing a lot of buckets in a large field used for playing football taught her how to avoid obstacles at slow speeds and gradually increased from 30-40-50-60kmph(instead of just running round in circles), she really learnt hardleft and hardright the hard way grin(lost a lot of buckets) angry. When we were don with going foward she learnt how to do every thing again in reverse gear cool
great of u!

I kept shouting and stopped teaching.
Common to turn the key and start the car was an issue initially, then while accelerating you would see both hands at the base of the steering, while turning the hands would form a cross on the steering (instead of freeing one hand while the other turns it).
I gave up mehn

u gat me laughing bro.

My mom learnt how to drive before I was born. She doesn't drive often but when she does drive, i dey fear. She can't relax even when you are driving her, always complaining. Watch out for that! A keke is comimg out of that street! Take it easy! Hope you are seeing those children by the road! Ah ah! Complaint too much

I was the same with my ex. I would point out all the road hazards.I hate seating in front of the car and he would scream at me to shut up. That would make me cry cos I was just showing concern in my own way. At a time, I started sitting at the back or would prefer to take public transport.

veryy funny thread...

I could remember yrs back, my elder sis will always be disturbing me to teach her how to drive, so on one faithfull sunday i told her, let go to a school field.
I opened the car door and put the key in ignition, to her to start the car for me, so i will drive to the school field. She entered the steering wheel, Oya start car nah, she touched the key in the ignition, come see sweat and fidgeting for my sis body ohh. she immediately came out of the car and told me she is not interested anymore. 3yrs has gone by and she is still procrastinating. buh if u carry her in the car ur ear will never remain the same. see this, see that, slowwww down, u waner overtake a lorry or truck, she will hold the dashboard soo strong, u will be hearing {small small}, u are on the speed lane to over take a big truck she will lean towards you from her own seat ohh(like bro this truck will touch us ohh shift that side nahh).. chaiii ladies can be soo funny sometimes.

I was taught how to drive many years ago by my younger brother. It was hell. We fought every time! He couldnt understand y his brother who was brilliant enough to be in medical school was so dull @ understanding "simple" thing as driving a car. Early this year, i tried to teach my wife how to drive and understood my brother's frustrations. We fought everytime! I had to stop teaching her the day she cried during one of our classes! She has been to driven sch. Now i still pay some1 to accompany her 2 and from work because of the crazy lagos drivers!

you hit your wife because she made mistakes? And you even left her to find her way back home? On top of that you aren't even ashamed to say it.. And you don't even seem sorry about it. Women dey suffer mehn! You better change your ways if this is how you treat a woman you are supposed to love and cherish!

If you have never screamed on your wife, i bet you, this will be the first time through this car teaching thing, you will do more than screaming at her!
My experience teaching my wife to drive was not a good one, cross like sign with her hand on the steering, Men it was hell....
Send her to driving sch, you will have rest of mind

A friend of mine was teaching his Sister-in-law how to drive.
While at the crossroad, an approaching car was trying to park near the frontage of an event place. The woman, so scared, left the steering and started screaming, " Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! Na like this accident take dey happen oooo!"

B'cos if to say she's my younger sister now I could shout on her but in her case I couldn't shout I was just telling her soft words of encouragement and it's f*cking killing me inside.. Lol!

LMAO!!! I can imagine!

My wife said she learnt how to drive some years ago but had not practised in a while. I sent her to a driving school to brush up for a month. After she finished, I decided to test her with my manual drive car. The car kept stalling and I kept on instructing her on what to do. After about 5 sessions and several hours of teaching her, I decided to test her on a long route. I saw my life flash before me and I couldn't take it any longer. I had to get a neutral guy to teach her. After another two weeks of teaching, she came out an average driver.
She is still an average driver after several months of driving an automatic car daily and can not drive a manual gear car.

Lol....honestly bro, I still wonder why they always pull this stunt cheesy
Driving school is the best cos no matter how calm a person is, he must shout and complain.

My husband thought me how to drive and he was really patient with me, if not i would have had numerous accidents. Infact I salute him. The first few days was not easy because we kept yelling at each other. I remember I even had to park in the middle of the road one day and started shouting that I was not going again because I had no confidence then. Today I'm a better driver smiley

It is simple.
Enroll her in DS and teach her the basic driving skills at home.

It is better for the two of you, also it saves your lives, save you from unnecessary quarrels when teaching her driving.

Mine was a very good friend. We both working in the same company for about a year and half. We live in the same area, So i give her lifts to work. She pleaded with me to teach her to drive. First day, we drove around the vicinity. She wasnt that bad. I then told her that she should be the one driving us to work. The first time she tried to drive us to work, she told me she does not know the way to work. For a year and half we have been going to work, she is now saying she don't know the road to work.
She knows the regular road, but u know there commuters road,Okada road, tarred rd and motor-road...obviously she doesn't know the motor rd grin

I didn't teach her. I couldn't. I was impatient with her silly and repeated mistakes eventhough its auto tranny. got my younger bro to teach her. He's a more experienced driver than me and is patient with her being 'big bro's wife'. surprisingly, over 12 months driving all alone she hasn't bashed the car even once. Even myself haven't that record.

So funny! Rib cracking. Started learning to drive before I got married. But fear won't allow me. Hubby refused to teach me. He isn't a patient teacher and Gosh! I hate driving but driving now after going to two different driving schools one year apart. When I drive hubby and he complains, I simply take to correction or ignore him.
