Hi Guys,
I am going to apply for a general visit visa to the Uk this October for my graduation which is set to happen in November. This is because my student visa expired before the event. I have all the necessary documents including the visa support letter from my school.
However, I am confused about the bank statement required. It says that the statement should be of the last 6 months. I have a statement from January to July. There is hardly any activity on the account but it will cover the trip. Is this OK? Please advice.

Hello Everyone
Please i need advise about the best way to go about this.. I am a Nigerian student in the UK, doing my masters at the moment, I am married to a Danish Citizen, i will like to apply for a Uk resident Permit based on been a family member of an EEA

I will like to know the document i need to submit?

Is it ok for me to apply during my masters here in the UK

Does it matter that my wife is presently in Denmark at the moment?

What is the best way to go about this and how long does the processing takes?

You are not eligible to apply for a UK permit if your wife is not a habitual resident in the country

I greet u all specially for all ur EXPERIENCES and great contributions to members on this forum.
My question is this..... I have a conference to attend in the UK on the 10th of November 2014. Is it late to make my application online and book for an appointment on the 27th of this October 2014?

Good day house,

Please I wish to attend my brother's convocation in UK march next year.I am currently employed and will like to know if its compulsory to submit tax receipt.
Thanks

You need to do a budget of the trip....basically drawing the cost of the trip to you....ticket, shopping in the UK (if you plan to do that) accommodation(if you will be hosted then your host should provide evidence of accommodation for you) transport within the UK(if your host will be taking you around then he/her should state that in the IV), list of places you tend to visit while in the UK.

Employment letter, salary account, leave letter and IV from the person inviting you.

If the cost of ticket alone will take up to 2 months of your salary then it will be a tough one.

my question is dat can the person inviting her state that he or she is taking care of the tickets?

I'm not sure you need to do that. Your pay slip should be sufficient enough.

It may not be too late because on an average, many have seen their visa issued within 10 working days. Recently, my friend's one was issued within 5 working days (+ 2 to return to the VAC). More so, if your docs r "straight to the point", your application may not take up to 15 working days.

You have to be very very lucky to get a visa within that short period...good luck though, hope it works out for you.

Good day all, I appreciate the useful and helpful information provided on this thread and I commend the effort of does who out of selflessness provide them.
My Situation: I want to apply for a renewal of my 6 months Visa to 2 years

Blocking points:
1. I have left the company that stood as a sponsor for the first application and I am now with another coy with a salary of 200k monthly on a 3 months contract, however, I have spent 7 months with the new coy but they are yet to make me a staff, only renewal of the contract.
2. I plan to apply 1st week of Dec and by then I will have up to 500k in my account, but currently I have around 100k. but money goes in and out of my account every day.

My Question:
1. Can I still renew or do I start a fresh application

2.If I am to renew the visa; how do I go about it

3. How do I go about the employment letter; my employment letter reads 3 months? do I ignore it or don't include it in the application?. I can get payslips and my bank statement reveals payment from the new coy for the past 6 months

4. I have a British friend who is willing to invite me and I have pictures of us together from my last visit to the UK: Do I need the invitation letter

5. can I present my account with 500k balance and still state in the application that I want to sponsor myself?

1&2...are the same question...the process of renewing and applying for the first time are the same, no difference.
3. Use the blank space in the form to explain your contract situation, tell them that it's a rollover contract at the expiration of the initial 3 months.

4. Yes you need IV from your friend.

5. Do the budget of the trip....and answer these questions....will 500k buy me ticket, transport within the UK, shopping etc and will I have money left to survive when I come back to Nigeria?

PLS I NEED ADVICE. In 2012 I applied for a UK visiting visa and they refused me I reapplied and they gave me, I traveled and spend two months and two weeks, came back and after three weeks traveled back and spend a month and two weeks and came back, I did business in both trips but when I want to reapply the agent helping me then said I will not add those document for the business I did there, and after we submitted they refused me up to three times and I got a lawyer that helped me and the embassy called me to stay as I stated, I then traveled and stayed two weeks and came back loading one container and traveled again and stayed two months and two weeks buying two container, now applied for two years visa and they gave me six months, so my main help now is that I applied for two weeks stay but there is no way I can finish the business in two weeks, the list it can be done is one month, so what do I do with this six months visa so as to get two years after it?

Long term visas are not given on the basis of sequence, but on necessity.
As I can see, you seem to have the necessity for a longer term visa as you have proven to be in frequent need of one: therefore, (as a frequent traveller) I suppose the embassy will deem it necessary to grant the 2 years visa in your next application.
But why do you need an "agent"?
I don't wish to ruin people's businesses, but yet I like to encourage you that you don't need one, and to warn you of the danger of using an agent, you don't want to get banned, do you?
Contrary to your agent's advice I warn you to never hide whatever activity that you are involved in whilst in the UK, you could be investigated and nabbed:
And while it is not logical to state that you're doing BUSINESS with a tourist visa, it is ok to do some shopping with it.
When you travel again to the UK, use the opportunity make business contacts (and necessary documentations) so you may use them to apply for a business visa in your future application. This is way safer than to conceal information as your agent had suggested.

I actually responded with tourist visa in mind, you should have revealed this to make things easier for us.
Well then, why did your agent advice you to conceal your business activities since your visa was issued on business ground?

You can travel to the US via a UK airport without a transit visa provided you stay at the airport even if your onward flight is several days away, but you need a transit visa to leave the airport

I got Uk business visa for six months yesterday but I applied for two years visa and I applied for two weeks stay in the application form,
MY PROBLEMS NOW ARE:
1. Why did they give me six months but I applied for two years?
2. As the two weeks stay I applied in the form will not be enough, what do I do should I stay more than that two weeks?
