It depends on you, when you want use it.no its not too late.just know your timetable so you don't make a mistake when you register always check your email.then get materials and prepare;its all about "fast-thinking" and timing.

yeah same thing happened in my own case. I was able to bring in egusi and ogbonno because they were well dried, ground and put in a transparent cellophane bag and well labelled. I even included the scientific names for both of them and the official at the Australian immigration centre was thoroughly impressed grin grin. However not every bag was checked as some people passed without opening their bags. Also make sure you answer any questions asked (while filling out the declaration form on the plane as well as when checked after landing) as truthfully as possible. Safe journey y"all

P.S- Is anyone heading to Sydney?
Hello Chookudi, pls any information regarding PhD study at the University of Sydney. Already secured a place at the faculty of veterinary science but will like to know practical measures PhD students undertake to cushion the effects of the high tuition. I did my masters in S/Africa and had a good academic experience. Thanks.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by chookudi(m): 5:59am On Jan 28, 2015
Phd students are normally considered and given preference when research/teaching assistants are sought by some lecturers in the school depending on your area of research. Also Phd students are able to work for unlimited number of hours while studying. Depending on your tuition fee however, this may just partly cushion the effect of the heavy fee. Lastly, some scholarships may be available to phd students also depending on your faculty/area of research. you will have to check the school website for such as well as other scholarship websites.

to get to australia looks difficult to most people because they do not know how to go about it.The best form of travelling to australia is by processing the immigration. This is done right from the country. We have a dedicated lawyer right there in the country that does all the paper work that need to be done it takes time though and its worth the wait. Thanks cool

Thank you for your response. The IPRS form says only students presently undertaking their studies qualify for the semester 2 awards. That means alternative fundings will have to be sought for incoming students I guess. OK let's say a PhD student can manage to pay through the first year, do you think that chances are there to have scholarship or devise alternative interventions to meet his tuition?

I pay regular visits to the website.

IPRS is unsurprisingly competitive. Have you looked at other RHD scholarships available to incoming international PhD students? I would like to think that your proposed uni has some other types of scholarship e.g. the tuition-only, top-up scholarship, etc. I thought it's dicey to proceed to pay the first year fees by yourself with the hope of tapping a scholarship by 2nd year except you are looking at significantly improving your scholarly capabilities before 2nd year (a.k.a publishing), which may not be realistic.

Based on my several months of experience applying for PhD positions, I would say the best person to talk to about funding is your proposed supervisor or postgraduate coordinator of your proposed program.

It may not come easily but if you pursue it religiously (and not give up), you'll definitely smile at the end.

You can bring food stuffs like the normal garri, crayfish and dry ugu or bitter leaf... Even egusi but you have to grind whatever you need in Naija and seal it in a transparent bag and label it...but you won't be allowed to carry red oil or any liquid material

Has anybody bought PTA here?

Diamond says they can't sell to me as I don't have a visa label...even though I informed them Aus doesn't make it compulsory to have one.

They don't but some of the Nigeria immigration officers are naive about the label free. One more thing, don't exchange your dollar at airport oo
