So sori am just replying, network issue ni o. If ur hubby tinks he's up to it no wahala and also depend on hosp. Sum hosp wil take care of u and lo post delivery and relatives don't hv to do unnecessary running Ard but if u r to use a Govt hosp, one person can't go thru d stress of being wit u nd attending to the need of the baby while u rest post delivery then do the hosp runnings. Hope u find dis helpful

Those were the days my sister. I remember partcipating actively on the thread then, and I always looked forward to reading it. I wasn't even pregnant at the time.

Now, though I'm preggers with my 3rd, I hardly comment or show face sef.

Don't worry Beedam, you are finally there - just a few hrs more. The most important thing is that you and the baby are healthy.

You can watch live induction videos on babycenter. Basically, it's just an artificial means of starting labour. But the thing is, it is unpredictable ie if it will work or when it will work. If it doesnt work, CS becomes the last resort but in most cases, it does work.

@prouddad38, I like the idea of the location things but just like tchwinnie & lovinam said, in the past we have a way of bonding and all that. So it's good we all agree on a particular thing though some mamas have already started sharing their locations which is not bad at all,those that are comfortable with it should go ahead,abi.

@beedam,that induction can be painful o but wait for other mamas to share with u. The lord is ur strenght

@beedam I lost my beautiful daughter last October at 42 weeks due to induction. She died 2 days after birth because of oxygen-deprivation as a result of the stress she went through from the induction. Imagine going through that hellish pain and still losing the baby. May it never be your portion in Jesus name. I think there are natural ways to induce labor. You can research on it.

I wonder why they let it get to 42 weeks though. Asides that, there is always a monitor attached to ur waist to monitor the baby's heart beat after induction and once it is detected that the baby is undergoing any form of stress, you are wheeled to the theatre immediately for C/S. Maybe there was some form of negligence on the part of the nurses monitoring the baby's heartbeat. It is well ooo

My sis says dat she uses castor oil 2 bring on labour once she get 2 39wks...She's a mother of 4!

I had my DD at 41 weeks, n made sure I read a lot about natural ways to induce labour.

Take a lot of walks, stress ur self a lot, infact that was when I decided to know oyingbo market in Lagos, dat day I felt Braxton hicks contraction.

I hear castor oil works...I did not try it sha, I no like to drink oil.
Kpekus works too, especially if u cum because ur body releases a hormone called oxytocin which I gather is what is injected during induction. Oga's release to helps to soften the area i think...

What really worked for me was the trek...

After reading all ur comments, I understand all ur concerns. But also, i just want all mamas to know I was only trying to help the worries about fellow mothers here.

I will be very sincere. I was induced in my first pregnancy cos they doctor advised so. Its always better to do all you can to ensure u have natural labour except the doc advices u to come in to be induced. The sad part about being induced is that u are stuck in one place. You cant move around to help ease the pain( this is where breathing technique/ day dream comes in). You will just be there on the bed from beginning till u deliver. Now u will be told it can go another direction ie you might be wheeled in for a cs if things don't go as d doc planned. To be sincere it is painful!!!!

Just keep taking your long walks, it will helpo kick start labour. Natural Labour for me is very painless. My last baby I was busy gisting away nobody knew the level of pain I was experiencing. People around were shocked when I came out with my baby. Lol

Experienced mamas please help out,I'm a FTM currently 35 weeks +,I'm trying to watch what I eat cos dis is the time baby weight multiples,please what food should I avoid or eat less now. Secondly,I've been practising my kegals well,and doing some minor exercise to prepare my self for labour and delivery, are there any other things I need to know.I want to prepare myself well...(I'm trying really hard to avoid episiotomy and ease labour pain)
