Hello Bukky, you cannot convert from visit to study inside Canada. You have to apply from Nigeria.

bukinoversace:
More on my post please. Is it possible to convert to student visa from canada for less than 3 weeks. So I can use my leave period to do that then come home and resign officially. What do you think please .......

He was only in Canada for 10 days so didn't apply for OWP. It takes about 2 weeks to process so he'll do that on his next trip which will be longer. I don't think its a biggie as long as you have the requirements.

Thanks for the response. Please can you tell me the requirements?and what's the duration of the visa given? Thanks.

His current visa is valid for the duration of his passport. For OWP, off the top of my head, it's proof of marriage, funds, medical and home ties I believe.

Most crucial requirements are Enrolment certificate of spouse in a DLI, funds, marriage certificates, medicals, security certificate, letter of invitation from spouse, necessary application forms.

OWP will be valid for duration of the Study Permit of invitee.

@jojcanada and anybody that can help pls I'm thinking of applying for PGD in Accounting in Canada, I have 2 kids that are below 2 years and I don't want to leave them in Nigeria. My hubby plan to stay in Nigeria and come visiting anytime. Is there a chance of being granted visa if I applied with my babies. I read from ur thread that ur husband has been granted visa after few days...can my hubby apply as my dependant when I get there even though he doesn't plan to stay or it must be visit visa. I m very much particular about my babies.

Well i don't have kids yet and I was advised not to apply with spouse so I didn't. He however applied the week I entered canada and was granted. I think it depends on you being able to prove you will leave Canada at the end of your studies. Try this other threat you may get better advice there https://www.nairaland.com/2035081/travelling-canada-part-7

Best of luck. Canada is a beautiful place

I got admission for Environment Health & Safety at the Uni of Sunderland to start sept. From my research, Environmental eng,mgt graduates are in hot demand. Especially in Canada. Also in the UK, they are in demand but its just the effort on securing a full-time job in the UK etc. But generally I think the Environmental Mgt graduates are in hot demand

Hello houz, i applied for M.Sc Animal Science in university of manitoba for fall 2015, the graduate school told me i don't need to mail a supervisor, that they would assign supervisors to students they would admit, i was given the same information in another school only for the department to tell me i need to get a faculty member willing to supervise me before i can be given an admission. Please i need anyone familiar with university of manitoba's admission process to enlighten me on this supervision issue i.e if the university takes care of assigning supervisors to students or students would have to mail faculty members directly. Thank you.

They may well allocate students from Canada or US
Students from Nigeria may need to contact supervisors so that they can be assessed.
Usual wahalla of not trusting Nigrtian documents.
