Throttle body rarely gets bad, what spoils is the sensor for cable & actuator for cableless.
The problem is getting the genuine sensors & that is why folks resort to the toks.
Contact luvinhubby (08029255299), he stocks oem parts, got my Honda genuine coolant/antifreeze from him.

It happened like a year back and it was luvinhubby who helped with getting it fixed.

Thanks.

When driving fast or slow? If its when in traffic or when engine is idle, then its most likely the idle speed valve, it might be stuck or still will require servicing or replacement. If on the other hand it switches off while on motion, it will require prayers. (Will require inspection) if in lagos 08023251039.

Carb cleaner or like 5k(clean or replace) 3rd option is that it might not be connected at all.

Or tell your mechanic to check your air flow meter. That is the recognisable name.

Hello house I need help on my recently bought 04 accord. I noticed that the temperature gauge always rise towards the Hot ( H ) whenever am using the ac, but no overheating when the a.c is off. The coolant level in the radiator is okay but the level of coolant in the reservoir goes down. I have checked the radiator no leak and the radiator cover is okay too. What can be the issue? pls I need urgent advice

Straight to the H point? Or inbetween H and C? Check cooling fans, ensure both spin at same time when AC is turned on, also ensure condenser and radiator are not clogged with dirt, if they are take it to a carwash and ask them to use the water gun to flush the radiator (600naira)

In addition to what Gazzuz has suggested, you mentioned something very important. You said "the coolant level in the radiator is okay but THE LEVEL OF COOLANT IN THE RESERVOIR GOES DOWN'.

Since there is no leak in the circuit, this tells me that your radiator was (most likely) recently drained of coolant, but was not refilled with adequate coolant. That is why your engine temperature rises and the level of coolant in your reservoir goes down after a drive. If this were to be the case, you may also observe air bubbling in your coolant reservoir actively, whilst your car idles.

My advice: Keep topping your reservoir with coolant to the 'maximum' line after every drive until there is no further drop in coolant level. At this point, your cooling system has taken/ sucked in sufficient coolant to keep it functioning optimally. You should not experience overheating anymore when you switch on your A/C.

Note: Even without A/C, if you drive the car long enough, the engine will overheat IF what I am suspecting were to be the case.

ii) pls, never open the radiator immediately after a drive. You must wait till the engine is cool. However, it is safe to open the reservoir after a drive.

Reflect on this also and act appropriately Sir.

Cheers!

thanks so much nas00, very thoughtful analysis . I have been topping the coolant in the reservoir but usually not up to max between the min and max but keep dropping. you are right when you say if i drive enough even witout the ac the engine will heat up, I ve noticed that too. I ve not been using the ac for fear of overheating. I ll do that n see what happens, though mechanic says I should change the radiator to double cell which I don't agree for now.

No need to change to double cell. Don't mind your mechanic. So far:

1) your fans are working (controlled by thermostat, which is a function of engine temperature)

2) Your radiator's cooling fins are not clogged by mud or dirt (this is quite unlikely, as the A/C condenser acts as a shield for the radiator, taking in the bulk of the dirt..but it is a possibility)

3) There is no coolant leak

You'll be fine.

Just do as advised. It has happened to me before when I did a coolant drain and refill, and I sorted it out myself. No shaking.

Guys, i really need your help and advice, especially from the experienced folk.

My car is 2007 Accord 2.4l American spec.

Its a 2014 California imported to Nigeria.

Just started driving it in March from previous user.

I think the fuel economy is very very poor.

Car drives very very smooth. No single issue.

No single check light.

I scanned the car myself and checked everything with the best scanners. NO SINGLE FAULT anywhere.

The car is still in factory mode and no mechanic has touched or changed any setting put therein by Manufacturer. So its not about thermostat or any thing else

I've changed air filter
I've changed factory plugs with the original G power platinum plugs cost 4000 naira to buy

I'm supposed to be getting city drive 20-22 mpg
highway 25-26mpg but with my highway/city drive, I get 15mpg which people in Nigeria can say 4 miles per litre or 6.3 km per litre.

I do 18miles per day from home to office via 3rd Mainland bridge (9 miles from home and another 9miles from Island to home). see the outcome below

This Morning yesterday 2/4/2015, I refilled the tank

The gauge was at half tank

I checked the miles and it was exactly 148 Miles

I refilled the tank back with 35 litres on the fuel dispensing
metre

Last week, It was 138miles =35litres

This week in which there was very little traffic and i drove
alot of high ways like 8 miles non stop to Church and another
8 miles non stop from church, i achieved 148miles =35litres

This is still crazy.

I need your help before i go mad completely with the car.

Please suggest way out of this mess

Thanks

Post live scan results here. And in addition scan transmission.

Hope you don't have a heavy foot? Is your thermostat still in place? Are your fans direct?

thanks for the response

But I don't think your read the post well.

The car passed all scan test, so its not a matter of posting result here.

I have a professional scanner that reads Airbag and power train as well. It also reads freeze frame (not all scanners can do that as this scanner cost about $900)

I also checked the two O2 sensors and they passed, neither is the car ready for emission testing.

Car is still in factory mode, no modifications altered as per factory default

loool. the gods are not to blame

Seriously I need to figure this out..

If you see the car, its better than some tokunbo cars. Just 1 owner in the US before being shipped to Nigeria. The VIN check says no accident, no recall, or bad history.

I need help

Chairman, I greet you.

No matter how 'stupid' he sounds, it is because you wanted other people's opinion that you posted your experience with your car here. In other words, with all your seriousness, you couldn't seem to figure what the problem with your fuel consumption was.
I personally do not like your responses to Mr Gazzuzz, especially the one quoted (even though not directly directed to GAZZUZZ, the context indirectly implied he is not serious).

I have been regular on this thread for some years now. If that was the way people responded to each other on this thread, I am 1000000% sure I wouldn't have ever contributed.

Not nice Sir.

*Note: I feel like responding to your complaints, but not until we get this right.

Cheers!

Hi,
Neat thread..
My wife towed her Honda City to my office. She said when she puts it in Drive, nothing happens and the car goes off. Same for Reverse..

Is it the gearbox? Honda City - 2007
Can it be serviced? .. or do I need to replace?

I appreciate your time )

We have different ways of viewing things. No insult intended to Guazz. Don't bring issues out of non issue. Someone just posted about 'gods' above. I don't think it has to do with Guazz.

Was the response from Guazz implying unseriousness? I don't think so. Please don't speak my mind against what its implied

I wouldn't even allow any mechanic touch my car, since my field is a little related to the engineering discipline.
