Pls I need clarification on type of generic mails sent by the UK embassy. I applied for a 2 year visa renewal for myself and 6months for wife and son last week and got dis mail dis mrg.

dear xx xx xx

A decision has been made on your UK visa application. Your application will be despatched within 48 hrs. If anyone contacts you advising that your application is still under consideration or that they can influence the outcome of your application in any way, please disregard as they cannot. You should not expect to receive any further notification from this office.

Kind regards,

Lagos Visa Section

I'm nervous because the message is harsh, has anyone gotten this exact message and still issued Visa?

justwise:

Bro that is not a mistake, you can't budget for the trip without including those items.

I think it's important for all UK visa applicant to know how to fill the INCOME AND EXPENDITURE part of the application form. Many applicants are refused because of their inconsistency in filling this part. I will try to provide some explanations here:

DO YOU HAVE SAVINGS, PROPERTIES OR OTHER INCOME, FOR EXAMPLE FROM STOCKS AND SHARES? This question is to find out if you have other sources of funds to finance your trip apart from your usual earnings. This could be savings, renting of properties, lands or stocks. If you have any of these sources of funds, then answer YES and provide documents to support your answer. Give estimate what amount this will translate on a monthly basis.

HOW MUCH DO YOU SPEND EACH MONTH ON LIVING COSTS? This question is to find out what is your average monthly expenditure from your current income. For applicants that earn salary, you should be able to estimate how much you spend on living every month. Those that are self employed, can also provide an estimate.

HOW MUCH OF YOUR TOTAL MONTHLY INCOME IS GIVEN TO YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS AND OTHER DEPENDENTS? If you have dependents, such a parents, relations that you cater for, state how much money in GBP you must send to them monthly otherwise fill NOT APPLICABLE.

WHAT IS THE COST TO YOU PERSONALLY OF YOUR TRIP IN GBP(£)? If someone else is fully sponsoring your trip, obviously the cost to you personally is ZERO. In such case, your sponsor must submit documentation, e.g bank statement, and a letter written to UK embassy clearing stating why he/she is sponsoring the trip and any other justification. If the applicant is sponsoring himself, then the applicant must state how much the trip will cost (accommodation, flight ticket, meals, taxi, etc).

THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU HAVE FOR THIS TRIP? The amount you enter here must correspond to "cost to you personally" if you are sponsoring yourself. If there is a sponsor, enter the amount the sponsor will make available to you.

THE COST OF THE AEROPLANE, BOAT OR TRAIN TICKETS. Enter the cost of flight ticket (Return ticket)

THE COST OF YOUR ACCOMMODATION. Enter the cost for accommodation (obtained from the hotel) or zero if staying with someone. Then you must submit documentation from that person, such as tenancy agreement, mortgage document, utility bill and a letter from that person to the embassy stating that they will accommodate you for the period stated in your application.

THE COST OF YOUR LIVING EXPENSES. Enter cost for eg. taxi, bus, shopping etc

IS SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOU PAYING FOR ALL OR A PART OF YOUR TRIP? If you have a full sponsorship or partial sponsorship, then the answer to this question is YES, otherwise enter NO

WHAT IS THE TOTAL AMOUNT IN GBP(£)? Enter the total amount by adding the cost flight ticket, accommodation, living expenses. Ensure that this amount does not exceed the cost you computed for the trip.

Also any amount you enter, you must provide the currency, usually it better to provide the amount in GBP to avoid confusion. If you need to explain any thing else, use the addition information page and/or a sheet to paper. I hope these will answers some the questions applicants have on INCOME AND EXPENDITURE SECTION.

Yes, if the major reason for the refusal was due to your finances and if your financial circumstances have changed since your last application. But you must clearly explain this to the ECO with documentation what have changed since your last application.

I think it will be difficult for anybody to understand why she wants to share the cost with her company. Even if she is a shareholder the cost of the trip has to come from the company's account.

It is possible for some sponsors to provide partial sponsorship. This will depend on the who is the sponsor (individual or organization). In this case, it is not a good image for a company to provide partial sponsorship for training abroad. The ECO may view it as an act of irresponsibility for a company to send its staff on oversea training on partial sponsorship. If this trip is about self development, my best guess is to be silent on your company providing partial sponsorship, and focus more on demonstrating to the ECO that you have a strong ties at home (Marriage, Job and properties) and you will not breech the UK immigration rule for Visitor visa. @justwise can also shed more light on it.

Hello all.
Pls justwise and all, I have been a silent follower and reader of this thread and I have gained a lot. I used the information I got here to apply for my two(2) years visa and I just got it today. However, when I opened my documents, I realised that a sensitive document like the Confirmation of my appointment ISSUED by my employer was not returned to me. My question is how can I retrieve the document? the document is very important and I wonder why they missed sending it back with other official documents I submitted. Pls house, how can I get this back? do I need to write or visit Teleperformance on the issue? or do I need to write the embassy and intimate them of the issue?
All suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello gurus. Would appreciate your input on this before I go thru another application. I have decided to reapply for a visit visa this September. Will it be wise if I just submit my salary account statement with enough funds in the last 4 months when in my prior application, I submitted both my salary and savings account? I just dont want the unexplained deposit in my savings account to come up again. Appreciate all your help.

Good morning good people,

I'm sorry to bug with a cliche question, but please I intend to attend a training, fully sponsored by my organisation (up to tickets, feeding, warm clothing even in summer lol), do I need to submit my personal bank statement?

Thank you so much. I actually intend to apply on Tuesday.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by nenelistic: 8:45am On May 15, 2015
It is so funny when an entry clearance officer says that the total amount available for the tripis 5X your disposable income. Let me explain, salary is 162,000 And you indicate that you spend 60,000 monthly, leaving you with a disposable income of about 100,000. You propose to spend about 550,000 including flight ticket, hotel bills and living expenses. you have been working for over a year o. This guys will take into consideration only one month's disposable income and compare it with what you propose instead of the disposable income that you have saved over the period of time of employment, even when you show them an account where the monies are saved. This is ridiculous.

I think is still better to submit both account statements, and explain in the additional information page or with a sheet of page address to the ECO, the details of the unexplained deposit noted in the letter of refusal. The ECO will most certainly referred to that letter in considering your next application. It is best to provided details explanation and documentation to address all the reasons stated for your last refusal, if you think the ECO made a mistake in the first place. Withholding information that can help your case is not in the best interest.

YES, your personal bank statement is a proof of your financial standing and spending habits, which the ECO will also consider, in evaluating your application even though your company is sponsoring the trip. Failure to include it may not be in your best interest.

Not at all, the ECO just wandering how you have been able to saved 550,000 for a vacation, when you have about 100,000 disposable monthly income. Without any details explanations, it is impossible to convince the ECO.

@donciccio, sorry about the outcome. It is clear form the letter, that the ECO does not think that its wise for you to spend 3x your monthly disposable income for just a vacation in the UK. You did not also provide details plans on what you will do while in the UK. You can reapply anytime, but your application will also be processed putting into consideration if you have fully addressed the reasons for your last refusal.
