No, as long as you don't use the visa for any other purpose.

In my opinion it should be ok but I'd advice you call the Canadian High commission and enquire or email them.

Hello house. Pls I need advice or help.

1. I want to give birth in Canada. That's my main and real purpose of going and I'm not really to lie or say otherwise at the embassy . I'm about 3 months pregnant now.

2. I have like 1.5 million naira in my account. Although, I intend using husband's account of 500k as support. I will be applying alone.

3. I am a federal civil servant with 83k monthly salary. But I have like 20k been
deducted every month from the source, that is before the salary hit my bank account, the 20k will have been deducted. But I have all d break down on my pay slip.

4. I have a land to my name and a car document that carries my name.

5. My international passport still carries my maiden name, got married this year. my passport will expire Nov 2016. Do I need to make a new passport with my married name? I have my marriage certificate, change of name in news paper, wedding pictures and every other thing that shows I'm truly married.

6. Lastly, I have never travel out of Nigeria before.

Pls experts on the house, what are my chances of getting tourist /medical visa to Canada ?

My dear, if the highlighted sums is what you have, I don't think you can afford it. There are very good hospitals in Abuja that you can give birth with less than 500k if the quality of the service is what you are after. If you are after citizenship that's a different matter. If there's a complication you may spend more than what you normally should have spent which could wipe off your savings and probably leave you in debt. I don't see the visa officer approving your application based on the details you gave.

Thanks for the advice.
All my medical bills will be taken care of in Canada by a relative of mine, so as far as pay for my medical in Canada is concern, no problem.
The 1.5M naira is actually for my upkeep in Canada.
Now,if I'm able to prove and provide evidence of payment of my medicals in Canada, does it mean the VO won't still grant me visa? If yes, like how much should I have in my account for my upkeep that will convince the VO?

Hello All, Nice to see a thread on this. I had previously been considering US but with this, I'm definitely porting. @Hotstepper, I'm compiling my questions ooo *wink*
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by agriboom: 12:04pm On Jul 23, 2015
Hello @hotstepper or anybody in the know, can you please help with name of reasonably priced hospital and/or Dr for childbirth, what's the average price and how much to rent an apartment for like a month within the suggested areas?

Thanks
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Nobody: 8:13pm On Jul 31, 2015
Hotstepper:
He doesn't news to go that far. I.have a.dr that did CS with 1600 or.so so everything plus hospital bill didn't cost up to 4k. But in Aurora, it might cost.more because of the place just like my end. Wherever she gives birth, the birth certificate comes out within 5 days cuz u apply online nd they send it out immediately

@hotstepper, may I have your email addy, we are due in October and would like to consider the Canada route, were headed for the US but this Canada thing I'm liking it, or do I pm you?
